Here is a clip from my presentation at the UK's IHCAN Conference on mega-dose thiamine therapy.
In this clip I explain the necessity of thiamine (vitamin B1) for control of the parasympathetic nervous system, primarily through its role in activation of the vagus nerve.
Unfortunately I am unable to upload the whole presentation. Those who want to watch the entire lecture can find it here: www.ihcansummi...

3 years with super high stress caused migranes, headaches, fatigue, IBS, SIBO symptoms that probably came from fatty liver that I developed. Then extreme fatigue, brain fog, cognitive decline. Took supplements for NAFLD (garlic, TUDCA, Vit E, ) some probiotics. Later Benfothialamine (B1), Alpha GPC, Glycine, Omega 3 fatty acids, Magnesium citrate, B5 P5P, Zink, Vit C liposomal, . Feeling so good rn. It's life changing! Intestinals working, memory and cognitive improved drastically. I think I got really low on Choline and B1.

Your understanding and client experience is awesome, Elliot. Thank you for sharing. More information about supplementing Zinc would be appreciated. What was your rationale for not including it in your ThiAssist product? My husband and I both felt better adding more Zinc after 6 months on high-dose B1 therapy (200-300 mg TTFD, 160-240 mg Benfotiamine). One of your guests swore by the fat-soluble Magnesium, Zinc, and TTFD combination, and we had the same experience although we needed other B vitamins, electrolytes, and trace minerals as you recommend. Zinc and protein are so fundamental to protein synthesis and building a healthy body.

This approach seemed to clear up my SIBO for about a month until the air pollution got bad again, I seem to be sensitive to it when PM 2.5 goes above about 10 micrograms per metre cubed, also if stress level gets high enough it seems to override the benefits of the thiamine. To be fair I would say my SIBO was 50% improved already from the more well known approaches. It did help other symptoms though, I was getting a strained feeling in the chest when walking far or quickly outdoors for example and that went away when I started the high dose thiamine. I also couldn't really play first person shooting video games and now I can, pretty clear difference.

I was also taking magnesium threonate at about 300 mg and every time I went down in b1 or magnesium things got better but now I am down to just the multi vitamin and the paradox has lasted 8 weeks. I am wondering if the dose is still too high for what I need now or if I should stick it out. potassium citrate at 2000 mg seems to help with 300mg sodium. And LOTS of water

Taking magnesium at night or morning? Tried morning before? Could be electrolyte imbalance? My magnesium deficiency would cause night time energy and insomnia until I lessened the deficiency by taking in the morning. Also switching to glycinate instead of citrate was invaluable since it gave me the runs. Then it was improved further by bringing dairy back into my diet. I think food based calcium and supplemental magnesium type matters a lot here. Try it in the morning in smaller amounts and try to balance it against calcium. Magnesium oil is something to carefully try (use only on hairy skin areas). Make sure your vitamin D status is healthy. Don’t convince yourself magnesium is required or to improve.

i would take b1 with a good B complex all Bs need each other and people often lack some bacteria making them in gut you can't get these bacteria back if not giving them their food at first after 3 months they should be all back and with ok diet they will know what B to produce in what proportion I only take B1 B3 B6 (p5p) and B12 but earlier took good B50 sleep is a complex thing also related with parasympathetic system I take huberman stack for sleep but there are other important things you may have apnea and need to learn mewing and tape lips when sleeping or you may lack gaba while supplement form do not work 😂 I take valerian and this ugly tasting kava kava, get melatonin abd theanine this, blocking blue light at evening and darl room does trick to me but I can't go sleep too late, it breaks everything there are also crazy things as body killing off good bacteria because of lack sulfur... or lack of molybdenum.. and nobody will tell you about these, so some things are good but because of one stupid unknown factor don't work :/ we are alone in this always we test and just learn from mistakes with time more important is to keep similar lifestyle conditions to actually see changes not hidden because of anomalies in our life
