@@dimples7162 I feel you boo, but I've tried that for just a few days after I washed my hair and thoroughly cleansed my scalp and it doesn't work for me. My scalp was COATED in dandruff and it was really itchy, so I have to make sure I oil my scalp. I don't do it everyday, I do it every other day so the oils have some time to soak into my scalp and I use a fenugreek and rose spray on my scalp and hair everyday and that handles it as well.

I don't exist to make others comfortable. I came to that realization recently and it feels so incredibly freeing. So what I'm trying to say is that I completely relate to you not caring what others think of your hair because I'm right there with you. Edit: the only thing I'm not great at yet is not comparing myself to others or sometimes being envious of people who can wash their hair and not have it be a whole production. That makes me feel sad or frustrated sometimes but I am working on it.

When she doesn't look the way I envisioned she would on a certain day, I'm growing into saying, "Hey. She's moisturized. She's strong. She's healthy. However she looks is great, no matter what." LOVED THIS VIDEO. :-) P.S. I had a barber cut/boy cut for 14 years. I've only had hair again for 15 months. So having it again has been a journey and a pleasure. This video makes me feel good. Thanks for the informative video. I find that getting my hair flat ironed once every 2 months to get it trimmed is the best way to keep split ends away and this also significantly reduces shedding. Using heat infrequently to get your hair straight will reveal how bad the ends of the hair really is in its natural state. Sharing my experience. 😊

Hi, what products do you use a leave-in or a moisturizing cream that contain oils instead ? I have always used oil or a mix of shea and oil. After shampooing and deep conditioning, I go in with my leave in and moisturizer on wet hair and twist or braid it up. I re-moisturize every 3 days. Moisture is retained for that long because of my low porosity hair. I do that until the next wash day

@@franchescaanthony5905Thanks for answering and I see what you mean although I do love oil/butter. There is no point of using moisturizer + butter +leave-in+ oils etc.... all of them at once. Creams already have oils in it and other conditioning agents, so if it is a good one there is no need to add additional layers on top. I have not used a moisturizer in a while but there was a time where I was using lotion but no oil butter and I was fine too. I find it useless to use plenty of products on our hair. I'm so happy all these points are coming from an OG. You have affirmed my thoughts. Heat kills the hair slowly and cause more split ends than necessary. Wigs aren't worth it. Our hair grows at different length and everyone is different. Check your hair's healthy and make your own comparisons for health especially. If we all focus on loving and accepting our hair, all the "too much" will cease. 😊➿👌🏾🖤

I think it's fine to not use oil as much if you don't have really dry scalp. I still do because I have dry scalp, but I have changed from using oils in the liquid form to hair grease like ORS Tea Tree Oil Hairdress, as it works for my natural hair. I got a steamer for this, I rather use warm humid heat, than a drying blow dryer

@Divine 85 Erin it's always on the lowest heat setting, it's more of warm air so it's nothing too serious it just takes alot longer to get it stretched but it's much better than heat damage. As for heat damage, I've never had any.

Number 7 is me. The Becky is so true. I was told to come to work with my hair “contain” so I too pointed out a girl who literally came to work with wet hair and brushed it at her desk as it dried. I at least tried. I absolutely hate number 8. I mean hate it. Thank you fir the video.

Acceptance of ones 4c crown, is acceptance of self. Accepting our unique differences in the textures, curls, thickness and length is loving each other as the true Queens that we are, young and old. Thank you fellow Kween 🙂for using this medium to remind, educate and uplift us. Blessings and love🇯🇲👸

Nothing is more liberating than being comfortable in your 4c hair Jeeez I stopped hating receiving critics about my hair n I tell people clearly am happy with the way my hair is n especially when I get that question, why don’t u straighten your hair??😀

I agree with everything but oiling my scalp it’s mandatory I have eczema in my scalp and it’s an necessity to me since it’s beginning to get hot out I need to do it more than I usually would. Great video tho!

I also stopped oiling my scalp! It doesn’t do anything for my hair and just causes me to have to wash it more often. I used to religiously oil my scalp - like soak it in coconut oil and my scalp was always itchy. Now I don’t oil it and it feels fresher.

Loved every part of this video..I think one thing I stopped doing to my hair was just doing too much with it. And oh I wanted to ask..do you do protein treatments on your hair too?? Great video Jenn❤️ Can't wait to see the reverse version.

Great vid! Question regarding stopping stretching...was stretching problematic for your hair (i.e. causing breakage, loss of curl pattern or something), or is it just your personal preference not to stretch?

Hi. My daughter is natural and I get her hair braided. What can I do besides blow drying to make it easier for the lady to braid her hair? Like how do I ensure it’s detangled so the BRAIDER isn’t stressed with my crying daughter?
