This is solid proof that he doesn't like any challenge is his games. his favorite mega man game is the one were you can pick a easier difficulty and he doesn't even realize it.
Okay, I understand some of the points Wily World Order is making, and I hate DSP as much as the next guy, but he expects Phil to know everything about Megaman.
Phil always pulls this kind of shit to make himself look better, saying he's a diehard fan of this series or that series, when he doesn't actually possess any skill or wisdom that is characteristic of an actual diehard fan. He's the definition of pretentious.
This is one of the best "tihyDp" I've seen. Instead of showing him failing, your commentary also says the correct way to do things along with nice bits of information on the things happening. I salute you, good sir. Please do more!
Phil is apparently using a Game Genie _because_ the pins in his NES are so fucked up, he can't _not_ use one to play games. As you pointed out, the pins get bent over time, but using a Game Genie actually accelerates this. Phil's NES is in that bad of condition due to him using the Game Genie so frequently, I imagine. The flashing screens _do_ indeed indicate there's a poor connection between the game cart and the NES, but it flashes due to the region lockout chip. Without the chip, almost every game will run immediately, even if it has graphical glitches due to a wonky connection. Also want to point out some stuff here as a fellow _Mega Man_ geek: The Sniper Joes in this game are called "Returning Sniper Joes". The joke there is that he said "they're returning from the last game". Of course, he likely doesn't know the names of things, so... Apparently, all the "pro" speedrunners actually _do_ play _Mega Man 2_ on Normal. A lot of them also use the _Anniversary Collection_'s "Easy Mode" and auto-fire functions. Phil here seems to use auto-fire in his own playthroughs.
As soon as he turned that cartridge on after the reset, I knew it was the game genie screen. Why is he got a game genie in his NES if he ain't gonna use it?
Wily World, I've gotta say that the interesting trivia and background info you give throughout this video is far far more interesting than any commentary Phil has to say. You've made this very interesting to watch besides seeing DSP be a scrub. Great job!
7:43 I'd just like to point out Phil's incredibly unique screw up right here. He easily could have gone up the left side to get the powerup but he missed in such a way that it climbed up a different wall using up all of the Item 3 weapon energy, screwing him over. It's beautiful.
7:17 There is a password chart where you can customize your passowrd picking what robot masters have been defeated and how many energy tanks you want to start with. Though you can chose from zero to four tanks, that is one dot on the grid. The other eight dots determine whether a robot master had been slain or still needs to be dealt with. The password system in Mega Man 3 is even more user friendly once you figured it out.
The scariest part for me is that supposedly before he exposed his stupidity for all to see on RU-vid, he was a construction worker. Can you imagine this guy working on a construction site?!?!? Good god, talk about a safety hazard. I think I'd kill myself if I were his co-worker.
Did you notice that in the Picopico-kun battle(Wily Stage 2 battle), when pulling out the menu, all the "frames" of the blocks that are in place of blocks that move to create the enemies, turn into normal blocks(like at the start of the battle), and then when exiting the menu it returns to normal.
50:38 "Special thanks to these assholes" Assholes? Excuse me? The people who helped make what is supposedly Phil's "favorite" Megaman game are assholes? And on top of that, all he ever does in his Megaman playthroughs is make fun of the Robot Master designs, names, and USUALLY the themes. The only reason he said this music was "epic" was because it's so mainstream. As funny as I find TIHYDP, these moments just infuriate me where Phil is so disrespectful and immature to the developers who put their heart and soul into these classics.
And no, the lasers in Quick Man stage are notfaster on normal difficulty. If you play on easy you just deal twice the normal damage with each weapon, nothing else to it.
Quickman in Pal version of Wily Wars is pure brutal. The speed of laser is seemingly unaffected by the frequency difference, meaning the timing is strict through the whole thing. One of the scrolls that have 5 lasers requires frame accuracy and Mega Man can only escape the last laser by pixels.
I've always despised Wily Stage 4, that stage REQUIRES farming or game over if you mess up your Crash Bombs on the bossfight. Took like 30 minutes to finally do it as you also need to conserve all 3 transport items to skip some walls.
fun fact: you can one hit the second phase of the wily fight in wily 5 by using an exploit on the bu beam trap, this is achieved through blowing up a mandatory wall and an enemy with the same bomb. kek
This is why i have the MMAC i dont have to deal with this shit.NES had some issues with cartridges but not all.Phil needs to clean his NES and his cartridges.
This is one of those TIHYDP that l dont really understand. Did Phil say stupid comments? Sure. But it seemed like he was genuinely having fun playing this game and all the negative comments were just nitpicky.
I honestly don't get why DSP has to get up close and personal with Heat Man every time. For a game he claims is his favorite of the Mega Man series, he has no fucking clue how the weapons work.
As bad as Phil is now, I was a sub back when he did this series (and the X series). I was super hype. I watched every playthrough. He was shit, but it wasn't TOO bad compared to now haha. That being said, your TIHYDP is godlike (well, all of them). You're amazing and I'm glad you added all the trivia.
17:48 Should of added Oni from Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition. I'm joking, it's your choice. It's nothing I could do to mention after the posted video anyways.
Jamster256 If I had no life I would be dead. You are like a broken record. Cannot come up with original insults so you reuse the other ones like a broken record.
1:00 Sigh...Phil, you...DO realize that it's not so much a choice between "Normal" and "Difficult", but rather a choice between "Easy" and "Normal" respectively, don't you? I'm curious, how much shit did he get on the original videos for that?
This like when Anthony Legato decided to take a shit on Chris-Chan. TIHYDP videos are supposed to deconstruct Phil's playthrough by showcasing his failures, they're not supposed to be trivia videos.
I usually enjoy these TIHYDP videos but this one is annoying. You don't have to criticize every single tactic and every single thing he said. So what if he didn't use "x" weapon, not everyone is a wikipedia on these things
crash b True, but you do realize he was using a guide, right? Given that fact, I think it's a fair criticism as it shows just how much effort he put into the gameplay (i.e. reading just enough of the guide to brute force his way through the game, but not enough to actually understand the game mechanics...because he doesn't care).
He actually did well. This video is stupid and pointless. You are just stole his content and make it seem like he is bad at the time. Seriously, these games are hard and EVERYBODY screwed up and had trouble at some parts.
Yet this guy used a game genie (overall best gamer in the country). And its called fair use not stolen everyone's done a mega man game so its nothing new.And everyone has used there video's of a game as well for there content.Mega Man games arent that difficult.Mega Man 1 had no difficulty settings whatsoever. And you might think its stupid but you clearly dont see why its being done. He's insulting the developers and saying the game is garbage because he's having difficulty in the game and he doesnt understand trial and error which is in every game thats made. And it wouldnt hurt him to read the instruction manual to look up the bosses backgrounds. And yes people do screw up in games but to phil its the games fault that he fucked up not him.Yet he has the controller in his hands which he controls so basically when he fucks up its his own fault. The only time its the games fault is when it resets itself like what was shown here. What people see in phil is that he doesnt want to admit his mistakes like nothing is his fault.Or if he starts to bully people for there own opinions its there fault and he didnt do anything.Watch DSP tries it Fuck Your Opinions and you try to defend phil after watching that video.
