I'm pretty sure it's just a bride from the South deciding that "Southern" has to be their identity, and if they like a dress then it must be a Southern dress. I haven't been able to pinpoint an actual style. All of the elements they describe for a "Southern dress" are found just as often on dresses everywhere else.

In terms of the dress: timeless style, conservative with a hint of sexy (well-fitting, showing off the body in a tasteful way), and understated in a way that draws the eye. In terms of the wedding: it depends on which part of the South, and can be a bit of elegance meeting rustic or the kind of Southern Living ad you'd come to expect. We have a rich culture and we like for elements of that to show through. If you're having that much trouble, you could try Pinterest or bridal magazines (or something like Southern Bride). It's not difficult.

Like the dress she decided on is perfect for an outdoor wedding under some weeping willows. Then you can have some dancing outdoors under the stars. But only in late spring, early June-before the weather gets to hot. Have the wedding in the evening and some brisket as the reception meal and you’re good to go. She picked a great dress for that type of wedding.

Sorry for your loss :(. I've lost my Dad when I was 19 and I'm really sad over the fact that he won't walk me to the aisle... And he won't see my children grow up. But I'm lucky to still have my mother with me, I'll never take it for granted.

@@burcu2892 so plantation back in the day was basically farmland in the south and prior to the civil war it had slaves working in them. Plantation one of the things that slaves picked was cotton so I think it’s meant to say full of fabric but I’m not sure why they said that in the show.

@@YACABE I don't know much about Scarlett O'Hara, but from looking at a few pictures it seems like the neckline closely mimics a lot of the ones I saw and I think the lace gave it the southern touch she wanted, since she said she meant more that she wanted something that made her feel like a southern belle rather than something that actually looked like those sorts of dresses

@@jb6712 i kinda heard it as: My baby, Prince Charming. The comma changes the meaning, which means My baby and Prince Charming are two different statements and/or they are separate adjectives. I don’t find it weird calling your child “baby” because when your child is young, you can call them baby. Calling them baby even when they are older is still nice especially when both people are used to hearing and saying it. Same goes for Prince Charming. Would it be weird if the dad still called her daughter a princess? I don’t think so. Sorry if this comment seems a bit passive aggressive or weird, I just wanted to state my point of view.
