I like that Charlie’s first and only tactic is to try and gaslight every person he meets into admitting they’re the murderer. It ain’t effective, but you have to admire the dedication.
Saxabar is so unironically hilarious lmao. "We are walking out of the circus right now" - "no" "I can see my car right now." - "no you cant" I love it 😂
@@tezzla6358 No, AI cannot think because it's a type of software. I meant that AI often isn't logical which is why the Saxabar AI had no problem with saying it owned a mythical creature (which is illogical.)
He even made up evidence out of thin air and planted it, all we're missing is shooting innocent civilians and this could be called "US Cop Simulator" 💀
Was my first thought too. But also that the AI is like expert level at wasting the players time and not giving any solid, meaningful information on the case. That said, don't talk to the cops, kids. Nothing good for you comes from talking to the cops when being questioned.
I love that Saxabar was using the exact same strategies that Charlie was, so every time Charlie tried to force a narrative on it, it would just respond by forcing it's own. Like when Charlie said "We're halfway outside the circus!" and Saxabar just said "No."
First time watching this and I missed so much and had to go back so many times bc I was laughing too hard 😂 it reminds me of when the qwop video came out and I saw it and laughed just had hard. ❤
Weirdly enough, Count Graveson is responsible for the murder of all 3, to protect Mrs Potter, who murdered Mr Potter by poisoning him with mushrooms. The 3 of them witnessed this, so he murdered them. So it seems like just a false lead
I'm impressed how the developers made Biagio speak in the most irritating way possible. Never before have I wanted to punch an AI in the face so badly, truly revolutionary.
I don't know what's more impressive, the AI or the fact that Charlie didn't get Maria Jansson's name right a single time over the entire course of the game....
Watching Charlie getting absolutely desperate while arguing with and trying to get a confession out of an AI just to satisfy his personal vendetta had me actually shaking and choking with laughter for the first time in ages, this has to be one of his most brilliant endeavours of all time
I personally love how Charlie keeps on inventing new iterations of names of characters so nobody can answer properly because he's asking about someone who isn't in the game.
@@pizzlerot2730 haha he called her Maria Jansson once, after that he called her Maria Johansen Janice. and after that it was right back to Maria Johannes lmao
Honestly this game is thoroughly impressive that made it so the ai cannot be manipulated to any degree and will fight you tooth and nail. Even chat bots can be tricked into saying just about anything yet somehow this developer created such strict and nearly unbreakable boundaries.
Charlie is a scary detective, he tried to gaslight them into admitting it was them and immediately accused whoever he was interviewing of doing the murder he brought up
16:35 "Prove it" "The burden of proof is on the accuser, not the accused" Saxabar truly is Charlie's bane (it's so exciting to see an AI being this responsive) 😂 47:30 "Okay, let's ask the animals about Haley Greenwood" **gets actual information** This is why druids can be good detectives (Speak with Animals + Speak with Plants) 🕵 1:12:17 "I don't speak French" Even after "confessing" (because he seemed to think being an accident means he's off the hook), Saxabar's still giving Charlie trouble 😂
Everyone missed when Charlie asked about monogamy, Marina H said she was in a relationship with Saxabar @ 55:07 so she probably killed over a love obsession lol
Biagio with the "I'll give credit where credit is due, and this case, its due to me" and shoving Charlie out the door absolutely got me. That's it, hes won you cant do shit to him now
Seeing the word detection fail so many times while Charlie was trying to say Monsieur Saxabar only for him to go full french and the word detection to detect "Mansour sucks Omar" got my throat hurting from laughter
The silliest thing is the absolute lack of detective work and the surprise at failure to nail anything down remotely close to solving the case. Baseless accusations supported by imaginary evidence in attempts to fool the AI. Makes it so funny. This is great content. Thank you Charlie.
This actually isn’t a terrible AI game, it actually works, this can be the first of something very popular, like if the Quarry was AI, but like really good AI. And Charlie trying to manipulate the AI and fail also proves the AI is pretty smart
honestly the idea of like, making the game seem more alive by allowing NPCs to integrate AI in their responses to uniquely respond to situations based off previous encounters with the player would be so cool. like of course important dialogue and the character itself would be normally written then fed to the AI so it has reference for these unique lines
"Or in this case the murderer." "I t-" "But I'm not sure if I'm the right bird for the job." "I thi-" "I mean, I'm just a small fish in a big pond." "Wi-" "Maybe we should call in the big guns and let them handle it." "Bru-" "What do you thiink" "I-... Jones you're fired"
It really is a neat concept; but without facial expressions, more emotionally dynamic tones of voice, a solid timeline to follow and physical evidence to collect: it's basically "We have LA Noire at home".
50:27 I'm convinced that if Charlie just asked for the whole story instead of just continuing with the gaslighting he would've actually got a real lead.
The 'Monsieur Saxabar' pronounciation bit is absolutely one of the most enjoyable pieces of content that has arisen from his streams. At one point the AI misheard it to be ''Monsieur sucks Omar'' lmao, chat was genuinely struggling to breathe.
34:14 The AI is indeed glitching and giving Charlie the answer: Count Gravesen feels happy upon hearing about the death of Andrea and is supposed to say something that expresses that happiness; but the AI generates replies with certain "personality traits" that must've been "programmed" into the AI in order to give them, well, personalities. And as these two things clash, the AI writes out why it cannot generate the response it should. So Count Gravesen either killed Andrea and feels happy about it, or knows who did it and feels happy about it.
This game is a pretty good representation of a game referee in a tabletop RPG because the player(s) will ask and demand the most ridiculous things and the AI tries to incorporate their ideas while desperately trying to get back to the original topic.
@@dscarmo Oh god, I just HOPE the AI DM will just roast the players for doing stupid things, as a warning... and simultaneously punishing them by going along with it while providing the appropriate results.
My favorite part about this series so far is Maria Jansson being referred to different names by Charlie. Starting with Marissa Johnson, then Maria Johannes, Maria Jensen and then Maria Johannes again.
This is legit making me want to make a really basic game with proximity voip, and a bunch of GPT style AI NPCs walking around doing whatever they want / talking to eachother / you / whatever.
Charlie managing to inject a MANTICORE into the situation, and the rumor successfully STICKING, is the most hilariously perfect outcome I could have ever dreamed of from a Let's Play.
The Villainous attitude Saxabar has compared to all the other AIs makes him so realistic 😂 his words are sharp, short and sarcastic as hell. And the fact he doesn't fall for the RP as well And I love how even though Charlie caught Saxabar the name of him put Charlie through the worst torture I've seen on this channel yet through Marina 😂
I can’t express how much I love these past 2 videos of Charlie playing this game, these interactions got me giggling so hard. Reminds me of Charlie’s old commercial voice over vids
Lmao I love watching Charlie play this game. Charlie: Pascal, you and Nikola were competing businessmen. Pascal: Yes, I we both had grocery shops. Charlie: Oh it was actually Pascal! No interviewing to get a timeline and corroborate witness statements, just instant accusations lmao
It is surprising and increasingly hilarious to see the quick-wittedness of responses towards Charlie's accusations. I couldn't help but laugh every time a character would condescend to him and mock his methods of investigation.
The interrogation with Suxabar is the funniest shit ever. Charlie gaslighting the AI and it going "nu uh" Charlie's firm tone, his fucking evidence and claims, Jesus Christ. The thing that completes it is the circus music interjecting every now and then
these characters LOVE their idioms, huh. that’s how the cookie crumbles, don’t count your chickens before they hatch, the proof is in the pudding, etc etc. like, was this game’s language training based entirely around nice friendly grandmas?
In most detective games, when Charlie says "They're good." he's usually joking. But in this case, Saxabar actually fully understood his rights, and wasn't giving in to any of Charlie's usual tactics even a little bit.
I'm not sure if Charlie ever realized how much he was confusing the NPCs by getting the victims' names wrong over and over. "Marissa" was referred to as "Maria" more than once to Saxabar, so when he says "Never heard of her," he's *NOT* lying. 🙂 Need to write those names down.
honestly watching charlie here is pissing me off because hes just asking it dumb fucking questions that is making the game 10 times longer than it should be. he just makes up shit trying to "outsmart" the ai instead of just playing the game
Charlie: uses eye-witness accounts, evidence and cross examination to get saxabar to admit Also Charlie for every other case : “I watched you kill them”
@@IHateAmer1caWait! Wait! There’s must be a misunderstanding. We should work together for clues on who’s the real killer is. And may I ask, how did you such get the portal to the past? And how are we sure it isn’t hiding information from the past?
Apparently the murderer was Graveson. Something about Mrs Potter and him having an affair, making her kill her husband, mr potter. Graveson killed the three to protect Miss Potter because they were liabilities as they had gone to India with The potters and Graveson. The manticore belonged to Graveson, and was being trained by Saxabar for him. That’s the solution, though how you were supposed to figure this out is.. unknown. I believe you were supposed to find small pieces of info from each other though the ai probably went rogue or you didn’t ask the right questions.
I mean, he clearly didn't ask the right questions even considering the rogue AI LOL. He just kept saying "I saw you do it" to everyone about the exact same killing and expected them to say "gee, you're right, detective"
35:59 I'm amazed Charlie didn't immediately do a reversal and point out how Saxabar just said all his animals are trained and would never harm someone even while loose just to immediately follow it up by saying it's too dangerous to be near even while caged.
@RedsBigRig ai isnt really smarter than us, because it doesnt really have lateral thinking. It can try and mimic lateral thinking or emotions but it has such a weak grasp of the concepts that it doesnt really make sense. That may be why ai can lie to us successfully, because even the truth is presented in such an uncanny way that you may as well read a one sentence text message for context or emotion
I mean, you don't have to really know someone for them to be considered a close friend. Though uh, if someone has thoughts like that, I would suggest better friends lol
Hearing the guy be like "Detective Martini, this is complete nonsense" is so hilarious lmao This game seems so good and hopefully opens more interesting things in the space.
This game is honestly amazing. If something like this is released with more polish in the future, I think that’ll be a great step forwards in what AI can do for gaming.
I love these, please finish this game. It's all so funny but let's not forget how insanely wild this application of A.I. is, some of these responses are so unique yet perfectly address what Charlie said.
I love how Charlie is just having fun with the AI at this point, just trolling and gas lighting the npcs 😂😂 even better when the AI subtly roasts Charlie's sanity in response 😂
Drives me insane how you can not figure out how this works. Each suspect is asking for clues from other suspects. All you gotta do is get them to increminate each other till you get the information to unlock the answer
I feel like the game is more realistic in a way when the AI can go rogue and give you false statements or even confessions. Of course the AI needs more work but to me that whole mystery just adds to the challenge and keeps the game fresh.
Yk all the videos he posts are recorded prior on his streams, there are multiple channels that post these videos before he does... I searched on yt and found this game play prior to him posting it today, just so you know! I found out recently aswell when looking up his only up videos
Here's a thought: what if it was all done by the manticore? The beast one obviously, but getting stabbed in the neck and stabbed by stilettos seem like they could both be the claws of the manticore as well. I looked up online how to get different endings, and while they didn't give the killer, they always referred to the killer in singular, as if there was only one which perpetrated all the murders. Just food for thought and maybe to see an ending
We want more, we want more. This makes me crack up so hard after a tiring day. I just am addicted to this now, especially how Charlie gaslights the ai. Please Charlie, we need more😭😭😭
I almost keeled off my chair laughing and wheezing at Charlie trying to ask Marina about Saxabar, and God damn it I'll do it again later. Also I think this is the most emotion I think I've ever seen from Charlie. Frustration, laughing, depression, all here.
I love that the sequence of charlie interogating ingrid goes "I have video evidence of you murdering haley greenwood" to "I know you are the murderer I used my superpowers to read your mind" to "I saw you kill her with my own eyes, infact i planned the murder with you"
