Sometimes job interviews even asks what your hobbies are cause it's normal for adults to have hobbies regardless of generation. Not having one sounds like a very lonely existence
My current job asked about my hobbies during the interview. I legit when on a 10 minute talk excitedly explaining about fashion history and the fun transitional period fashions. Dude was so patient listening to me babble about Italian Gowns. He did tell me I got my job because I'm really good at explaining stuff. So, my hobby got me my job.

I’m a swim teacher and I once taught a man in his late 20’s how to swim. This man told me that he’s been afraid of water his whole life and that he and his wife are expecting their first child. He wanted to learn how to swim so he could spend more time with his family and so that he could be there if his child ever needed help. With my guidance, he did it. He overcame his lifelong fear and learned a new skill in the process. Ladies, is that the greenest of green flags or am I just tripping?

My Husband and I are together 40 years. We love fishing, kayaking, cooking together, finding new cities to explore, playing Runescape together, going to new farmers markets, the list is endless, because we aren't afraid to try new things, because it isn't trending. Finally I just went to the skate shop, told them I knew nothing, they helped me build my board and off I went! I don’t work in that office tower anymore, but I hope one day someone else looks out the window at the kids and adults using the skate park and decides to try something new like I did. 👍

Another reason why someone might not have learned to skateboard (or any other physical activity/sport) as a child could be that they were sick. I never learned to ride a bike as a child because I was too ill and developed osteoporosis from my treatment. Falling off a bike or a skateboard wasn't just a "oof you're ok, here's a band-aid." It was genuinely dangerous and I didn't have the energy to do much physical activity anyway. Sadly kids with sickly childhoods or early-onset diseases miss out on a lot of these things. Why can't they learn as an adult when they're better/have their illness under control?
There's no age limit to hobbies. There's so much life to live and so much left to learn after you finish school. You can spend your whole life learning new skills and you still wouldn't know even close to everything. Hobbies can help stimulate your brain and/or body, benefit your social life, and just all around make you a more well-rounded, healthy, and happy person.

Honestly, this is part of why I deleted tiktok. Hobbies are fun. You don't have to have been doing something since you popped out of the womb to enjoy it. My father actively searched for new hobbies and I am genuinely glad I had an experience like that that didn't make me feel bad about starting something late. In his 40s and 50s, he tried: grilling, outdoor gardening multiple times, candlemaking, cooking, reading, singing, and even before he passed he had said he wanted to start learning Spanish and play guitar. Obviously, some of these things he just ended up realizing he didn’t like, but some he continued with. Being an adult does not make you a mindless zombie. Have fun, have your hobbies.
AND...maybe we 30 year olds didn't have the courage to start a hobby we were really interested as a kid, but thought we would fail, or at older age we found something new we're interested, and now we just want to do it because we don't give a sh*t about what everyone thinks and want to enjoy life and have fun before we die 😂

I started learning the drums last year at 35 years old. I have always wanted to learn an instrument but never had the means as a kid or the time as an adult… until I just decided, “let’s try it!” Nothing wrong with living out your dreams or pursuing passions you’re interested in.
Now I understand why we had so many that were unable to thrive and lost their damn minds during the panny, because sitting on your phone 24/7 and not being able to get lip filler leaves nothing to the imagination. Studies show people with hobbies/interests tend to be more creative and interesting and confident. Women DO have hobbies, I like to read, garden, learn new activities, exercise, play sims, kayak, go on walks or hikes.
The idea of women not having hobbies is so fucking weird to me. Anyone not having hobbies is, but separating it by sex or whatever just seems extra strange. Every woman I know has hobbies, because they're normal ass people! I've visited Long Term Care Homes for years. Having a hobby is very important because, when you are too old to work or look after a family, what will you fill your time with? Picture it, elderly men and women complaining they have nothing to do so they sit in front of tv all day every day. The hobbyists are the happy ones. Painting, knitting, card and board games, sewing, assembling car engines (that was orchestrated by the home but it counts), drawing, reading, playing video games (yes, there were elderly gamers), going to events and walks, taking tours. It is vital to your mental health to have something to occupy yourself.

I'm 32 and I love to read, dance, try new cafes, travelling and learning new languages. The amount of people that have made comments towards me is astounding. My ex boyfriend got mad at me for going to extra dance classes yet when we met he knew I danced. I don't know why many in my generation are like this but whatever they can go live their miserable lives.
What should be illegal is anyone over 21 using the word "cringe" in the modern context. Also, claiming you're bored after 21 should be punishable by six weeks hard labor at mindless, tedious tasks. Adult minds never get bored, because they always can find something to do, to learn, to grow. Never let anyone tell you how to be you, to set limits on your abilities.
