Tool Tutorial: Braid Template 

I use my binding tool for the 2.5 inch strips. If you have yardage ( cut 2.5 strips) or a jellyroll strip. Fold twice then cut with tool (watching where your selvage edges are). You now have 4 pieces, with 2 being facing left and 2 facing right. If you'd like a double sided braid with a large block in the middle, the 6.5 square is a great size for the middle. If I do that, I use an accent block. I sew a 2.5 inch square on the end of 1 set of cut strips. Assemble accordingly.

I like the general idea and you showed how to join the two pieces however you did not show how to join the two rows. Do you join the 2nd to the first one piece at a time?

You did not caution everyone that this leaves a bias edge on the long side and to be careful in handling them. I used the Pepper Cory template that works with the 5" charm packs adn leaves the long edge on the straight grain But I love your ruler that lets me vary the width of the French Braid.

If you are using this as a border, what do you do at the corners? Do you miter them or what?
