Thank You Love8. It would be great if you supplemented the list with all the honorable mentions and the fact that I said that these foods were in no particular order. That we should not play favorites and that we need to start understanding the big picture about food, that just about anything produced by planet earth is good food until we screw it up with processing. And that when we try to rank food and pronounce winners, we start thinking that the foods that didn't make the list are somehow inferior, which leads to a very limited variety of food. 😄

Very wise review, really helps me think. The Sauerkraut information was helpful, as the "Vitamin C" story has alot of legs in the media: I switch between organic Sauerkraut and Kim Chi (radish). The review of Cod Liver is especially poignant to me, my mom had us take Cod Liver oil daily (yuck as kid) but I started taking one tablespoon 2 years ago daily, keeping the oil in the fridge, and as Dr. Ekberg mentions, I also get quality canned Cod Liver (in its own oil) but never have more than one can per week. Everything else hits true to me, been a follower of this channel for 2 years now, on Keto & IF throughout. Thank you.

Then there will be those who follow (at best) the letter of the law to earn the certification, but who will be quick to jump through loop holes for increased profits. I think that on average you will be better off with organic, and you can only worry about it so much before it drives you crazy. 😀

For those that miss their pizzas on low carb, Walmart sells a true cauliflower crust under I think Cali-flower brand that is 1 net carbs per slice or 3 net carbs per pizza. The ingredients are even better - cauliflower, mozzarella cheese, then psyllium husk, and then since this crust is an italian variety, dried basil and italian seasoning. They also have a plain crust if you want to add your Italian seasoning then it's just the 3 ingredients. It also is not as slimy or flimsy as other keto crusts. In fact, it mirrors one of our favorite pizzerias.

Thanks for the sauerkraut info! It was disappointing to hear, I eat mostly crucifers anyway, besides meats and eggs. I try to get an avocado a day, but I've been pretty lax with that of late. As for nuts, I like macadamias, but I also like the new Costco Keto nut mix. I do sprinkle some salt on that. I'm a huge fan of salmon and sardines, both wild. I enjoy grass fed lamb from Australia when the price is right, too. It's usually cheaper than steak, at least at Costco. Finally, the biggest thing for me is eating more eggs (pasture raised, of course) in place of meat. I don't see the drawback here.

These are great thoughts. You're the person I credit with beginning my journey toward better health. However, some of these foods I avoid now. Romaine lettuce too often is recalled - tho' I did love Caesar salad. EVOO (unless my information is incorrect) was touted for health when the olive oil industry was suffering and the Mediterranean diet was created. Also? The FDA doesn't really regulate olive oil and it is often cut with industrial seed oils. I use tallow (from pasture raised beef) most of the time and occasionally avocado oil.

Thank you for the lecture, as they say - briefly about the important. Dropped 45 kg. weight from 135 to 90. I am 48 years old, height 187. It took about 10 months for everything. After the first 30 kilos, I added sports: walking 7-10 kilometers every day and exercising with a barbell every other day. At first I removed all sugar from the diet and bread, without changing anything drastically and ate 4 times a day in small portions, but the weight loss stopped after 25 kilos and then I switched to keto. I ate on OMAD for two months, now I eat twice a day. Good luck to all.

Your videos are the only ones that really explain foods, nutrition, how they work or don't work in the body, as well as alerting about "corruption" in the food industry (i.e labels; who publishes and who doesn't). I have never felt that I could actually make a knowledgeable choice about food, because it was impossible to understand it. When one understands, it is possible to choose food and not "garbage". Sharing knowledge and critical reflection is what democracy and care is about. It's a shame nutrition isn't taught as an important subject in public schools! Myth breaker!!!! Now it's easy to choose, and to solve weight problems: don't buy garbage! Could you talk about where to buy good food, i.e. Amish stores? I've lived in Brazil for years, where there is a lot less processed food and I can get milk and cheese, eggs, country chicken from the farm and from people I know. I keep thinking, how would my health be if I had lived all my life in Jersey, eating a lot of junk.

You continue to provide quality information and resources. Some surprised me. I turned to many by listening to my body. I would love some input though. I'm allergic to seafood, very allergic. And I eat very little meat. I lost my taste completely for anything from the grocery store. I eat venison from my neighbor, she harvests it herself. I eat chicken from a friend's farm occasionally. What reasonable alternatives are available that are reasonable to grow and harvest?

I’m back to it. Fasting for 3 days at the moment as I’ve been feeling so bad. Post covid I’ve had an inner ear tinnitus issue and I’ve noticed if I do low carb it reduces. Been eating rubbish for a while and it’s back. Have no idea if this is blood pressure related but I’ve found when on keto my blood pressure is stable. Eating bread, potatoes, starch and alcoholic drinks it really get bad. So I’ve had enough and I’m back to keto after a fast. How long does it take to see results? I feel so fed up. My Daughter is vegan so keto is a bad subject in our life!! 🤦‍♀️ she’s coming to see me soon and a vegan keto meal plan would be amazing to know! Only if I can just do it while she’s visiting!! 😆👋🙌🏻🙌🏻

Zinc is good for tinnitus I read in a book years ago. I went mostly raw vegan for about a month after leaving Keto. Before I stopped my lower intestines got so messed up for some reason. It sent me back to KETO. Still trying to drop another 20 lbs. Lost 25 or so since April. Good Luck with daughter

Thank You Sarah Louise. Most tinnitus seems to be due to sympathetic dominance. Try to get regular with some meditation and breathing exercises. The fact that it is changing with diet is a good sign though. Then it is not totally stuck. Tinnitus can be very stubborn.😄

Cod liver is a treat!! I remember it from my childhood living on the north and having if not a lot of it but pretty much regularly. Bad thing was to have it with bread… you know, like to have butter with bread and whatnot. Just because that spread belief "oooh, it's so fat and not edible on its own". NOPE. Cod liver is perfect without bread or at least accompanied by some greenery! Thanks for such a detailed delivery!
