The honor is mine! I love your mod, thank you for making it! Quick question: is there any downside to using the Flirt action? It seemed a bit op in my testing.
Thankyou, i like ur content too, the answer is: it’s OP Xd But I’m certainly open to suggestions and to make tweaks to the mod if i’s necessary Also… There is 2 really cool actions i will include in the future -counter curruption -prepare a feast They are currently in my main records mod, and i’m planning to implement them in the future. Cheers man 👍👍
@@shatti886 By the heavens ! The court actions actually gives me purpose to interact with the faction court. Without it, I'm just assigning posts for the first 20 turns and that's it. Keep up the good work, good sir.
Wow we actually have the author here, great mod..but the flirt option needs to have a negative impact too, correct me if I’m wrong but it cost nothing and can be spammed to improve relations without any negative relations possibility right?
For me, the most important mod is the Units Model Historical Reskin. Especially for playing on Records mode, it makes the game so much more immersive to see more period accurate weapons and armor. Not only that, but the improved variety of shields and weapons actually makes units easier to identify at a glance because the gear is more distinct. Once you have a real professional army, they actually look the part. Another one that has been surprisingly impactful is the More Flag Variations in Battle. It gives a huge amount of additional flags that make the battlefield really come alive, while making sure that they're still unique to each faction.
Two mods are essential for me. Reset skills and Respec character skills when they join you. One allows you to set the skills at the start of the campaign and the other allows you to set their skills when someone joins/gets captured by you.
didn't realise there were still some many bugs in the game they call 'finished' :( very helpful video, thanks, will check out those mods next time im 3kingdoming ;)
‘Even for those who don’t use mods’ * ears twitch * . That said, those UI mods do look interesting. No in game changes, but some nice improvements to discerning things at a glance.
@@happycompy The hardest thing for me is the weird highlights in the battle UI. The highlighter colors of green and red, etc. make it feel less realistic to me.
Nr 6: yea that is on point, i feel bad for the fact that developers nowadays are so scared of making overcomplicated games with more complexity of choices and the events in a game, because they assume that some players wouldn't find joy in that, which is not true, there is not a single feedback on any game on steam that has complained about the level of complexity of that game, but that would make the game 100 times more fun, the mindset of making the game no-brain friendly/calling it kid friendly is absolute bullshit, cus most of us who lived our childhood in the 90s even as kids preferred the games which required more brainpower and strategy over those which were hollow inside. I hope this mindset will die soon, people love games which surpass their expectations in a video game's environment and events, fuels their creativity and challenge their abilities.
Brother I could not agree MORE! It's a shame Pharaoh was such a disaster because I REALLY enjoyed the deeper campaign mechanics that came with it. I hate how Shogun 2, Rome 2 and Attila don't have population systems or interesting characters. 3K truly was a breath of fresh air.
I haven't played TWF but that sounds really cool, I have to try it. but I like RW3K a lot, still they could make it better, first they need to change the years from 4 turns to 8 turns, people don't really care what the characters grand grand sons did, unless they make them unique non the less, but you start a campaign with the main characters of the epic, you would want to be able to end the campaign whiles most of them are still alive, a campaign usually takes between 200-300 turns, by the end game you only playing with the grand sons and daughters of the characters which is not that fun, they make the years longer instead, thee problem is solved, 40 x 8 = 320 turns. Next, they should add random events to the world, like droughts and floods and long winters (like make it 4 turns of winter instead of 2 which would be for the normal years) to make it more realistic, since one camping is about 3 generations of people of your kingdom and I think natural disasters could play a big role in your decisions and planning , in winter they should make all armies movement speed reduced by 50% ,and during drought they could make it so that the food production would reduce 75%, but the food doesn't matter that much in game if, you still can recruit army even if your city population is a few thousand, they should make food effect happiness, which it does not, -1 food should make it -1 happiness to the city, small details like that can make the game way more realistic, but to be honest even if I like TW3K family tree and factions missions, still feel it need to get better, the reason I support the idea of natural disaster is because if you watched the Tv show, cacao was really smart at guessing the natural events and that was why he was so successful in his campaigns as it was even mentioned in the epic of three kingdoms book too@@happycompy
I highly recommend TROM which weakens heroes, make more unique units to each faction, and overall makes the game more historical and fun battles compared to the original.
I wouldn't recommend Guv's additional units if you are a vanilla purist like myself. Installed the mod, did some testing, and the faction unique unit of Lu Bu available from the start beats Emperor tier units one on one. Not cool balancewise.
In my opinion the best mod would be the NGC mod (series) standing for New General Collection. This is a series of mod developed by multiple Chinese mod developers. It adds a lot of variety to the game changing up the game a lot compared to original version with each faction having its own way of battle by featuring self developed unique units that are pretty op however very expensive (which limits abusing the special units). For example Cao Cao features more melee battle with infantry and cavalry featuring his own faction unique infantry (sword and shield) with high defensive stats and cavalry being the tiger and leopard cavs with himself and his adopted son Cao Zhen being able to recruit a more elite (and much more expensive) version of it and Sima Yi being able to recruit a more elite version of the unique infantry mentioned above. Another thing to say is that some special characters are able to recruit their own unique unit limited to a certain number (Usually 1,2,6,12). In this mod the type of unit a general is suitable to recruit is no longer determined by the Wu Xing system rather by the buffs in their titles, skills, faction unique units and the special units that the general is able to recruit. Another change that this mod makes is that for some major cities in that period of history there are buffs added to them such as Luo Yang, Xu Chang, etc each with different buffs. There are also many events added to the game which allows players to choose what happens in the game either to go historic or non historic for the non player factions. General abilities are also reworked adding many unique abilities. These are just some of the changes that the developers made there are lots more to this mod. However one con to this mod would be that its not really user friendly to non Chinese speakers/readers as I dont think there is an english translation to it with most of the users being Chinese. Oh and one more con is that if ur pc isnt good enough its gonna run very slowly as it is recommended to play on maximum unit size. So yeah if you are a Chinese speaker and reader and ur PC is good enough go play a campaign using this mod and you will love it.
Not sure if it’s just me, but I’ve had a hard time finding public games on three kingdoms, and I like to start with multiplayer then campaign, cause there’s multiplayer in campaign (duh) so it’s just been sitting at the back of my steam library and I haven’t touched it, tho unrelated to the video, I’m still putting this, if I do get used to the battles, I will definitely try some of these mods included in the video!
I'm hoping unify after long divide gets worked on the modders said they still are after 3K was cancelled. But no updates since 2020 it was the closest thing to a DEI for 3K and was focused on historical accuracy and records mode.
Have you checked out "Heaven and Earth" (I think it's called, anyway)? It's a records mode focused overhaul similar to what you described. I'll definitely keep the Unify after long divide on my radar!
Try TROM, it's an overhaul, kinda hard to get into (I tried and gave up 4 times) but once you get the taste of it you won't want to play the game differently
@@happycompy not really, it expands on the game and makes it a tad more complex (especially regarding the army, what units can be recruited by what general) and balance some stuff. Not DEI level but definitely 3k++
Thank you very much for the mods I try not to use many game changing mods but these are good, I like to give a shout out to the More Flag Variations In Battle which gives all main factions unique flags with Tigers, Dragons and Phoenixes oh my.
Mods saved my Troy campaign. I was stuck with the AI spamming full stacks of elite shades but then I downloaded a bunch of mods which considerably buffed the player. Now everything is going smoothly again.
I subscribed to TUP. The massive non clone portraits and unique characters helped by a large margin. I just encounter some instance if characters not having portrait. Like Hou Jinting in Guandu. Also, many unique characters were cloned. Lu Xun and Ma Dai in Guandu again. I did load the TUP mods and submods in correct order and still get the above. Did you encounter that problem yet ?
I would really love to know what are the best mod you could recommend to us. I already bought it on steam during sale before. sadly, my laptop couldn't handle much. So atleast i'm gonna watch this and wait a few months until i get a new laptop then.
The crucial one’s are the 1.7.1 bug fix, MTU, TUP, WDG2, all unit remaster and Radious. It’s like a totally new game if u use those mods..itu yg harus ada bang
Eh the units remaster is mostly just shuffling around armor pieces some units look “better” but some dont make sense. I dont think it’s objectively an improvement. I tend to stay away from unit remasters or additional unit mods as they are typically pretty minor improvements if any at all.
Was the video for this captured a long time ago? The Relationships Matter mod shouldn't have ANY placeholder text anymore. Thanks for enjoying my mod though!
Yes! Some of the footage was captured with the Guanxi Overhaul mod, before I found your mod and upgraded. Thank you for making that mod, it's a must have for me.
Excellent Video , got 3K since beggining of December and already got a lot of hours into it :p . There is one thing i was wondering , i usually focus most of my army composition with ranged units , but atm i only see in the game 3 Artillery units . Still didn't found any mod who adds more . Any suggestions ?
By the way.. CAREFUL about those Make them unique mods, they used to work well in the past as I remember but now it messes up entirely your game and will lead to crashes.. I think the modder abondonned this mod.
Now if only someone could make a mod to change the colour if the UI and pause menu. Adore this game but due to my light sensitivity I can barely play it
just to ask is a restart required after installing all of these, has anyone also found any issues with this collection? Great work thanks, I just started
Hi, downloaded most of these mods and when i load up i see on the bottom right corner that the game is modded but i do not see the mods working? any help would really appreciate it
I don’t know a whole lot about modding but can anyone tell the the mod list order these are supposed to be in I subscribed to the collection and not everything is working so I’m assuming it’s the order
Can we get a breakdown of the best mods for Warhammer 2 with a load order that’s also stable. I have dozens and it’s a struggle to get them to work together.
This game was actually CA's very last attempt to create a more historical authentic Total War. Every titles after this will be all about myths and fantasies.
The make them unique mod doesn;t work properly anymore.. Just look at the comment section of the steam-workshop mod. Careful when installing that mod, it might corrupt your savegame entirely.. I had a massiv issue where uninstalling, deleting all files and reinstalling didnt solve it.. Most mods are not up-to-date nowdays.. I would recommend simple , yet effective mods like Radious, more deployable traps and capture generals release them and keep weapon.
Completely disagree with your number 1, I love MTU, and the new characters but the TUP just makes the game slower and more annoying, like it removes catapults and extends siege holdout time, also heros received a huge nerf, like Lu Bu can only rage 3 times, honestly this makes campaings more realistic but also more lengthy and boring.
3:34 More like invasive. I despise this feature in 3K. Screw the color coding generals and soldiers being bound to them. I seriously hope this isn't standard for them from now on. Also 5:51 what the hell is that even for combat animations lmao
It's very important because ancient chinese rely on taoism which is the personification of five elements in everyday life. If you don't like it dont play then
@@tomzicare Blue = Water Green = Wood Red = Fire Yellow = Earth Grey(or purple in TK) = Metal This relationship circulates infinitely as basis of taoism, in respective order i.e water give life to wood, wood fuels fire, fire give nutrients to earth, earth give birth to metal and so on. We can this example on buildings, which if you build a green/wood building (agriculture) it give discount to red/fire building (military) in same building. For units mechanism I don't really understand, except green/wood general also give bonus to red soldier and green soldier and so on. Fun fact : Cathay Faction in Total War 3 almost implement this system, but because its too complicated and complex, they use yin and yang instead which work 2 ways only
@@thelastking5072 I dislike the army system not the building system. The functionality of Taoism could've easily be implemented in something other than army system which was perfectly fine all previous games. I don't hate Taoism, I just hate how CA massacred the army system.
@@happycompy it is a complete overhaul with dozens of exklusive new units for every faction (much more flavor). Over all Radious gives your economy more income and your armies less upkeep. Combined with MTU you can recruit maaany armies with all your unique generals. The game gets a Total War feeling with constant fighting on all fronts ❤
