Toyota app confusion: TWO apps - MyT and MyToyota (possibly UK only)

That's really interesting ... if you have both apps on your phone then they both work 😀 From the limited information that is available I thought that once you had migrated to the new MyToyota app there was no way back to the old MyT app. I am going to install the old MyT app on my phone and use BOTH apps ... use the best bits of both the apps 😀 Thanks

After I installed MyToyota, MyT has stopped working. It redirects me to the new one. And information that the car is "transferred" to the new app is stored somewhere on the server. Since event with a new phone, it forces me to use MyToyota.

@zeljkotodor Thanks for the information. I haven't had time to try having both MyT and MyToyota apps on my phone yet ... now that I have seen your comment I will not be trying this!

I am trying to activate MyT Services and I am told to read the QR code in the MyT app. When I do that, it appears to capture the code buy then yells me to switch to the My Toyota app. The My Toyota app does not have the option to readthe QR code. I give up!

Try the following: - display the QR code on your car's screen - Open the MyToyota app on your phone ... you may then need to tap on "My Garage" ... then tap on "Add vehicle" ... then "Scan QR code" ... this should allow you to scan the QR code and hopefully will connect the app to your car. 🤞 I made this video to help people who were migrating from the old MyT app to the new MyToyota app. If you watch it from around the 2m20s it may help you to connect your app to your car. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U-YrvCmuvKI.html Good luck ... I hardly ever use the Toyota in-car navigation . I use Google Maps with wireless Android Auto. It works really well. I think you are logged in as "Guest" and this is why you need to accept the T&Cs every time. I was told I must swap to the MyToyota app a few months after I made this video.

@@Helpful-Stuff I turned out MyToyota app did not pair correctly and indeed I was in some Guest mode. After some help and scan of QR code from app everything started to work smoothly.

It sounds like you have had a nightmare of conversations with Toyota dealers. I think dealers are much happier dealing with a problem with a petrol/diesel engine ... apps are a long way outside their area of expertise!!! It sounds like you have probably tried lots of things already so apologies if you have tried this already .... I would try logging out completely from your car and logging in again using the QR code. This might reset things again and get your Smart Services working again.
