I discovered your channel through your vinwiki videos and I gotta say that part of my after work wind down is watching your videos. I enjoy a good story when it is told in a tempo and with the feeling you tell it. It reminds me of the times my grandfather would tell old car stories or just passing on life knowledge. Keep doing what you do brother.

Before I ruined my dad's toy owning days by being born. He had a red 66 step side jacked up on 38" with more bondo in it than a napa auto parts store!

Having an old guard family member compliment you is something a lot of kids don't understand these days. It was just a different time, if nobody was bitchin meant it was all right. You're lucky to have that as a last memory. There was a time when it was regular business for trucks to wear out drivers and not the other way around. Thanks for sharing

My first truck was a 64 C10. It was my Dads shop truck. It was on its 2nd or 3rd I6cylinder. It was parked in about 82. I got it running in 88 and in early 89 put a 350 in it with 300HP "double hump" heads shaved .020, TRW valves, 2:80 Magnum Comp Cam with double roller timing chain, Edelbrock Torquer, 650 Holley, Hedman headers with Cherry Bomb Glasspacks. Drove it for over a decade. Foolishly sold it in 2000.

Even though you banged on Fords, that I love so much, That story was even more beautiful than the model walking around it.

Great story as always, and you're right about cars, its not what they are, how fast or flashy they are, its what they mean to us, how they make us feel.

At the end of the day, they're rubber and steel. They're nothing special, but it's the people behind the wheel that make them. That's what makes a car story great!

Dad bought that 1968 ...gasp... Ford Mustang new. Gave it to me 91. I blew the sucker up street racing (kind of). Sat in my mother’s garage for 20 years. I did a partial restore last year. I don’t have a lot of stories about that car but I think about my Dad every time I drive it now. My daughters don’t have much interest in it, but I plan to give it to my nephew one day and tell him about his grandfather who died before he was born. You’re right, it’s not about the car...but a means to remember those special to you and pass it on.

Everybody’s got that car that their dad, uncle or grandpa drove that just has a special place in their heart. Always a pleasure to hear about someone else’s.

We have a 77 Chevy with a 4 inch lift and a 454!!! Doesn’t have new paint we use it to get in and out of our ranch!!

Ive always been a chevy guy, but never really claimed to be up until recently, but my first classic vehicle was a rusty old POS of a 1985 ford shortbed out of Canada. Had a rebuilt 351 windsor out of a mercury cougar, mechanical 4x4, 3 inch frame lift. Bought it sight unseen, for 1100 bucks. Thing was killer. Truck had 666,668 miles on the OD, 66K on the rebuilt motor. Thing was rotty as hell, but it was mine, and my first "classic" My intentions was to make it a project, but when i went to inspect it further, the frame was rotted to hell. Since i was moving out of state in a month post buying it, i did not have the time, or short money to put into it like i had originally wanted to (damn pandemic), i ended up selling it to a friend for what i paid for it. This was back July. And since then, i have been scouting for another 85 shortbed ford.

god i love stories like this,i have a 1978 c10 i built in 2000 and both my grandfathers who are no longer with us (god rest their soul) my father me and now my son have all rode in that truck and i can wait to see her live on when my son turns 16

I love your 'Murrican stories about Chevys that outlived three generations. Here in Poland my dad had seven cars that I know about ( I'm 23yrs old ) Every single one of them has ended up on a junkyard because it was rusted through or crashed. Now my mum has 1.2L Skoda and I don't even wanna wash this shitbox because she'll be mad that I scratched it. Guess I should import myself some old Chevy :v

My Uncle gave me my Grandpa's 1966 Chevy c20 and I finally got the 327 back in and running, I love that truck and the memories that come with it

As usual Rabbit is sharing some of those gems of knowledge. The first of which being that Ford comment. I probably wasn’t but about 7/8 years old when my grandpa taught my brother and myself to drive. He had an old, beat up, but still very dependable Chevy pick up with a slant six and three on the tree. That truck was worn out Wayback then, but to me that thing would be worth a million dollars today. Memories like that can take a pile of metal attached to 4 wheels and turn it into A priceless time machine. Thanks for the memories Rabbit. 👍

The fifth and last time I saw my grandfather. The original Jon Anderson. Was at my fifth birthday. He pulled up in a 1991 grand marquis. He said he loved em and ran a couple to the ground. This one was brand new. Literally drove the car from the dealer to my party. It was big and maroon. That's one of a few things I remember about him. A couple weeks after I was placed in foster care. Don't have a great history of my fam or nothing. I do remember him saying something about if he didn't have the Mercury. He'd have a Lincoln towncar. So I guess to remember that my grandfather liked ford. I bought a 1985 towncar. The same year as me. The car is ten months older. The dashboard has a qc sticker that says 10 24 84. So I say that's the cars birthday. Named her Betty. Never be a rabbit story but. It's why I have my lincoln.

Nice truck. My grandpa had a 62 chevy c10 white short bed with a 4 speed. He had it all the way until 1988 and then bought a 88 Cheyenne heavy half 4x4 with a 350. Still has the 88 and it runs like a top.

My dad owned a body shop and always had cool cars. He flipped them daily and once I got attached to one he would sell it. He never fell in love with a car they were all pieces of shit to him. I am the opposite. I loved my 73 Satellite, My 74 Dart Sport, My olds 88 and my 74 Impala

My dad just past away a few months ago I have his 95 Ford F-150 it needs some work it looks like a Pete at night in the rear view wish I would have done more work to it before he passed he loved that truck

I had an uncle Bobby that couldn’t pronounce aluminum so he called it pluminer. Pluminer foil pluminer what have you. He died of cancer years back too but I still say pluminer myself

Got to tell ya ,my hang up is green vehicles,wrecked everyone except for my freighrliner classic i drive,its TEAL,blue,green it cant make up its mind,but da green cars were a 68 roadrunner and a 74 new yorker ,they flew like a jet fighter,but when i smashed em i was driving normal 55 mph or under ,ice for road runner,rain for new yorker,they just too light in thier ass ends ,,dats my sad verison of life...

Someone else understands no one understands why I keep driving my old truck my sister has tried for years to get me to sell it and I won’t let it go my grandfather drove it my dad drove it and it was my first car that thing won’t leave me until the day I die.

Actually had my project well one of is 84 k5 isn't one family well was supposed to be out of Washington I suspect from plates left in back some how made it to VT guy built it supposed frame offed it in his yard built motor w.e in the yard r sheds he had and was getting to the brakes when he passed I heard about it from his step daughter's and he left it to his step grandson and I got everyone ones blessing and went plowed a foot of snow and dug it out of a snow bank and loaded this 3-4 ton square body on a trailer with strap and comalong in -16 weather at night with no driveshafts or brakes was roughly 2 yrs ago but it say in that yard for 15-20 yrs from what I hear and i was first one to drive it and stop in it lot of b.s along the way but worth it she's getting good chunk of change put in it in next month r two to take my son out in it something old buck never got to do and am thankful Everytime I get in it I was able to save it cause literally could have pushed it by my self to scrap yard was that close
