In exclusive video obtained by "The Beat with Ari Melber," Trump adviser and ally Roger Stone is seen pushing a plot to overthrow the 2020 Election. In this report, Melber, MSNBC's Chief Legal Correspondent, breaks the exclusive news and reports on its wider context amidst several election probes and indictments. Another great video. Ari always comes off, at least to me, as presenting the facts. For example, in this video as he goes along and presents information he makes very clear what he is stating the evidence shows explicitly vs what would be a biased assumption and stands by the fact that he is not making the case that that assumption is accurate. Then at the end he reminds viewers that people governed by the laws of the United States are innocent until proven guilty and should be treated as such. I wish there were more quality fact based reporting sources like this. More facts, less opinions.

In my U.S. government class in highschool, we learned that the electors from the electoral college are not legally required to vote for the candidate with the most votes. They do so morally and ethically. But, they can legally vote for whomever they wish. They don't teach U.S. Government class in highschool anymore.

There’s no mechanism to reverse them, though. Neither the courts, nor Congress have a way to do it. It’s yet another a power that needs regulation. Instead of being “protocol”, having the pardons be based on new evidence, recommended by corrections officials, etc, needs to be LAW.

I think Trump and his people were making plans long before November about what to do if Trump lost the election since Trump was down in the polls months before the election.
