Great review on the cologne I’ve been wearing since it was unveiled back in the 80’s, yes I’m old. I continue to get compliments to this day on how good I smell. I’ve tried others but always return to Tuscany. It’s getting a little difficult to find these days but still available on line.
Totally realize I am late to the party on this one and you spoke about it a few years ago but I just received a bottle of it today. Same scenario my dad had this back in the day. Such an amazing pick up brought back memories. Love it the only thing that didn’t sit well with me is the price for it now 50 on fragrancenet lol .
John D i remember this scent from when my dad owned it when I was a kid, the bottle looked different but the scent is the same to me. The sharp opening and the soapy dry down makes this such a classic men’s scent !
Complex note breakdown and the I’m interested in that anise note. Always love the Aramis brand and think it deserves more respect in the fragrance space. I like the bottle designs. Reminds of the Havana one.
Awesome review, my man! This has been my go-to since the mid 2000’s when all of my 20 something peers were reaching for fragrances that made them smell like they’d showered in Cocoa Puffs (#NoThanks). Love this stuff. Keep it up! 🤜🏻
J. Edward Merrick thank you sir! I owe this scent to my dad he’s the one who had this around and allowed me to take it and wear it lol thank you for watching and commenting!
True italiannstyle classic. I just have and wear the tobacco reserve one. Absolutely masterpiece craftsmanship. I think this one it's a strong one even today formulation.
Timofti Flaviu yeah this one scent wise is very strong which is what I love most about it the sharp opening then the soapy dry down, it could last a bit longer but oh well lol
Hey my friend it's Mike from South Philly I just saw this review for the 1st time. Good job on the comments and I have a few Vintage bottles of Tuscany Per Uomo from the 1980s and I wore this when I was a teenager. I loved it then and I love it now. I wish It lasted a little bit longer though and the new version has of course been reformulated. It's ok but there's something missing from it and I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention it. Anywho overall I give the VINTAGE bottles an 8 out of 10 and if it lasted a couple more hours or so. It would have been a straight 10 out of 10. Good job on the review though anyway
Right well this review was not of the vintage since I don’t have it, I did when I was a kid but I can’t recall the performance unfortunately. I remember the clear bottle black writing at the bottom too. Thanks for watching! I
I still have this one in a vintage bottle from the early 90s. Quite miraculously, it still hasn't gone bad and it smells just gorgeous. I recently got a new bottle mainly to compare, and it's closer to the vintage one than I expected. But I'd still choose the vintage version any day all-day. There's something missing in the new one.
i remember the original one my dad had and it was very strong, i like this one a lot im glad its still being made! thank you for watching and commenting sir
Bro tobacco reserve by aramis is so fire brother i think you wud love it .. I cant believe their is no hype around it like it is in nobodies top ten tobacco scents . heavily slept on . i promise you will love it ..
XMr.Davis4 I almost bought that at a TJmaxx a while back I forget why I passed on it but I have smelled in a department store as well and it was very nice but I remember it being sort of sweet, I could be wrong
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey it does have a sweet cinnamon spice like rich tobacco but all in all to me very masculine i can see some ppl goin as far as calling it border line ol man ish but i was instantly captivated by it at first sniff and i dont see why ppl arent talking bout this one ..
Tuscany is awesome. I've heard people compare it to Azzaro pour Homme. But considering the reformulations, i think Tuscany is way way better and smoother than Azzaro pour Homme
Shahab Ganjavi I read that too but in my opinion Tuscany is much nicer than Azzaro pour Homme which I’m personally not a fan of anyway so I’d always pick Tuscany per Uomo !
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey No problem, you're welcome! I can check that store in chinatown where I bought my last one. It was a 50ml I think I paid $50 CDN. I'm sure they've got another. The sprayer on mine has died, so I might have to drill into it and decant, in which case I can definitely send you some.
Funny I was going to go down there anyway, explain that the sprayer on mine had failed and ask if for a deal, lemme get back to you, I'll let you know how that goes hehe
Okay update, just tried calling, person I spoke with said they have three in stock, asking price $75 (which I balked at). With this place, staffing is dodgy, there's one guy I know I can deal with, just a matter of timing. I'm looking for a deal to replace mine with the defective sprayer anyway, so if I can get a deal I'll gladly work you in. if I slide $100 cash across the counter for two bottles, I'm sure he'll go for it, in which case I could split with you if you're interested lmk
yet another update, person I spoke with at Perfume World suggested running hot water over the sprayer which I did, and that totally worked so I'm glad about that, and still able to swing buy for a bottle if you're interested
This one's a classic. I've never visited Tuscany, but somehow they've managed to create a scent which fits a confident man living in a Tuscan town. The vintage is worth sniffing out for the extra oak moss and longevity.
Randy Lahey yeah I only have a memory of the vintage version from when my dad had it when i was a kid, I really enjoy this one, Thank you for watching and commenting sir !
This, JHL and Adventurer are the last three Aramis fragrances i need before i have the collection (unless theres some i dont know about). Another great review friend 👍🏻
I really enjoy this one ! So fresh and lime-lemony ! I got the new version for a very nice price offer, and just now closed a deal on a vintage version so I can test the two - to find out if they differ in any ways, in terms of notes, projection and longevity.
Love the house of Aramis. They made a fragrance a lot of people looked over that won an award and that’s the Calligraphy Line. I wanna get my nose on that
Scents Of South Jersey yeah I really love Devin it’s one of my favorites. I say get that one next . 900 and JHL are also very good but you have to like floral notes because 900 has rose and JHL has rose and jasmine . New west I like also good spring summer scent .
Matt’s Gentlemen’s Channel I struggle with rose sometimes, with some scents I love the note like in “Perry Ellis by Perry Ellis” (the big 5oz bottle with black cap and amber color juice) and others I couldn’t stand it like VC&A Pour Homme
Scents Of South Jersey I don’t mind rose and florals but I also have women’s perfumes because I wear what I want . So if you struggle with them then I definitely say go for devin or new west next no florals there
Vintage is more floral and leans into soapy scent. The new formulation takes time to settle. But once it does, it stays citrus/woody/anis for a long time. So the Vintage is floral but the new is not. Perhaps it needs to macerate? Then again, do they macerate since they are chemically made accords?
wil wyse the opening can be challenging for some I totally get it, I am not an azzaro pour homme fan but I love this one and people say they are similar, the dry down of Tuscany is the soapy oakmoss I enjoy it too. Thank you for watching and commenting dude!
Anise is challenging for me. It reminds me of these black lollies from my childhood that still haunt me. But i guess it depends on how its blended because Star Anise is super nice in asian cooking. haha. I intend to try this after devin. I was gonna ask your thoughts on Adventurer but its fairly new.
TheHonestjbone I am not a fan of azzaro pour Homme believe it or not, I should revisit it but I had it and returned it, the anise and citrus in Tuscany is amazing though and I love the soapy dry down
Lowcrbnaman I own it and I just got open black which I might like better lol they are both on the list of what’s right come, thank you so much for watching and commenting bro!
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey can't wait for your review bro. I am from India and the thing is alot of the brands are not available here and if they're the transportation cost is very high. Nearly twice of what you pay. Roger and Gallet is only affordable brand I came across recently with good reviews. Can you tell me the longevity of both?
