I recently got myself a 40cm/16" Ashford SampleIt rigid heddle loom and I'm having such fun with it! I made myself a scarf for starters and that came out surprisingly well and now I'm weaving a little project as a gift for one of my daughters, so I won't say what it is, because even if she will never come here, it still needs to remain a surprise. All I can say is that I'm weaving 8/4 cotton yarn in 6 colours! Not bad for a gal who never wove before!

Allowing myself to cast on simple top down crew neck with John Arbon harvest hues 4 ply, for TV knitting, socks with crazy Zauberball, trying to master shadow wrap heel!! Waffle on ! Hello! How are you? Thank you for another lovely video - I love seeing you cast on new projects! I love your spinning wheel project spinner. Your projects are going to be gorgeous! After hearing your plans for casting on I've done the same. The Christmas period was busy for family visits and going all over the place so I have cast on slowly, starting with socks that I could work on while going on adventures. So far I've cast on sock weight, DK vanilla socks, a couple of slipper socks (DK and Aran), and a Diaphanous Raglan sweater. I'm going to be casting on the Mecha shawl today! Thank you for a fun cast on party, I'm loving seeing everyone's cast-ons- so many amazing projects!

Hi Ange! I am five cast on in! My friends are having minor fits. “Another cast on??” Totally don’t get it, but hey ho… I’m having way too much fun! So far, Witch Hazel, cardigan. Eyeblink shawl, Vanilla socks in lovely green woodpecker, Jessamin in Linen ( ouchy) and last night I cast on White Russian by Thea Coleman! Your brioche looks lovely… I have a cowl planned in brioche. Happy knitting!

I've cast on another mitred square blanket. This time, using some yak in jewel colours. It's the 3rd of Jan, still haven't any socks on the needles. Will have to remedy that. I am making my first mitred square blanket and loving it! I am also on the foot of the first waffle pattern sock.

Your hat is looking so lovely and squishy! It's making me want to knit some brioche. I've cast on three things so far. First was a pair of socks for a friend that are sort of in the Fidget Socks pattern except that I'm ignoring everything it says except for the stitch pattern, and even that looks a bit different because I'm going cuff down instead of toe up 😂. Second cast on is the Jacaranda Street Lace Shawl, which is for a different friend who's getting married next December. I'm a little obsessed with this one, it's my first ever time knitting with laceweight yarn. Third project is socks for me in one of the Uneek Yarns kits. No pattern for these, but I'm planning to make them knee high with a mock cable up the side of the leg. I'm hoping the mock cable will lie much flatter than a normal cable so that the socks are comfortable inside my boots. Sorry, that was a bit of an essay! I have a lot to say about my projects, it seems! 😂

Thanks again. V enjoyable. Started a new big spin today - superfine merino in a a lovely silvery grey. To pair up with some Pig snout Appledore (John Arbon), which is already spun. Planned to be a pressed flower sweater.

Right now, right now I am sewing myself a project bag, made of stash upholstery fabric and a woven swatch (I've even left the weaver's heddle notes that were handsewn onto each section, for now, our cat might try to eat them, so they probably won't last), I'm super excited about it. I think it'll be complete by the time I've caught up with your episodes.

It's not a hard pattern, its maunly slip stitch and they seem to be having a habit of slipping off and way down rows . I think I should have frogged it and re started it, either that or used a different colour of yarn. Other 12castons for me are: Hinterland, 3rd pair of socks from my advent skein by freckled whimsy and a cowl, the pattern had been printed for years, so I paired it will some of my oldest stash too.

So far I have cast on a Range shawl, Matilda Lady sweater, and a Doodle cowl. I plan to cast on a few things from books this weekend. It has been busy at work and I have been sick so it is putting a damper on starting new stuff. I am mainly knitting on second socks right now and my cozy memories blanket. Always love sharing in your cast on fun this time of year!

I've been knitting on my Christmas socks because I want to wear them. But I am about to cast on a color work gnome--(gnome is where you hang your hat?) This is my first time doing colorwork where you carry your yarn, so I'm excited.

I am making trinagle brioche cowl. There is a lot of mistakes, but I like it just the same.

I was knitting away on one of my cast ons while I watched this (Frosty Path Mitts). I decided that pulling out my mitred square blanket and choosing colours for the next row counts as a new cast on, so I did that yesterday, after a brief spot of sunshine between downpours and storms a day or so before that. I only work on it in winter and it's been an ongoing project for at least 6 years I think. Also my needles I ordered before Christmas finally arrived yesterday, so hopefully I will have time to start my cardigan today. I looked at the pattern last night and it's in dutch and I'd run out of brain power already. Why do I do this to myself? 😂

Instead of casting on I have decided to pickup one of my WIPs each day. 1st is Gansey Style Crochet Afghan. Not sure how many WIPs I have but i am about to find out😬😬🥰
