I hope you enjoy your time with your gran. I know the disease can be rough on caregivers. My MIL had it. A great group of prompts this month!! I agree with the Rya seater. It would be great to finish that sweater. I'm working on socks and a wedding shawl. I bought a bunch of DK sock yarn to make socks for the grands. The wedding shawl is made of Purl Soho Linen Quill - a linen alpaca blend that has a gorgeous hand to it. I would love to cast on a summer top, too. I bought a sweater quantity of TruBoo last summer in coral.
I got back into spinning again thanks to you, so yes, I am kind of low key spinning along for myself, doing some small projects: Attempting a 3-ply from red and yellow fibre (25g) I bought on a trip to Scotland a few years ago and some BFL that I got from a friend when I set out to spinning on a new Dealgan I bought! I'd also love to learn how to ply onf the fly. We'll see! ;) (Lots of love to you and your family, as always.)
I'm going to attempt Steven West's Peminguino with Livestock Conservency ( US) fibers. Still processing and acquiring the fibers. For TDF I'm making yarn for my granddaughter, refinishing a Wee Peggy.
Your cardigan plan sounds very interesting! I’m basically a knitter, with spinning as a “backup” hobby. However, I’m very interested in learning/seeing how other spinners use their hand spun yarn in knitting projects. So, I look forward to seeing your progress on your cardigan. I’m fairly new to your channel, but one of your prior videos on supported spindle spinning really caught my attention, so I subscribed! I have a Turkish spindle that I like very much, but I also have a Shacht Matchless and a Hansen e-spinner. No plans for TdF this year… Just going to do what I want, when I want…! Good luck with your plans, and I hope your family issues resolve themselves soon, and in a positive manner!
Rye sweater gets my vote 🤩 I have a painful thumb at the moment, can’t knit, but can crochet 🥳 And spin, thank goodness! So I’m spinning my TdF gradient and I recently got a new car, a VW fox, so I may be slightly obsessively crocheting ALL the foxy things 😂
I’ll vote for the Rya. Good luck with all your projects and family obligations this month. I’m sure you’ll sneak in some crafting time as you care for others. Did your Gran knit?
I vote for the Love Note. I think it will be good to have a project that is a bit more intense with lace, as the other projects take a bit less brain power. I'm finishing up More Than 1 Direction from Noro. I'm weaving in a million ends on my Poison Oak by Carina Spencer (??) and of course trying to do something spinning related during TDF.
Thank you Vicky, that is a really good point about the lace knitting. It sounds like you have some lovely projects to keep you company in the coming weeks (though maybe not the weaving in ends thing 🤣)
I vote for the Rya sweater as it's looking stunning so far. Hope your stay with your Nan goes well. I'm working on the Sirdar Blossoms and buds CAL and some socks.
Carry on with your RIA, l cant wait to see it finished. This month lm knitting 5 pairs of socks, 2 of them shorties and lm spinning 5 50g bumps of Fresh Orande mixed bag from World of wool
Hi Ange! Hope you are well. I’m still working on Saven for my son-in-law. I’ve finished a few things from my 12 cast ons, but still have 8 to go. Have a nice time visiting your Gran!
I vote for the Rya sweater. I am working on a pair of men socks for a friend's grandson. I will cast on my Christmas in July socks today July 1st. I am also working on a double knit coaster.
Thank you Teresa. It sounds like you have a lovely variety of projects to work on in July. I’ve not tried the double knit technique but it looks really interesting 😃
I vote for a Lovenote. I hope you get your Granny to chat about her life. My daughter has a day centre for people with dementia and I love hearing about their lives. They might not remember the immediate but do remember their distant past. x
I vote for the Rya sweater as I’m really interested in seeing how this construction works. This month I will be continuing trying to master spinning on my drop spindle, carrying on with one of my many unfinished shawl projects, continuing to work on my Lottie linen cotton top before summer finishes and looking for some hand spun in my stash to cast on something new
Oh it sounds like you have some wonderful plans Deborah, I especially love the thought of a new handspun cast on. Will look forward to hearing about your new project 😃🧡
i also vote for the ryan sweater, it will turn out so beautiful. I will devote July and August to my numerous wips, as i want to take part to the next 12 cast ons (2025). Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
Lovely to see you. My vote is for the Rya sweater as I’m fascinated by the construction and think it looks great so far! I hope your stay with your gran goes well and it’s lovely your Uncle will be able to take a break! For the TDF I am practicing my spinning by using my spindles and Nano alternating to hopefully produce more consistent yarn by the end of the tour! Take care x
I vote the Rya! This TDF I am finishing the Dandelion Starlite and knitting the Tee No1. I have also slated working through my bag of almost dones and if I get through those, go through my WIPs and try to complete the almost dones to clear off as many needles as I can. I hope you have an enjoyable time with your Nan and that you get lots of knitting and/or spinning time in July! xx
Hey Ange x Sal here x although I would really enjoy watching you cast on another lovenote, I have to say it would be soooo fine to see the Rya Sweater ready for you to wear in the less warm months to come x so much love to you, James and,Newt x hope all goes well for you at your Nans, and with all your family visits xxx loving your poddies, az alwayz xx
I vote for the Rya sweater. I hope you have a lovely visit with your Nan. It's wonderful that you are able to give your uncle the opportunity to take a holiday. Caring for a loved one is noble but can also be quite taxing. Much love to you. ❤
I've been hoping you'd start that love note ever since you spun that gorgeous yarn, so that gets my vote straight away! Hope family time goes OK, can your gran knit? Xx
@@YarnNYarns maybe its something you can do with her when you stay. I love to do it with my ladies, these skills persist even when memories have faded. Hope you have a good time with her. Xx
Hi Ange. Hope you're ok. Sounds like you've got your hands full during July. I choose the ryha sweater. Save the love note until you've more head space. Spending time with your grandmother will be special for you both. I intend to make socks during July. They're for our son and his partner. At the moment, they're travelling around South America. Due home around December. I figured they would appreciate some woolly socks afrer being away. Look after yourself. Xx💕🌈
I am sending you a big hug and hope that your uncle with have a great holiday and that you can enjoy some time with your gran. :) My vote is for the Rya sweater, seeing something grow and closer to finishing is always great! (I'll finally try to knit that vest for my granddad ... Which... hasn't seen ANY progress. But at least the sweater for our godson got done in time. ;) AND I finished a pair of socks which I cast on in April. PHEW.
Hi Ange. I am voting for Love Note. For Neck prompt, I am knitting on my Sophie Shawl, for Handspun, I am working on project with Noro yarn. For my You Tube I have to CO Letho cardigan no matter what is picked up because it is knit sideways like Rya and is new CO like Love Note. Logical, isn't it? 😅😜 I will have to ponder the Spin prompt. Have a nice July, dear Ange
