twelve o'clock high : S1E01 Golden Boy Had 9 Black Sheep 

My father flew with the 9th Air Force 391st Bombardment Group out of Matching England. He was a Bombardier/ Navigator in a B-26 and was credited with 78:combat missions 3 of which were on D-Day . He was awarded the "Distinguished Flying Cross". I was born in 1955 and he and I watched 12 O'clock every week together . My dad will turn 101 years old this September . He has always been and always will be my hero . THE GREATEST GENERATION !!

My husband’s cousin, John Kriegshauser, was the B-17 pilot of the famous Mi Amigo. The plane had been fatally crippled across the Channel, with injured personnel, and started going down over Sheffield, England. The only place to land was a park, but it was in the city and was full of schoolchildren. John made the decision to crash into a nearby hillside instead, thereby killing all 10 aboard, but saving the children and the surrounding city. He and the crew are still honored to this day in Sheffield. There was a book written about it too. He was only 23 years old.

I loved this show back in the '60's and I still love it. My uncle was a B-17 squadron commander and I always loved that this show used real combat footage. Even though these episodes are 50 years old now I think they are better than most of what is on offer today. And Robert Lansing was stellar.

As a kid growing up in the 60's in Cleveland, this show inspired me to enlist in the U.S. Air Force where I was in an Air Rescue unit in the Vietnam Era.

My next door neighbor was Robert Lansing's Father and younger Brother. Robert would often stop by and visit (Alhambra Calif) His real last name is Brown, Lansing was his Hollywood name....

Robert Lansing was completely awesome. Great script and writing. Episode even had a guest appearance by Bruce Dern!

That grin as Savage walks away from the plane is just about worth the whole episode.

Shout out to the late great Dominic Frontiere for composing the great 12 O'clock High theme score. He also composed the themes to some of favorite 60's shows, including the Outer Limits, The Invaders, The Rat Patrol and many others. All were/are outstanding. Gotta find a way to get back there (the 1960's), it's where I belong.....

Loved 12’O Clock High when I was a kid. My next door neighbor was a Navigator in a B-17. Stationed in England with the 8th Air Force. Loved his War Stories. He since has passed, flew in the 909 a couple of years ago. Great Experience, Sad to see it go down. RIP to the People who perished 🇺🇸

There were two shows I loved as a kid: Combat with Vic Morrow and 12 O'clock High. Gosh I love these airplanes.

I discovered Twelve O'Clock High on METV in 2010. I knew Robert Lansing from Star Trek. I fell head over heels in love with this show and him after seeing the episode that happened to be playing the first time I saw it. I'm glad I can now watch it here. Thanks for posting these.

I get chills when the theme plays.

Lansing made this one of my most watched shows as a pre teen.

It was good seeing Bruce Dern in that role. Did a good job flying towards the cliff1

I have everyone of this season I bought them about 12 years ago it cost me $625 but I wanted them an glad I have them all even got a press bock with them I use to each them back in 1964 whan it came out was a great show still like it I'm glad you post it I been watching than thank for post them even I got my own I still watch yours thanks again

I watched this show with my father when I was a kid. He flew on B-29’s from Tinian. Great times.

Best theme music of all time; even better than Band of Brothers and Victory at Sea. And my God those B17's were beautiful in the air. We just lost the Collins Foundation's Fortress; I've seen her in the air half a dozen times flying into and out of air shows, and what a magnificent sight.

One of best episodes. Excellent script, story (a lot borrowed from original movie), dialogue. Great exchanges between Gallagher and Savage. Great series. We don't see tv written and acted like this today...except I don't watch tv today so maybe I'm wrong.

I loved this when I was little. We watched all the WW2 series, including the comedies. Dad was a Korean vet and he seemed to be okay with the war before. He wouldn't watch MASH, said it was too close to the reality. I am STILL a B-17 nut!

Wow! This has got to be the best episode of this series. Straight through action. Loved every second. Top level script and acting. Bruce Dern was a very nice surpeised. Great at playing a jackass, but did great getting straight and flying right.

Thanks to u for putting this on. My uncle was in the Army Air Corp. He was shot down and spent some time in a pow camp. THANKS to all those young men who went to war to give us our freedoms we value today. As the say freedom is never free.

This is one of my all-time favorite TV series I watch growing up. Watching those B-17's , stories and that music is still great to hear. It reminds of one of my Uncle's that pilot B-17's during WWII.🦅🇺🇸

This is the show that influenced me to enlist in the U.S. Air Force the day after I turnedn17, had my GED from Job Corps, served in an Air Rescue unit during Vietnam-Era

Ah yes, the great trifecta: The Rat Patrol Combat 12 O'clock High Took 53 years to get my Aussie slouch hat with correct WW2 badge. Played with a Tommy gun once; too heavy for me. First job in the Air Force: Defensive Aerial Gunner on B-52H models. Yes, your childhood does sometimes influence your later life choices.

I'm glad the powers-that-were used Mr. Burke for this episode and brought him back for one more in the first season, then to head up the rest of the series.

I loved this show as a 'yiddle' boy back in the 60's, and it inspired me to become a civilian general aviation pilot, seven years after my daughter was born, in '06. She got to fly with my flight instructor, Jason Bullard, even younger than Gallagher in this episode. Jason taught me how to fly. This episode shares something important and quite true. It is actually quite easy to learn how to fly, most solo after their fifth or sixth flight. But it takes time to become a pilot, a boat skipper, or a driver who does well during long commutes--one has to get over those inside demons and remember that moving a motored object a long way is a full time job. Though it is nice to listen to music while driving, or flying..... Or having family or a colleague next to you to keep the process from being boring. Twelve O'Clock High has stood the test of time as good TV with good backstories, not so much about war but about how we grow and learn to cope with our personal stress while relating affection to those who support us.

My dad's first cousin flew with the 100th Bomb Group in WWII. His first mission was the 29th January 1945. He flew to the end of the war and he flew a couple of chow hound missions. He stayed for 32 years in the Air Force. His last combat mission was as a wing commander in Viet Nam. He retired in 1975 and passed in 2016.

The GREATEST series ever filmed, and season ONE is by far the best of them Thank You, Robert Lansing !!!

1965 was the best game on the playground, the monkey bars were set up perfectly for a group of boys to imagine they were in a B-17, many of us had uncles or fathers who were 🙏 thank you for posting, I’m just going to go hang out on the monkey bars 😎👍

This tv show is my most favorite WWII show. The ending credits music is my favorite of all time! Robert Lansing was tops. I'm 72 years old now, I was 14 in 1964 and living in Massachusetts at the time! The military brought me to California in 1972. Years later at an event I met Paul Burke (Col. Gallagher). He lived in Palm Springs at the time! We became good friends till he passed. I was disappointed at first when Robert Lansing left the show but since I met Paul Burke, it was a good experience to meet him and his wife! I never had the honor to meet Robert Lansing. As a teenager I wanted to change my name to Robert Lansing! It would have been easy since my real name is Robert Lanthier--- 'thier to change to --- sing.

This show is just as good as I remembered.

My grandfather was the ball gunner on a B-17. He got shot down once over the channel and was rescued by British coastal command. I don't know how missions he went on. He also met my grandmother, an English gal, over there and after the war she came to America on the HMS Queen Mary.

There are lines in this taken directly from the 1949 movie with Gregory Peck. This was one of my favorite series as a kid, and am very appreciative of the chance to see them again. Tks for posting.

Even if this great show had been in color we didn't get a color set until Dec 1967. I'll never forget tho as a 7 yr old kid that 1st cartoon Saturday w/that new RCA color console and I realized many cartoons were in color! LOL

P.S. The theme song, as I said in the next post, is my all time favorite piece of music without a doubt. No other tv shows since then has ever captured this true American treasure! I'm 72 and a Vietnam war veteran, U S Air Force. When my lady day on earth comes, I want the 12 O'clock High tv show theme to play at my funeral! It'll be a major impact on those attending my military funeral! God bless you all that loved this historical tv show!

Super fun video. I notice the 1960s series network imprimatur common to westerns and war programs: Men will be tough men; there is always a moral lesson underwriting the story; the music is symphonic and motivating. Takes me back to the glory days of television and movies when one felt good when the show was over. Not quite in the realm of Gregory Peck's Twelve O'clock film, but sufficiently reminiscent. I'll watch the series. Glad it's available.

I'll have to make an effort to watch all of these.....along with the1949 film. I'd just turned 9, when this series premiered......and don't think I've ever seen a single episode in its entirety. Either the show aired past my bedtime.....or my parents were watching something else. I remember watching a lot of the other WWII series 'Combat' though.

This show accompanied me in my childhood. Looked forward to the title music every week.

I used to watch this as a kid. Learned alot about discipline. Something that is lacking nowadays. A great realistic show.

Robert Lansing was great as General Savage (as good as Gregory Peck in the film role). Huge mistake killing him off after first aeason. The first season was the best because of him. I never noticed before, but a lot of the music in this series was the same as the music in Quinn Martin's "THE OUTER LIMITS." Save money in production whenever and wherever you can. Thanks for putting these online for us diehards to relive some great childhood memories.

When I watched episodes of this as a kid, Gallagher was always a colonel. Nice to finally see some really early episodes! And Star Trek's "Gary Seven" as the 1st general in his chain of command!

I knew who Robert Lansing was, but I'd never seen him in this show. He was a sensation! I saw this show a few times as a kid, but only after Paul Burke became the star. It's as shame that Lansing couldn't get along with Quinn Martin who, during my childhood was one of the most powerful producers in TV--The FBI, Cannon, Barnaby Jones, etc. Thanks so much for posting this, and other episodes.

Galiger, Paul Burk ended up as commander on session 2 and finished out the series. Love this show.

Thanks !I remember watching this over summer break here in the Dallas Area. I guess I was 11 or 12, 13.Come in for lunch and watch 12 O'clock high then Perry Mason. Then back out to conquer the world, with Honor.I bet this along with the John Wayne WWII movies, all the WWII movies from the 50's and 60's, some from the 70's mostly taught me what is an American.Watching all of them again.

Thank you so much for posting these! I was a 10 year old year old kid who this show came on, and I loved it. My favorite model was a Revell B-17, probably a lot of boys my age loved that model too! My uncle Willie was a ball turret gunner in the 8th Air Force which made me love this show also. I a sure there are a lot of guys my age(62) who have fond memories of this show!

To be fair, Galligher (Gately) became an exemplary officer and squadron commander piloting an top notch air crew. It took a superior leader to shake him out of his instinctive fear. The movie was written and directed by people who were actually in the group.

I used to watch this after Johnny Quest when it was on in the mid 60’s. It started at 6PM and then living on a farm in the boonies, bedtime was 7:30 for me as a young kid so could get up to get chores done before school. Great TV.

Recently found this show on the H&I channel on Saturday nights @ 1am. And I love it. An absolutely amazing show.

Superb show on all levels. Sadly, there is not a single American TV show being broadcast today that is even remotely close to the quality of this first episode of "Twelve O'Clock High"

My dad was a Radio/side gunner on the B-17 . He trained with Norman Lear who later became a TV producer , they kept in touch for years . My dad lived till he was 95 , Norman Lear is still with us at 100 !

"I'm going to make you lay square eggs." Never, never, NEVER tick off General Savage. Gallagher is a burr under Savage's saddle but, the general made Joe one hell of a pilot and later, an excellent C.O.

Great show which my parents didn't watch. My father had seen this first hand. So I finally got to watch it at 60 instead of at 12 years old.Robert Lansing was the archetype for this role and was forced out due to a disagreement with Quinn Martin. QM essentially shortened the run of his series by canning Lansing. Larkin was also GREAT as Wiley. He died during the first SEASON; heart attack.

I am really so very happy to finally get to watch these. This series surely also played a role in my desires to join the military and serve my country. I am very grateful to you for putting them here. And to those who can do nothing but nit-pick here, I am glad I didnt serve with you. Shame on you. Take this for what it is and enjoy the drama.

Didn’t remember that Paul Burke had appeared in the series prior to taking over the lead. I was sorry that Lansing departed, but Burke was always a solid actor. Loved him in Naked City.

Had to watch it once again, because every time I searched for 12 o’clock high RU-vid would show the opening shot with (then) Captain Gallagher as the planes were returning from a mission, the one where he had engine trouble, it shows Gen Savages genius in making fighting men out of these crews.
