Vergil, of course, took the name Ucalegon from Homer, who mentions him once, in the third book of the Iliad (line 148). Homer says that Ucalegon and Antenor are wise people, and they live, amongst many others, near Priam. Beside this there is only the name itself, which clearly describes its carrier.
