Blowdrying vs Towel Drying! I still use towels for small wipe up's but the blower is king for drying your car after a detail or just a basic wash and here is why!

A lot easier and more effective on a big truck. Saves on towels, saves your arms. I have a 765CFM EGO with the stubby nozzle....it whines but not as much as I used to do when my 75 year old arms got tired.

I like towel drying bc I can use drying aid that also gives the paint a glow, product like Adam's detailing spray. I do plan on using a blower of some sort to get into nooks such as wheels, side mirrors, then drying w/towel after. Thanks for the great vid.

The more you have to touch a vehicle's paint, the more opportunity to scratch or remove/weaken any coatings. I recently coated a new vehicle using Chemical Guys Hydroslick and the water flies off with the EGO 650. I still use a microfiber towel to get those areas where it wants to continue dripping but I no longer have to touch 95% of the car.

Already clean? I think you meant CLEEEEEAAAANNNN! Nice car. Came here looking at the blower, but like the car too. and I did want to see you dry the car with the blower. I have a 2007 350z that I've owned since new. Want to see how much this this might save me.... and a no-touch dry which is a big plus. Great video...

Doubt u use a "Shammy", maybe a Chamois? But I really didn't think they still sold Chamois for drying cars since microfiber became available.

Bought this blower for my wife because she cant start my gas stihl. I use it more then her to dry my prelude. Clean S2000 man. Supposedly obsessed garage might make a smaller tube made just for drying cars.

After I switched from wax to ceramic, using the leaf blower to dry off the car, the water flies off the car super fast...I barely touch it with a microfiber towel now when I dry. If you're going to use a blower to dry the car, I highly recommend some kind of ceramic, weather it's a ceramic soap, detailer or coating...

I also use my leaf blower to remove snow off my car in St. Louis, it's much quicker and less work than using a brush, broom or other type of device.

you should checkout our blowerbands to not accidently scratch or nick your paint when using the blower.

Been interested in trying this method but does it work if the car isn’t waxed yet? Or does it need some hydrophobic coating to really do the job? Thanks

It works just fine if your car isn't coated. A good coating just aids in the ease of removal as the water tends to bead due to the low surface energy (created by the coating) and just rolls off. You can achieve this with some of the more affordable spray on coatings like Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax, Griots 3n1 Ceramic or Turtle Wax Spray Ceramic Coating which can be bought at your local parts store.

@@kamrankp85 It just depends on whether you want a perfect job or not. Also, you don't want to get too close the car with the blower to avoid accidentally hitting the car.

I have the 530 and the turbo button is a must. I also purchased a clip to hold the turbo button down and a stubby nozzle via Etsy and it's still much more ergonomic when operating. Hope this helps

I just bought a really cheap $20 sun Joe blower to give this a try and it is not very effective. It kind of just blew the water into super thin spidery lines and took a really long time. It was good for the wheels and crevices though. I may splurge and buy a better blower tho because I hate putting a towel to my car.

You need a higher cfm blower. A torx blower is cheap. At least 450 cfm is the way to go

Do you encounter problems with wet spots after you blow dry it? I bought an ego 650 blower and use it for the first time but afterward it leaves water spots left on the car.

Afrer i air dry I go back over it very lightly with a detailer spray like bead maker and a perfectly clean microfiber towel.

I did, when in turbo mode you have about 15 mins of runtime.

You are correct. I did find using a fresh, really absorbent towel was quick but there were a few problems: 1. The towel loses its absorbency over time. 2. The towel can’t get water out of areas such as mirrors, emblem areas, vents, ducts etc. 3. If not extra extra careful a towel can collect debris that could scratch the paint while drying. IMHO air drying is best. Reducing the physical contact you have with the paintwork is best. I will be purchasing a dedicated car dryer soon that offers heated air but I do thing I will continue to use this blower due to its convenience.

You may be having issues with either your water being "hard" or packed with mineral deposits. If possible wash the car in the shade and avoid direct sunlight as this could evaporate the water and leave deposits from the hard water. Also, make sure you are using a good quality PH balanced shampoo as this could help. I would have your water tested as this could be a common is depending on where you live. You would need to soften the water using a filtration/deionizer system to remedy this but is the most expensive option. Also, a good glass ceramic coating will also help prevent this in the future.

Adams Polishes master red blower is so much better than a blower I have both look into that the 650 isn't meant for cars

Do you have the Adams? Curious because I'm always looking for the latest and greatest. I love the cordless and multi-purpose nature of the Ego but I see the Adams has heat which would be nice.

I bought a cordless leaf blower specifically for my black powder coated. I wash my car at a wash bay, so I drive my car home right after, and wet wheels with rusty rotors is a horrible combination.
