I too am interested. Make a clamshell that is thick, UV protectant, equal pressure around the entire cardback, and most importantly for me, a low or shallow shell. Star cases leave way too much room between the bubble of the cardback and the clamshell itself. I put mine in Rubbermaid bins and there's so much wasted space in them. If the shells were smaller I could fit double of what fit in the bins now.

@@RyanByrne999 i do not think that is possible with current design of the cards, the blister need to be more above the bottom of card, that bother me a bit to, it seems all the blisters if not most are not 100% sealed there is always a break in the blister at bottom

@@topbanana4013 True! To be honest I don't even use star cases. My protector of choice are Figure Shields. They're more expensive than Star cases, but worth it to me. Better overall protection, better quality plastic, and again most important to me is that they are slimmer than star cases. I can fit like 25% more of them in Rubbermaid bins opposed to Star Cases.

@@OnlyOneKenobi I like the way you tried to go high-tech but a brick could work too. There's nothing magic about it* - the magnets are just providing one type of force to help flatten the card and something heavy could have the same effect. You could crunch the numbers, there may be magnets strong enough to mimic a large press but I'd be concerned that if you went too strong the force wouldn't be spread out enough and you'd end up leaving magnet-shaped debts in the card. You could make a kind of "card sandwich" with two flat sheets of board or plastic, one with a bubble-sized hole in it and you could then solidly clamp them together, give it a light steam and leave it to flatten out over a day or so. Or perhaps just take it as a message that being a carded collector is just fighting a losing battle against the forces of Nature - entropy will always get you in the end. * Well there might be - I did A Level Physics and I'm still not convinced there isn't something a bit witchy-woo about magnets.

@@OnlyOneKenobi On the earlier line Moore Action Collectables a few of mine the bubbles have gone yellow but on Diamond Select all of them are clear bubbles but not to worry! I would say humidity definitely matters. At low humidity no trick is likely to work. 80-90% or so (humidor environment) would be most likely ideal for the fibres in the paper to reshape. Use a hygrometer. Keep in mind that any uncovered earea will absorbe more moisture so using magnets like this may leave an imprint. Also beware of mold.

Yep you can use a towel between your card and the iron it works beautifully

If they're strong enough... they'll have same effects as a heavy weight. One thing I am gonna take from the comments section, is people's suggestion of moisture... so I could well use the magnetic trick in a steamy bathroom after a shower perhaps 🤔🙃

Haha 😆 People have been saying that is a method though... to bend the opposite way. I'd need to rig up something with some clamps etc, in order to get it to work I reckon... 👌🏼
