Hello Michael, Thanks for sharing your RSD pickups. I did not know you could some of them on CD which would be much cheaper. Love Desire! My favorite song is "One More Cup of Coffee". Have a good week.
Hey Michael, Before Hofmann....very nice. 🙂 Sweet Zappa, YES, CDs....really nice, Lacy/Waldron. That's still my favorite Peter alongside Passion. Thanks for sharing and happy spin-age. -Carm
Hi Carm! Security was one of the records that I played over and over in that summer on 1982...along with Imperial Bedroom and All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes. Thanks for watching!
Nice shirt Michael. I once had ( I kid you not) a homemade Peter Hammill shirt an acrylic artist friend of mine did freehand. Nobody knew who the image was...constantly stopped by strangers asking 'Who is that, man?'🤣🤪
I also circled back for that Sun Ra - “Pink Elephants on Parade.” I really enjoyed Someday My Prince Will Come with June Tyson and The Second Star To The Right on the b side.
Nice retro pick ups Michael. Desire rarely gets mentioned for some reason, and Hard Rain is very good. The. Tubes record is a collection essential. Cheers.
I truly wish I liked YES more than I do. I disappoint myself lol! Love the splatter vinyl; so fun to break up the usual black sometimes :) As always could listen to you yammer all day! Xo Ambie
Yes was my absolute favorite band for a while in the '70s. I was obsessed with them. But their later music took the shine off. I'm still a sucker for the colored vinyl! Always so glad you stop by. Cheers!
Hi Michael, cool finds. I’ve been meaning to delve into some Sun Ra for a while and know Disneys Pink Elephants sequence…. trippy! You can never go wrong with The Who… pity the packaging isn’t up to scratch. Desire is a masterpiece… Scarlet Rivera’s violin is just amazing. Like you say, the storytelling is phenomenal. The lyrics to Joey are so good. Liked & subbed! Cheers, Jack
The Sun Ra record sounds a blast. I’m not a fan of splatter vinyl but it works well for that Zappa for president album. Like the mock early bootleg artwork on the Yes release too. You actually made a RSD video very enjoyable! Take care, John.
I really liked Desire, it is one of my favorite Dylan album, to your point it is about the story telling. That Yes album has a very cool cover. I did not kill myself watching another RSD pickup video lol
Great albums..! I need a copy of that 1st Tubes also. I picked up the other Sun Ra release on RSD but should go back and find the one you have here. Thanks for the videos. Keep them coming..!
Hi Richard, thanks for watching! I avoided the Beefheart because I still have my original copy of Spotlight Kid and I have most of the bonus tracks elsewhere. But I am intrigued by the presence of a 14-minute track. Shades of Mirror Man!
I too picked up the Yes release post RSD. However for me it proved a mistake as I'd already got it! It was released a while back as a limited release called Live USA 71 on the London Calling label. That one comes in orange vinyl, in a better cover with an informative insert and was at least £10+ cheaper. More importantly I think it even sounds better. Oh dear! At least the band should hopefully get something from the RSD release. I too love Dylan's story songs, though I've always felt a little unease with the subject matter of Joey. All the best...Pete
Hi Pete! The existence of the unofficial release of the Yes is probably what led to the RSD version! Yes, "Joey" is a bizarre subject for an ode, and even "Hurricane" is a bit problematic...certainly Dylan played fast and loose with the facts, but it's a great yarn.
Hi M! Interesting finds. I'll have a closer look at the Cannonball/Duke and FZ,of course.(I wonder why Zappas estate does'nt release the completed "FZ plays the music of E. Varese...😲) Anyway, all the best from Sweden.✌️😎
