In this episode, Lucas @BoostYourBiology invites Elliot Overton to talk about how Vitamin B1 is so critical to optimal health. They explore an underground type of B1, called TTFD that has excellent bioavailability.
Thiamine is a water-soluble B vitamin (B1) that plays essential roles in the breakdown of glucose and fatty acids for energy, in the metabolism of amino acids, and in maintaining a healthy antioxidant system. Thiamine is especially important for the health of the brain and nervous system, where it maintains energy production, neurotransmitter balance, and nerve cell function.
Unfortunately, most forms of thiamine supplementation have poor oral bioavailability. This is where Elliot breaks down all you need to know.
This is a re-post from NOFilter Media.

I am 70 and believe I have been B1 deficient all my life. Chronic constipation all my life. I recently was prescribed cannibis for pain and the one thing cannibis did was to help me start going normally without herbs. So I looked up the nutrients in it and then began studying each nutrient which led me to B1. OMG, I had nearly every symptom! It makes me angry that my doctors never had me tested. I tried the carnivore diet and within 3 days my digestive system shut down! I plan to be tested to be sure, but explains many of the health problems my whole family has had for decades! Do they just want us to be sick is my question?

Thank you . Day 3 and a noted level of improvement in energy, cognition and ability to focus. My interstitial cystitis frequency has dramatically improved. Having CFS/autoimmune and chronic pain EDS/IC/endo means I have tried everything. Even LDN did not do for me what Thiamine is doing. Some mild side effects, but I just increase the potassium and mag and take my activated B group. I can now handle methyl B, whereas before Thiamine I couldn't! I hope this message gets out there. You are giving people their life back. As a parent and a busy employee I battle daily - it is a fight against fatigue and pain. I see this as my ticket to some form of normality. I finally have hope. I’ve just recently recommended high strength niacin for a friend who has quite bad migraines. She had an attack and then took the niacin for the second time of ever taking the supplement (first time was to experience the flush), her migraine went with 20mins! The blood vessel dilating effects of niacin, release the hypertension on the blood vessels at the back of the neck and therefore get to the root of the problem of migraines. My gran has had a slight leg wound on both shins and they never healed. Not serious or deep damage more like the skin was scraped against a rock. 9 months of bandages, creams, tests and antibiotics and they still wouod not heal. For the last week she was suffering with a lack of energy and being unable to breathe right. When I heard that my mind went right to B1 and I thought "its worth trying" so I took her up a bottle. Her breathing improved within an hour but it was 24 hours later she looked like a new person. Able to walk without her walker, wasn't such a struggle to get up stairs. But it was her mood, energy levels and improved breathing that was the most noticable. A week later and she was no longer freezing cold all the time. After taking the TTFD B1 for about 5 days she got her bandages changed. Mind these are wounds that haven't healed in almost a year! The nurse was shocked and mentioned the improvement straight away especially the bad edema - it was gone. I didn't know about the edema as her legs were always covered but it is 1 of the major signs of beriberi. So is being out of breath, tired, cold and having diarhea. Now I was only expecting it to help her breathing and maybe make her feel a bit better! So everyone is shocked, myself including, by how quickly she has improved. Even strange symptoms, like having a stiff painful neck, also went away. I have no idea how or why but hey so many other symptoms went away so why not. I'm impressed so much by thiamin. It is really an amazing vitamin.

I owe you, Elliot! I've been to so many health practitioners for a dozen years spending several thousand dollars, and now I finallly get my answer I believe! Makes total sense for my hyperthyroid and diarrhea of 12 yrs. I'm like the guy Elliot interviewed who sounded just like me, having diarrhea for so many yrs and tried everything to no avail. So I'm so relieved to find all the videos on B1. I've told a few people about you who have Parkinson's, fibromyalgia and dystonia - all interested. Elliot, you're saving lives. I have 3 sons and I wish they would be more interested in health. So many people don't walk the talk.

I know the drill as I’ve been dealing with the health & medical establishment since 1993! My diagnosis’ are Lupus & Fibromyalgia and I’ve had many more issues over the last 30 years! So far my guess-estimate into how much I’ve spent on “medical aid” would be around $100,000! You’ll never believe this; I had a visit to a pain clinic this year and I had one 1/2 hour visit with a Dr. to go over my stats. Then they talked me into doing one shot in the lower back that didn’t require any sedation (it only took them 2 mins to do the shot!) THE COST ON THE BILL WAS $79,899!!! My co pay $10,000!! Talk about a Shocking unacceptable rip off! I’m SO OVER this ineffective rip off of a “medical system”! Also, There’s been NO CURES for any of these diseases I mentioned above along with cancers!! This makes no sense with all the time + money and research that’s been thrown at it! And now In 2023 it’s the near same protocols for Fibro & Lupus!! This tells me they DONT WANT US CURED! They have made it into sick care & not health care!! Humanity we are seriously in trouble. 🥺

And yes I saw the others - i do have a bit of a background in nutritional mediicne and naturopathy and a deg in pathology. - im struggling with lingering covid issues, even worse dysautonomia than usual - and never, repeat never been susceptible to flu-viral infections till now. But today - while feeling rubbish in bed, i was thinking the long covid symptoms appear similar to thiamine deficincy. So - I googled it, and turns out Im not the only one who thinks that. I also suspect that if i look hard enough, i might find that fighting specific viral loads depletes specific groups of nutrients and impairs various enzyme pathhways, in particular in the mitochondria. I know they know that specific virus interrupt the ATP production at specific locations in the krebs cycle, but i reckon we are both very very B1 deficient. One thing i noticed with Acetylcholine - one medication i take is Modafinil - and when i kicks in, I just 'get up out of bed' without trying very hard. But without it - Im crippled. One of the MOA of Modafinil is increase of ACh. I also have a brain wave to try TTFD to help treat my husband who has tourettes - as benzos have reduced his tics considerably. SO maybe he has a natural TTFD deficiency. And yes - its criminal Dereks work was never adopted - i learned about it some time ago.

Would like to know more about the atrial-fibrillation connection with thiamine so I can ask my doctor why this is not even considered as a treatment option by heart specialists. Instead I’ve been pushed to take meds meant for diabetics (and unbalances the ace 2) which I refused as I’m not diabetic but then the doctor lied and said this other med ( not mentioning that it was an ace 2 disrupter) would help with the potassium retention caused by the furosemide water pill I said I would take-it didn’t effect me well-couldn’t eat, nauseous for days- quit that-and then was given potassium pills-so why not just give me potassium pills to go with the furosemide in the first place? American doctors seem particularly untrained in nutrition with a total bias to inappropriate possibly harmful meds without consideration of vitamins and minerals as an option at all! I have to do my own research online and not using the useless NIH site either.

I learned about that being actually bad for us by the nutritional guru from the 1990s whom the FEDS went after big time when he wrote a weight loss cure book. They threw him in jail and I think he’s still there after decades. (He shared an experience where he brought in some Mag Steate to the FDAs office and asked the ruler there at that time if MS wasn’t bad for ppl then eat this MS🤷‍♀️ and he wouldn’t!) Such a sorry sad state of affairs this world is, if it wasn’t for ppl like you Elliot I’d be extremely disenchanted with pretty much everything right now!

B1 on its own vs a B complex may "feel different" because there are other it things in the B complex like niacin, biotin, etc, that causes your body to react differently (like flushing from niacin) than B1 on it's own.

So, I had pretty bad tremors. They were fairly intermittent - some days worse than others. Typically they were worse when I was starving, and if I've consumed caffeine I sometimes look like I have Parkinson's. I bought some Solaray B1 from my health food store, and at 1,600mg a day, the tremors stop and I feel basic touch sensations better. I have never been able to handle methylcobalamin, or methyl B12. It tweaks me out. Instant anxiety which turns easily into rage and anger. Could the B1 tie in anywhere here? Also, I'm a bodybuilder, and after taking a large dose of B1, I feel so much stronger on all my lifts. Almost like I'm more stable in the fine motor skills.
@colinthomson5358
@colinthomson5358 2 года назад
Derrick Lonsdale noticed many people who were deficient in B1 had elevated Folate and B12. I can't remember the reason for this but it happened quite a bit. Sounds like you were low in B1 so adding B12 when you already had too much would have made you feel worse. It's not because B12 is bad or anything it was just the wrong thing for you. I'd guess you would be able to handle it better now. However since you are a bodybuilder you probably eat loads of meat so you probably don't need any extra B12.

This is fascinating! Can you tell me if thiamine deficiency can be passed from mother to child? I have many of the symptoms you describe and my kids are also exhibiting minor health conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, as well as blood sugar problems, despite eating a mostly whole foods diet. Is it also possible that FMT can be used as an alternative or complimentary therapy for thiamine deficiency, provided a healthy donor can be found?
@heide-raquelfuss5580
@heide-raquelfuss5580 Год назад
Everything what a mother is deficient in, the fetus will have problems too. Also, the mothers body will give the fetus al it can give for its development, so the mother will be damaged also by robbing her of her own nutrients, even if she will decline. Toxins also will be passed on her fetus. Medicines, vaccinations, so those also damage the fetus. Also, everything she eats full of pesticides, heavy metals, herbicides, fungicides, molds etc. Also all inhaled toxins from her work place, living space> fire retardants in wallpaper, carpets, paints, solvents, acrilics...Drinking from plastic bottles, utencils, teflon pots and pans, tapwater ( chlorine, fluoride etc ), fluor toothpaste ( very toxic which contains aluminum and other chemicals ). Cleaning products...soaos, shampoo, air perfumes, deo, bath pears, bubblebath products. To get rid of all this 100's of toxins, chemicals and so on she needs nutrients to detoxify her system before conception and so on. Kind regards
