The wrecked VN Commodore is part way through its repairs, rear end is done back on the ground, tubbed, shortened diff, 325 tyre, coil overs, 4 link. Is it over kill? Absolutely - for now anyway. Next week we are digging in to the engine so make sure you hit the subscribe button to stay up to date!

Awesome content as always. It's worth using weld through primer and coating all the areas you're closing in. Also use etch primer on everything prior to stone guard. Will last forever with good quality coatings

This paint is supposedly a no primer paint, but I know what you mean. There’s plenty of rust in this car I’d be concerned about before any of this new steel rusting. I can get to all the areas that are closed off to paint everything anyway, including around fuel filler section.

Problem with welding stainless to steel is galvanic corrosion. The steel will rust like a bugger! Ask me how i know 😂. Cheers. Leigh.

Standard tank is actually galv/zinc coated so there’s many problems which ever way you look at it. I’m going stainless because the fuel that I’m going to run has a high condensation/water content compare to normal unleaded so that’s the reason I didn’t use mild steel 👌

@@theoriginalwallace possibly, but ethanol has a habit of eating everything including rubber so I’d imagine it would chew through that coating pretty quick too.
