Arthur how cool is that? I have very fond memories of my interview with your Grandfather. I'm sure you're very proud of him and his service to our country. I spoke with him on the phone recently.
Wow what a story, experience, and life...coming from what mustve felt like hell, not in control to giving it all up for HIS mission..savi g souls.. God Bless you Jim
Welcome Home Mr. Vivian! You're right, young people should be out enjoying and improving themselves, and though they would disagree, I don't feel I owe them anything. I cannot say the same of you. I owe you a debt of gratitude I can never pay, and I owe you the respect that can never be fully expressed. Thank you Sir for what you have done, for overcoming the burden that was placed on you as a result, and for representing this country on foreign soil. Thank you, and thank you Larry for providing a platform where we can show these men and women how we feel.
I love this James' testimony, especially his telling of how he was dramatically changed by The Lord. I've heard many, many times that people don't change; but I know that Jesus can change anyone with immediate effect. I'm one of those people.
Ester, I would like to speak with your Father about coming out sometime and sharing my faith and this project. Please reach out to me and I will email you my bio. Thank you. Larry Cappetto, EMAIL: lcappetto@icloud.com

Awesome interview!! He is an absolute testimony, there is power in the Lord, when it’s your time, you can’t hide from him, you may choose otherwise, but you always have the opportunity, to your last logical thought and breath, 💪🏼👍🏻👍🏻welcome home!
As his son, I can attest that his story is true. It was tough growing up knowing that he and I would never be that close because of his unexpected expectation of death for everyone around him. And so far as chocking people…I was one of them. I thought that it’d be fun to try and surprise him as he came down stairs one day, and to my surprise he quickly put me in a choke hold and started screaming “Charlie”. Lessons learned in this environment: 1) everyone dies/everyone leaves, don’t get close to anything that is temporary. Especially people. 2) never waste food. It wasn’t until I was in my early 40’s that I started to understand that I am the way that I am because he is the way that he is.
James, glad you found your Dad's story. I have great memories of meeting him almost 20 years ago now in Missouri when the interview was done. I tried calling him today but I was not able to reach him. He left me a message yesterday on my phone.
The Vietnam Vets of today are about the same age as the WWII Vets were when I started interviewing them 20 years ago. In 20 years most of the Vietnam Vets will be gone too.
