Walking from Archirondel to Gorey pier (Part 1)

I have said this before how beautiful the Island looks on days like this. I met my wife at Les Aches on the dance floor in 1981 after arriving in Jersey three months before. Les Aches was one of the most popular night spots in Jersey at that time and I’m afraid to say not many people stuck to limit of alcohol consumption when driving home. We liked to walk not just along this coastline but in through the country lanes as well. When we finished our walk it’s off to the driftwood cafe for some homemade cake and a pot of tea scrumptious. We had a minutes silence followed by a spontaneous applause for my very good friend after a golf comp two days past. He was a very much liked man and a hell of an athlete in his day I can’t say that for everyone, but I like to think the majority of us are decent people. Looking forward to the next part cheers.

Hi Tom and Paddy. Well what can i say except In my humble opinion this is one of the most enjoyable videos .. I didn't know Archirondel had a little cafe, but will swing by on my next visit. Some beautiful properties enroute and what a smashing day . Looking forward now to part 2.... and thanks again ☘️👍

Can't wait for part two as we did this walk from Gorey to St Ann Port and back a couple of weeks ago.

Hi Tom. I have stayed at the Ann Port Bay Hotel With my Mother & Father some ware between the age 8 to 11, I am how the age of 70 in August. I remember looking out across the valley and bay from the Hotel Blakeney, I've looked on Google Earth and have found that the building is still there but not a Hotel now. once again Thanks for the enjoyment your program gives to me and others.

Last year as you walked up the ramp there was one of those magnificent tortoises situated, I believe tom they were auctioned off for the durrell zoo as many were scattered around the island painted by local artists and with magnificent art work on them. Also I did not notice the german bunker ,keep up the good work tom n paddy

Hello Tom and your navigator Paddy 👍again such a lovely walk and beautiful scenery on a lovely day .I recall at Anne Port there are apartments that the actor Roger Moore had bought one of these back in the 80s , Would love to stay in the Martello Tower there but some time ago when looking at prices for 2 it was expensive ,looking forward to the next part as stayed many time at either Seascale (brilliant food) or Dolphin Hotels . At the end of the pier there was a Thai food eating place I guess its long gone now.
