Man you did yourself a disservice only watching the first and last, this show is very good, and you’ve missed some good stuff in the missing episodes.

It’s blowing my mind that you miss basically everything with the doctor. You have no idea all of the steps it took for Charlotte and George to get to this point of their story.

Yeah they’re gonna get on you for this one, especially since Queen Charlotte is only six episodes. You definitely could’ve just binged the whole thing.

I agrée with so many of the other commenters. This was the best of the Bridgerton series, and it is a shame you didn’t see the entire season. Please watch it in full even if you don’t film it. The ending won’t have the same impact now, but it is still worth a full viewing.

Honestly I hate this segment. First and Last, I mean. You cheat yourself out of good arcs. I get doing this with a really, really long show like Grey's Anatomy, but this show has SIX episodes. How difficult would have been to watch all of them?

First and last eps videos can work with long comedy or drama series because the stakes are never high and it can be fun to make guesses about what you missed, but for a miniseries with 6 episodes and only two major plots you've lost all context that would make the last episode mean anything and ruined the rest of a great show for yourself. Sorry some people are being kind of harsh but this probably wasn't the right show for this video format :/

You've missed out on all the character development, story arcs, relationship building, etc... that went into the other 4 episodes in between! I thought you were only going to show the reaction to the 1st & last episode, not that you were only going to watch those 2 episodes. It's a miniseries... it could've been fully watched in 2 days max 🤷‍♀️

I never truly understood the purpose of watching only the 1st and the last episode of a limited series and then exercise audacity in well…very limited awareness of the full story. The audacity is to have the comment section do your work for you? It could really be remedied by watching all six episodes…….oh well, good luck to you.

"You are out of mourning" Back in those days you wore black the entire time you mourn. She was no longer wearing black, thats how charlottes brother knew she was no longer in mourning

I have to agree with the majority of the comments on this video. You have done yourself and this show a disservice by not watching the whole show. You are literally asking questions that are answered by the show itself and you miss the emotional arcs and hard work these characters have done to build their relationships. Without a doubt this is the best of the Bridgerton series so far due to its true emotional depth, maturity, brilliant script and stellar acting by the cast. Please go back and watch the episodes you missed.

This is the worst way to have watched the show😔

Mourning in this period is shown through clothing! So in full mourning we see all black and veils. Then they move to partial mourning, where they start to wear lighter blacks, greys, and light purples! So Adolphus knows Lady Danbury is out of mourning because she is wearing purple!

This was the silliest thing and most disrespectful thing to do to such a worthy series. Watching the 1st and last episodes with zero context in between? Terrible.

Good hips are good for childbirth, big hips used to be equal to fertility, and you need to kind of open your hips so the baby gets out

"Sorrows, sorrows, prayers" still cracks me up even though this is truly a beautiful and sad love story.

So out of mourning they would have started to wear another colour besides black (usually purple and work their way back to full colour) that was what was expected lol. The young woman who died pregnant would be her daughter in law and future grandchild.

This is really worth watching all six episodes because you're really doing yourself a disservice in only viewing the first and last. It's like this universe keeps getting better and better and while Bridgerton was amazing, both seasons, this is on a whole other level. Please if you can, do a reaction to all of the episodes because it's such an outstanding series of television.

Queen Charlotte is a one-season spinoff that premiered after season 2 of Bridgerton had already finished. I think Bridgerton season 3is coming out sometime this year.

20:53 George, the one who keeps crying because his daughter just died, hated his wife (to the degree that he somehow prevented her from being part of her daughters life and didn't even tell her when she'd died) so that's probably why he didn't have any other children with her, and also probably why we never see her.

she was white but it is reported she had Black Moor blood and was a bit tanner but that she was painted lighter skinned. Queen Elizabeth talked about a mixed relative in their family like Meghan and i believe Queen Charlotte is who she was speaking about, but the show took more liberties in making her more noticeably black and playing on that fact with the what if this had happened back in the day.

The message of love in this season was phenomenal. Love is as beautiful as a butterfly in the wind but as gruesome as a spider eating it’s next victim it is a battle of happiness and sorrow. But for some it is a battle worth fighting for. She could have left him at any moment but she stayed and pushed on for him for the goodness in his heart. I can imagine the toll it would take to watch your partner go through something as serious as what George did. A true test of love and not taking the easy way out and climbing over the wall.

This show is basically a miniseries, complete in itself. Maybe we'll get a spinoff miniseries about Reynolds and Brimsley or further adventures of Lady Danbury or something.

You would know if someone was in mourning because they would be wearing black, or at least a black armband I believe. I think there was a minimum amount you had to mourn to appear proper, otherwise it would look like you didn't care about the deceased. But I think you could mourn for as long as you like. If Lady Danbury had loved her husband, she could have stayed in mourning. So Adolphus wasn't being presumptive when he said she must be out of mourning, she was wearing bright colours. I suppose you couldn't court someone in mourning.

People used to think (wrongly) that wide hips were a sign of fertility and easier birthing (babies would fit through more easily). In reality the hips are irrelevant to the size of the pelvic opening needed for the baby, and the baby's size is also important. But this was back when a C-section was a death sentence so they tried to find wives that they thought least likely to need that.

The line of succession went George the 3rd George the 4th William and then Victoria, William was George’s brother he didn’t have any children so it went to Prince edwards daughter as Edward died the same year as George the 3rd

Charlotte was bi-racial. Half caucasian and half black. In America black in other countries they'd say she was white.

It's only 6 episodes. You should have watched the whole thing. (I personally hate the whole youtuber reactions of watching the first and last episodes of shows) I hope you'll consider rewatching, even if just for yourself. Though I'd feel it was ruined personally. Amazing show.

498:17 I'm not sure when George the Third died, but when he died his eldest son George (the one who lost his daughter) became George the Fourth (and didn't invite his wife to his coronation). As he had no legitimate children asides from his late daughter and since his brother the second son Frederick died before he did (and with no children since according to this show he didn't see his wife for something like 20 years), when George the Fourth died his brother the third son William became William the Fourth. William had a surprisingly affectionate and caring marriage with his wife Adelaide but they had no children (either one or two miscarriages or one or two babies who died after a few months) asides from his 10 illegitimate children he'd had before he married her (apparently she got on surprisingly well with all of them), so Victoria became his heir presumptive as her father Edward had been the fourth son. Apparently that meant she should've attended his court often but her mother prevented it because she didn't like William and he didn't like her - plus there was that whole drama with that Conroy man. I think some reckon that it was also because of William and Adelaide not having any children that they wanted Victoria to be at court more.

Even George 's mother has a heartbreaking monologue which adds a lot to her character. Anyway, I realized that these first-last episode reactions are quite frustrating to me. If you chose to do a first and last on Queen Charlotte, this was the most wasted reaction opportunity ever. It is easily the strongest storytelling of all of the Bridgerton entries and benefits most from following all of the episodes in the sequence presented because of what you are/aren't initially shown and what comes to be revealed. I've become a recent admirer of your Bridgerton commentaries and your insightfulness, but won't be watching this one.
