I grabbed this a couple days before I grabbed the dji fpv. Once I saw the digital image I decided analog was not for me so after a lot of thought I went and grabbed the dji fpv. It’s low key a bitch to get it all the equipment bound spent the day today doing all of that but I was absolutely impressed by what it offers. As for the baby hawk this thing is light, agile, fast as heck and a blast to fly. If it were an analog quad it wouldn’t be the same digital really makes a huge difference
Thanks for the video, it combined with reading the comments cleared up a little confusion I was having about the term pnp (no receiver) . Kinda strange term being it does have a dji receiver in it. Like smart audio has nothing to do with sound.
I agree, I think the industry came up with the PNP nomenclature because you can still add a 3rd party receiver to it. You may find when ordering PNP drones some websites will say "None - I Use the DJI Remote" or something similar.
Many thanks for the review. Funny enough I'm going to get this very quad today - it travelled all the way from GetFPV to Vienna, Austria and is supposed to be delivered until end of the day. I'm very much looking forward to it - now, after your review, more than ever. Keep up your excellent work!
I still fly my babyhawk r 3inch. It's one of my favorites. Already ordered this one, just waiting on it to get here. Don't go with DJI controller, it's very limited and you will most likely replace it relatively quickly.
On the contrary, I've been flying with the DJI controller for well over a year. I still occasionally fly my T16 when I need Crossfire, but love the All-In-One solution the DJI controller provides.
@@AerialPixel if you are getting into anything but flying cameras you probably will want more than that controller can offer, plus it can't bind to anything but air units and vistas. Whereas the other radios can be programmed and run multiple protocols and cheaper. Example my radiomaster tx16s with TBS module was 300$ and can do all the above. That's why I say that. Sure if you're only flying dji air units it's fine, but most people are at some point gonna see it's limitations there as well.
would you be able to do a video on the Betaflight set up for what you used on the Emax.. I would like to do the same exact setup to the spec and the DJI remote and goggles.. but with a v2. Im coming from using a Eachine Novice IV and and Geprc Tiny go.
The no receiver option of the Emax Babyhawk II HD is extremely easy to setup. Just update the firmware on the Vista unit and activate it. Bind it to your remote and goggles. I did a speedramp video at 5:55 of my entire Betaflight setup, you can do a frame by frame of it using the > key on your keyboard. Let me know if you have questions.
iFlight did not send us the Evoque to review, it is an excellent model though. I fly the iFlight Nazgul 5HD on a regular basis and it is excellent, the Evoque is supposed to be even better.
I am actually thinking along the same lines. However, I am wanting the geprc cinelog 25. I am thinking along the lines of an indoor/outdoor quad, with the ability for cinematography and the fpv acro abilities.
@@cyborgpirate5882 If you get the HD version with the Vista Unit on the Protek 25 or the Protek 35 HD with the Air Unit the Goggles will work. You will still need to get the full size DJI Remote Controller though, right now the remote that comes with the DJI FPV drone won't work with anything but the DJI FPV drone. I have heard DJI may be working on making it compatible though. You can find more on the DJI controller here: www.banggood.com/DJI-Digital-FPV-Remote-Controller-5_8GHz-7ms-Ultra-Low-Latency-4KM-Control-Range-Closed-Loop-Software-Operation-Transmitter-with-Battery-for-DJI-Air-Unit-RC-Drone-p-1540629.html?akmClientCountry=America&p=1V060040021064202101&custlixnkid=1438448&cur_warehouse=CN&ID=42482
I cant wait to get mine..... can you make a video with a gopro w/ the battery delete mod?? or at least a light gopro. i dont have the guts to make a naked gopro.
Nice video, i have ordered this drone yesterday but i´m not sure about the program Beta-flight. Do i really need to change options when i use the dji fpv remote and the goggles v2? I hope i can bind and fly?!
As I mentioned in the video, you currently cannot use the remote that came with the DJI FPV Combo, you need the larger DJI remote, this one: click.dji.com/ALQHM4cOExopDfTC51_rmA?pm=custom You will need to setup the modes in Betaflight to set your arming switch, flight mode switch, etc, there is no way around this.
Both fly extremely well and have their pros and cons. The Chimera4 is available in a X setup or deadcat setup (deadcat will keep props out of view). The Chimera is $20 US cheaper, but the Babyhawk II is now available with the Polar Pro camera which is better than the Polar Nano that comes on the Chimera. In my opinion the Babyhawk II has a slightly better tune right out of the box. Hope that helps! Fly safe!
@@carlosr.2027 Very little difference between the two. Both have similar size motors Babyhawk 1404 3700kv Chimera4 1404 3000kv The Babyhawk is a little lighter only 141g vs 173 grams. All being said you will get similar flight times between the two. You can't go wrong with either.
Nice video, I just received the babyhawk II HD with the Frsky D8 receiver to go with my TX16S, but I don't find the binding button on the drone 😅 or do I have to use betaflight to bind the drone with the TX16S?
I hears the D8 has bad range. Ordered the Babyhawk yesterday. My first thought was to get the cinelog 25. But its probably boring if i actually intend to learn freestyle acro. So the sub 250g babyhawk kicks ass. I dont want to practice acro on my dji fpv. Too expensive to crash. I ordered the R-XSR frsky receiver. Hope it is easy to set up and install with my tx16s. Any Tipps ?
@@AerialPixel my pnp was in need of wiriing to sbus too , couple of other reviewers had same issue ( andyrc ) having said that this is by far my fav quad of the fleet if i had to pick 1 . could easily add some prop guards and fly indoors/cine style , or head outside and rip it around .
Forgive my ignorance here but I’m an old fart just getting into this hobby I’ve got the DJI fpv. But which model of the baby hawk 2 do I need to purchase the BNF OR THE PNP nothing was specified here ?☹️ should have added I already have a tx16s transmitter and dji goggles version 2 the only thing I do not have is a pc only an iPad
You would want the Caddx Vista (No RX) version if you are planning on using the DJI FPV controller (Full size black one) you don't need an additional receiver if sticking with all DJI gear. If you are planning on going with a TX16 or TX16s I would go with the TBS Crossfire version, but you would also need the Crossfire module that goes in the back of the controller. Once you purchase the TX16s and the Crossfire module and add in the extra cost of the Crossfire receiver you could have purchased the DJI transmitter. The DJI transmitter is the most Plug-N-Play setup. I can't suggest the D8 receiver version as the range is extremely short with D8 receivers.
@@AerialPixel thank you for your reply since I already had my radiomaster tx 16 from flying rc planes I bought a plug in crossfire module for my tx16 £70 so I went with the BNF CROSSFIRE babyhawk 2 and a added bonus I had on old dell laptop and a local computer mechanic is refreshing it to run on windows 10 so should be sorted so I can update firmware as required
