Today we are going to look at the origin, secrets, timeline, story, lore, mysteries and history of the triforce from the legend of zelda series. Ganondorf, link and zelda have fought for this relic many times in games like the legend of zelda ocarina of time, the legend of zelda twilight princess, the legend of zelda the wind waker and maybe even the legend of zelda breath of the wild for the nintendo switch. This item has been extremely important for the zelda series and in todays speculation/what if/game theory/zelda theory video we will find out what could happen if it never existed.
INFO FOR THE CONTEST:

For some reason, i'm thinking of a zelda game where link has to break the curse.. maybe this happens in Breath of the Wild or a future zelda game. I just think it's a cool idea for a game

Fminus I don't think that would be a very story-esk game. Link was given the curse by demise, a divine being. Which means you need the triforce, which has more power than demise. So it would be a game of: get triforce, yay. But who knows

no you cant 1. it called the triforce 2. each piece represents one of the three goddesses they may not be concerned about the actions of mortals but we see the go all out to maintain balance so in that regard it probably all or none 3. if you did wish for that the triforce of power is likly the corner stone of the triforce because we know that gannondorf is the most removed from humanity and goes through the biggest change because din is the embodiment of power with out her the triforce wont have the power to grant wishes

Well, that depends on HOW they dumped it. If they split apart the pieces and forgot about them, or put it in a place nobody could EVER reach, they'd be good. If they destroyed it wholesale, their world would crumble.

What if The Legend of Zelda had a tennis spin-off game with guest characters like Lonk, Toon Link, Midna, all 3 triforce heroes Links, and Purple Link? I have a good story idea for it: Hyrule finally makes tennis rackets and hosts a tournament and then Ganondorf and other badies show up but say they really only want to play tennis this time and the heroes let them join but suddenly multiple portals open and Lonk, from Miiverse comes out of a light green portal, Toon Link appears from an aqua portal, Midna appears from a twilight portal, the Triforce Heroes Links appear from a green, blue, and red colored portal, and Purple Link appears from a Purple portal and they join the tennis match. Yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy little story!!!

I can't help but notice that there is a single HUGE flaw in this video. It fails to mention that in the beginning of Ocarina of Time, it is explained that the three goddesses(Din, Farore, and Nayru) created the world of Hyrule using their powers, powers that when combined form the Triforce. Without the existance of the triforce, one would say that Hyrule wouldn't exist.

This is the origin story of Termina in Hyrule Historia ''When Hyrule was created by the three goddesses at the beginning of time, there were certain side effects of its creation which Din, Nayru and Farore did not anticipate. As the three holy women breathed life into the world and chased away Emptiness, their potent breath slipped through tiny cracks in the folds of space and created millions of alternate worlds in the process. One of these worlds became the land known as Termina'' So basically if there was no Hyrule there would be no Termina either

I actually think the different realms in the Zelda universe may actually be different versions of the same world, created by the Goddesses as an experiment, having made each slightly different to see what happened. Hyrule and Lorule are worlds where the values represented by the Triforce are at their highest and lowest, respectively. The Twilight Realm is a failed experiment where evil got the Triforce, plunging the world into eternal darkness, with the Twili living on the equivalent of Skyloft... a sanctuary in the air that escaped the evil on the surface. Termina is a world where the Goddesses attempted to prevent the fighting by removing the Triforce... there was no fighting between good and evil... so the only fighting was a result of misunderstandings. The Sacred Realm is the last world made by the Goddesses before they left, but it was left unfinished... which is why it can still be altered by anyone who goes there.

I never got the "Double-edged sword" metaphor considering a lot of swords through history had two edges, take a simple broadsword or long-sword (the two types of sword the master sword could be) two edges, relatively useful for slashing, extremely useful for stabbing.

From the notion that if two sides of the same blade are sharp, it cuts both ways. So when something can have both favorable and unfavorable consequences, the term double-edged sword is often used to describe it. In other words it is not focusing on the actual "sword" part of the word but rather just stating that something could have a favorable and unfavorable consequence. In card games usually it refers to cards that deal you damage while at the same time hurting the opponent the same applies to video game stuff that can hurt the user but at the same time help them is a double edge sword. Again not focusing on the actual weapon(s).

Dr. Wily, I keep saying this but Gannondorf isn't the only incarnation of Demise's hatred, all the villains are. Also Vaati went after the lightforce not the triforce, which is Hylia's power and is as strong if not stronger than the Triforce.

If there was no triforce, then there would be no war for it. Maybe everything would have been better, but very different. And Hylia would still be around as she didn't need to sacrifice herself. But the world would crumble pretty much, well I guess in order for there to be light there must be shadow, you gotta take the the good with the bad. But maybe Hylia CAN sacrifice herself to make Hyrule live without the Triforce. The possibilities are practically endless.

I just now thought about it but I dont think the characters in botw know about the triforce. I dont remember it being mentioned because youd think the first thing zelda or even impa would tell them. Im hoping maybe purah or impa or maybe even zelda will find and old scroll in the castle remains about it in a sequel. Then we can get a botw version of the sacred realm, unless she sent ganon there again then it'll be the dark realm again.
