The idea of the Dawnblade being a cronesword is an amazing one. Especially if it lead to a Y'nnari/Eldar war against the Farsight Enclaves, by extension, a T'au empire seeking to finally "squash Rebellious elements".

It is entombed with the Emperor in the Golden Throne.
@aBoogivogi
@aBoogivogi 5 лет назад
This is actually not to stupid. I mean the throne is the best life support system ever seen. It may be that the emperor of man found the sword and attempted to use it either to forcibly bind faith to secure his empire or use the weapon as a means to gain access to the web way. Then maybe it's being used now to halt his decay or rather bind the remnants of his soul to the decaying form that sits on the throne. Essentially sealing his faith to the throne.

@Huckleberry If you look at any life support system giving you 10k years of life extension in the Warhammer universe, especially when you are gravely wounded, none of them seem like really nice options.

what about the soulspear of the soul drinkers. the soul spear is an ancient weapon possibly older then the great crusade. it had a gene lock modified onto its framework but that was attached. the spear when analyzed by the adeptus mechanicus seems to changes shape and form under their microscopes and testing tools denying them entry into its secrets. the weapon itself seems to be able to damage reality where it strikes and is so fearsome a weapon that a demon prince of tzeetch a master of magic in its own right was terrified of the might it possessed at the end of the novel soul drinker. in addition the spear is of a twin bladed design one VERY uncommon among the imperiums arsenals. the custodes and deathwatch watch spears are one ended, even alpharius might as he was used a spear with 1 end, the soulspear was two ended a trait commonly associated with eldar weaponry. unable to take the shape of a custodes weapon it instead opted for some kind of hybrid weapon mashing imperial stylings with eldari architecture

I can give one reason why the Ynnari can't just call up reinforcements and storm Belial IV: They don't have enough friends - last time they came to Belial IV, it was via the Webway and stealth, and they departed when they were detected, leaving several Harlequins to act as rearguard. Consider the three factions the narrator named as possible help: 1. Corsairs. Fractious at the best of times, I doubt that enough Corsairs are sufficiently interested in the Ynnari cause to storm a Daemon World by force. They are small (by the standards of armies) warbands, centered around single, charismatic leaders, whose whims carry the force of law. Can Corsair warbands be approached and wooed into alliance? Mostly, they can. But individually, with diplomatic strategy customized to each group's psyche. Not as a collective whole. 2. Craftworlds. Craftworlds may seem like a better pick for alliance, seeing as (most) Craftworlds are coherent forces, and (most) Craftworlds are on-board with the whole "Wake Ynnead up so he can lolsmite Slaanesh" thing. Buuut...there are some problems with the idea. First, most Craftworlds are led by Seer Councils, who are usually hidebound, reactionary old farts who believe in the *precise* wording of the ancient prophecies, and don't like the idea of taking shortcuts. The Farseers tend not to like Yvraine, or the Ynnari in general, and are sure as heck not going to place their whole Craftworld's resources at their disposal. Second, without going into too much detail, the major Craftworlds all have their hands full at the moment, most of them dealing with some combination of daemonic invasion and the aftermath of the 13th Black Crusade. So even those who want to help are kinda...busy at the moment. Third, the Ynnari have a...mixed reputation among the Craftworld Eldar in general. Many love them. Many hate them. Few hold no opinion on them. 3. Commorragh. There's a price on Yvraine's head in Commorragh, levied by none other than Asdrubael Vect himself. And it's not a *small* price, either - he truly, sincerely and whole-heartedly wants her dead, with an intensity that he hasn't wanted ANYthing with for millennia. She's humiliated him, called his control of the Dark Realm into question...and now Khaine's Gate has broken, with Commorragh suffering its worst Dysjunction in history - Vect thinks she's responsible for that too, which she sorta indirectly is. The entire city has fallen into chaos; whether it's the Mandrake King Kheradruakh converting a hundred or so square miles' worth at a time into his realm of shadows, the Daemons swallowing whole sub-realms or Vect's own rivals making a run at his throne (and incidentally grabbing everything of his they can en route), Commorragh is even more chaotic than usual. Yvraine will get no help from there. So who does that leave? The Tau: Naive and young, and more importantly barely even aware of the Warp and/or its functions. They're not going to help with a mission like this. The Necrons: No. Just no. The Orks: See previous. That leave the Imperium: Xenophobic and bureaucratic, but aware of the Warp, its dangers and what they (and humanity) stand to gain from the Forces of Chaos suffering a major defeat. They might be willing to help; they might even be able AND willing. Hence Yvraine's resurrection of Guilliman; by returning a Primarch to the helm of the Imperium, she's hoping to a) Establish that (unlike many other examples of human-eldar "alliances", in both directions), she genuinely wants an outcome which is mutually-beneficial; b) Ensure that she has a sympathetic ear in high places; and c) Get someone competent in charge on Terra, helping the Imperium find its feet again after the loss of Cadia. I wonder when Eldrad will tell her about the Coven of Isha...and how hard she'll smack him when he finally does. They could have saved her a LOT of time, embarrassment and effort.

Could the last Crone Sword be one of the artifacts of Vulkan? Four have yet to be found and we know virtually nothing about them. As a smith god, Vaul might have begun to show favor to the people of Nocturne, who themselves were master blacksmiths, after the Eldar began descending into debauchery. If this is the case, then knowledge of the Crone Swords could have been gifted to the people of Nocturne who preserved it in their folklore, the knowledge ultimately passing to Vulkan who sought and eventually obtained the final sword.

I think all of the relics of Vulcan were things he made, but i'm not entirely sure of that. If they were all things he made then no, but assuming they were just the greatest pieces of technology he had at his disposal or something to that effect then yes, I could see the cronesword being one of them.

If the Emperor's sword were a Cronesword, then Yvrain wouldn't have bothered bringing Guiliman back to life, she'd have simply taken the sword during the firefight in the Primarch's Shrine and then bailed, to let the Mon'Keigh get slaughtered while she and her people went to awaken Ynead.

@alexandarvoncarsteinzarovi3723
The Dawnblade is the most likely candidate for that, unlike the Emperor's Sword, but I remain sceptical until further evidence is brought to light, Now this might surprise you but there might be in fact a sixth sword of legend besides the Crone Swords, namely The Sword of Khaine, also known as Widowmaker and Godslayer, forged by Vaul among the 100th swords during the rise of Slaanesh, then cast down from the heavens, this would make it even more powerful then any of these blades,

That is very interesting. The y'nnari seem very diplomatic at times and I could see them working with farsight. Also farsight could see in the eldari, something that once was the date of the Tau before the coming of the ethereal... Doom. And seek to help the eldari. Although at 1st I think the y'nnari would seek to take the dawn blade from farsight as they would see it as rightfully being there's and he as nothing but an unwary thief, but would only cease such action if influenced that the sword has chosen farsight as it's rightful bearer. Loved this video.

That's an interesting take on it, considering how lesser Warp Entities are just kind of glommed into the greater energy of their 'predator'. It really depends on how powerful they were at the time compared to She Who Thirsts... Given that the Eldari Gods were fair-to-middling in power by the time, there might be traces and flickers of their personalities still buried in there. It might even explain one or two of Slaanesh' more... idiosyncratic tendancies.

I hope GW is going to go with the Dawnblade as I feel like that is the idea that opens up for the most possibility for new storys, from a duel between the Visarch and Farsight, to the Enclave becoming a bigger player in the galaxy, and of cause Guilliman, Farsight and Yvraine forming an Alliance... hell Farsight could even make moves against the normal Tau empire fully starting a civil war.

In all seriousness, the design of the Dawnblade seems awfully convenient for Commander Farsight. It's almost tailor-made for his purposes. For starters, it's massive. That thing probably couldn't be lifted by a lone Aeldari short of a wraithguard, but it's certainly a convenient size for his battlesuit. Additionally, its aesthetic very closely matches the Tau. Almost as if its appearance was designed in anticipation of someone like Commander Farsight. So if the Dawnblade was indeed the final Cronesword, and the one that allegedly resides in the Palace of Slaanesh is merely a ruse to fool the Ynnari into giving up or attempting a suicidal retrieval, it's entirely possible that it deliberately disguised itself in such a way that the Ynnari wouldn't recognize it, seeing as they would likely expect an elegant Aeldari design.

For the problem that : If the last Crone Sword was on Belial 4, the Ynnari would have already tried to aquire it...there is two major problem for this : -First, the Ynnari aren't this numerous, and their number barely atteint the strength of one Minor Craftworld. An all-out assault, is just suicide and sure to fail in such conditions. -2 : Yvraine don't have the ears (lol) of the CraftWorld and Kabal...some of them even hate her and view her as dangerous, while the majority, like Ulthwe or Biel-Tan, are divided toward their opinion concerning the Ynnari. If the Crone Sword is still on Belial 4, then I think it's more the lack of armies and ressources that stop Yvraine to acquire it.

God Emperor of Mankind you are ynead lol. Well makes sense the starchild a reborn emperor in the form of a warp entity could be ynead. It isn't coincidence that as soon as the golden throne starts failing ynead starts to gestalt in the warp. Why would the eldar cult known as the ynari bother saving guilliman and humans from cadia's destruction. I truly believe ynead is connected to the emperor in some form just like khaine is probably khorne. They're just different aspects of the same entity. Look at this way the legion of the damned are reborn spirits of space marines resurrected by the emperor himself no different from the stormcast with sigmar. However maybe ynead is nurgle fused with with isha and the emperor. The 4 of them are undead/warp entities capable of ressurecting the dead. The emperor has the legion of the damned, celestine and the sanguinor (probably the soul of sanguniuis). Plaguebearers are the souls of humans, eldar, ork and other sentients killed by nurgles rot. Isha created the eldar and ynead is the entire collective consciousness of eldar souls (well that is we're told). Ynari abilities have a range of 7 as well hmmm......

Jausch120 yeah its some sort of psychic avatar of sanguinius possessing a space marine or the physical representation of the good in him. Its quite complex actually.

I'd love it to be Zaris, the 100th sword made by Vual BUT Anaris was made at difrent point in eldar god history and was shattered in to shards as khaine was by she who thirsts. Still would have been awesome, then again GW is forever known for changing lore to suit its needs for better or worse.

Also if he turned her hand, specifically her FINGERS into swords, what happened to the rest of her hand? The palm part. There's enough material there to probably make four more, if we're talking overall material..

Farsight's blade seems more likely. Once the swords are brought together are they going to be consumed in some ritual to raise Ynnead?

What if it’s the Black Templars’ Black Sword. Now that would cause a massive fight for the sword. If Logan Grimnar, could reform a demon blade, what if Dorn or Sigumind could reform a cronesword

The Sword of Balenight is another possibility, especially considering that Terra may have been a battlefield between the Eldar and Necrons millions of years ago. It was a blade so old, that even during Old Night it was ancient and its origins had been forgotten. It is said that no armor can stand against the blade, and that it damages the very lifeforce of its victims. Admittedly unlikely, but still possible.

Legitimate thought. What if the emperors sword is the last crone sword? I mean if they can change form under certain conditions, why couldnt the emperor simply just change its look to be more of a human design

Hey man, it seems pretty clear that you're enunciating and speaking more clearly, which I think is great and it's really showing results! If I can give some feedback, I also feel you've slowed down your speech a bit too much. I watch newer videos on 1.25 speed because it sounds more natural. I understand you've done it consciously to make it easier on people but I think talking a little faster would sound better to the viewer; some sort of middle ground between how you used to speak and how you speak now. Loving the videos either way, thanks for the content!

I understand what you're saying :) but the reason for my slower voice as of late is a combination of: a) the majority of my viewers coming from non-English speaking regions (like Scandinavia) and b) ever since being prescribed three separate sets of medication for my spine (including painkillers, nerve deadeners and muscle relaxants), if I try and talk faster I end up overly slurring and tripping up over my words more frequently (as displayed on the podcast)

probably a dumb idea, but what if the last crone blade was Big E's sword? it's called a relic blade. its firey and slays daemons. we know it was touched by his psychic power, but how much that power effected it and what it's properties before that were are not known.

According to this Wiki, where teh 5th Cronesword is has been confirmed: warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Shalaxi_Hellbane "The daemon was able to travel to Belial IV before the Battle of Iyanden and steal the fifth Cronesword before the Ynnari could claim it, placing it far from the reach of the servants of Ynnead in the Palace of Slaanesh in the Realm of Chaos."

What do we know about the Emperors Sword? Big E had 10 thousand years to find it, had the technology of the dark age to travel the galaxy, and 20 thousand years of built up cash to burn. Unless there is a passage in a old codex, or HH novel that says where he got or how he made it.

As far as I recall (Though it has been a while since I last read it) Dark Imperium states that that particular sword was forged by The Emperor himself through a combination of science and 'magic'.

The Dark Eldar wouldn't use a crone sword. They don't want to destroy the souls of their opponents/victims because they need them to replace Slaanesh feeding on theirs.

Question, if the four fingers and thumb were used to forge the five Croneswords, what happened to the palm? I mean, we're talking about a goddess here, if it was possible to make god killing swords from her fingers, would they really let that go to waste? At minimum the should have been more than enough to forge a sixth sword....

I know it's wishful thinking, but I'd love The Masque, or it's little baton...weapon...thing, to be the last one. Although I know squat about the lore (don't even have time to play the game, really), it'd make sense for the last Crone Sword to be in Slaanesh's claws.
