@@MsMortuary Thank you for being so supportive. It went well, she looked exactly like her beautiful self when I was done. Your tips about the loose hair helped tremendously. And you made me aware of how I handled it, so more would fall out. Also I had trouble with her bangs, they wash it and comb it straight back, wellllll, her bangs wouldn't drop back down, I had to re-wet them and trim them, then curl. She is usually a blow out client, so using an iron on her hair was real different!! Thank you for what you do!! It depends on the braids or loc style. If they are individual box braids or locs it’s easier for the professional to retouch. Cornrows are possible but it’s hard to achieve because of the angle the descendants are laying.

Great Question! The possibilities are endless. Some decedents hair shed’s significantly. You can use toupees, hair fibers, spray on colors, Wigs and customized hair pieces or some families choose to shave their loved one bald. It depends on the skill of the technician.

Sending my condolences. I would assess the sew-in to see if it's able to be saved before removing. If you know for sure that you want your mother to have a different hairstyle then it should be easy to remove the top portion but it may be a little difficult towards the back because of the angle she will be laying but it can be removed. I would detangle hair before coloring so the hair won't tangle while shampooing and the processing time may be longer due to lack of body heat. In this case, use a processing cap and blow dryer to aid in the process

Sending condolences for your loss 💐. Typically, the hair will already be detangled, shampooed, and conditioned before your arrival. Her hair will more than likely be in the air-dried, curly state and you can begin styling with a leave-in conditioner or water (clear formula, if possible) to moisten the hair and/or detangle followed by any styling aid she may have used. Sometimes I will apply the product to dry hair to minimize dry time. To avoid possible shrinkage, style her hair the way she generally wore it by shingling, coiling, or any other natural hair curling method. The same method can be used for any length of hair. Finish by diffusing or carefully drying her curls in place. For a fuller look, use a pic and lift her hair after drying. More than likely she will be casketed and this will help with the final placement of her hair. Hope this helps
