if you get pulled in nc, typically just having all windows rolled down and lights on BEFORE the officer is at your window eliminates any issues

Plus the type of car also makes a big diff. A Prius with blacked out tints is going to be way diff to a cop than a Cadillac with blacked out tints

1. Consider the area that you live in for tinting, for example, I live on a coastal rainforested climate that sees maybe 6 months of moderate sunshine a year, ceramic tinting would not make any difference hence it is not recommended. 2. Metallic tinting doesn't actually interfere with your cell phone signal in a way that you will notice. 3. Look for companies that have lifetime warranties on their workmanship, that almost guarantees you will have a quality job and not have to come back every 2-3 years. And of course, as with some auto detailing/shops, they will likely try to upsale you on tinting you don't need (notice he pushes ceramic tinting? Well, it's the most expensive as well). Do your research and the more sincere questions the staff asks about what your needs are, the more likely they are at being honest people.

Yeah and if you live in tropical hot country, dont expect too much from heat reduction. The inside of the car might took longer to get hot, but in the end, the car will still absorb heat and it will be very hot in the long run.

I paid $80 for my front 2 windows and got LLumar tint I've had it for 3 years and its still perfect. Not sold on that comment about a $100 tinting quote being low quality haha

Chicago Auto Pros Detail and Tint i still dont agree, i go to Show Time Truck Autos and they charged me $100 for full tint (20%) on my dodge ram, they also only charge me $125 for my 2017 dodge charger (35%), but they didnt get the sunstrip on in time so i got it for free. Its called not overcharging but hey it it difficult to tint i have tried and i would gladly pay 200 for tint

You're not the first one to have this comment, So i will try to explain. The actual window tint materials will cost $40-$150 depending on what brand and type of film you choose. If you go to a legitimate window tint shop you then have labor cost, rent/mortgage cost , Taxes, Insurance, Tools, Equipment and other costs. If this business wants to stay in business after all these expenses they have to come out making profit. Yes you can get tint for $100, but what is that business not paying??? They are using cheap film, cheap labor, not paying taxes, or they don't have insurance....... they have to skip on something to get the price that low or they are just not making a profit and will not be in business much longer anyway.

Had Llumar ceramic tint installed on everything except my windshield in 2017. Paid about 300. Car is going back this week to have my rear windows retinted. It’s bubbling up all over the rear window. Good thing is it’s going back to the same shop who will redo it 5yrs later for FREE.

I can vouch for FormulaOne window tint being worth the extra cost. I bought my 2003 Turbo PT Cruiser GT new over 15 years ago and had FormulaOne tint installed at the darkest legal % for my state. I also had them tint my sun roof and put a 4” band across the top of the windshield which really added a cool look to my car and made it easy for this tall boy to drive into the sun with my eyes shaded…. My FormulaOne window tint has been installed for 15-1/2 years now and still looks as great as the day it was installed! With the sun roof tinted my black Cruiser stays nice and cool inside while I enjoy the view. ** I also had a top-of-the-line ClearBra™ installed on the front of the hood and front fenders when I took delivery, later adding protection for the front bumper. The ClearBra has finally taken a hit from the sun and is in need of replacing, but the paint underneath is like the day I bought my car over 15 years ago. Spending money on the best tint & bra available is the best investment you can make in your new ride! :)

It depends where you live. Here where I live, you can get a good tint job for $99 for the whole car during the winter. They used good tint film & warranty includes free re-tint if anything happens, like bubbling or color changes during the first 2 years.

What about when you start getting scratches on the tint from making the window going up or down? I had that happen on my last car and there were vertical scratches after a using the windows. It was really annoying.

My tints were cheap...$120. Was recommended the tint place by a friend who’s had them for a while and they still look good. My issue though is that I can’t see at night. I live in a dark area near the woods and I can’t see anything when backing into a parking spot or when reversing anywhere in general. Is this cause my tints were cheap or is that just a common sense thing that I missed?

shit man i live in florida so I've always had at max 5% on my trucks and ive taken 2 trucks to the same place and paid 100 dollars each time, I've had the same tint for over 3 years now, no bubbles and never turned purple it looks as good as the day i had it done so dont get scamed by some bullshit like this that wants to charge you hundreds of dollars just too tint your car ask the people you know and find a shop with a good reputation thats all

Hello i have a 2012 bmw 7 series li that received window tint but tint shop bubble issues on rear windshield. They attempted 3 time with no success since it has defroster lines. They did tint many car with defrost line and they did not have any issues, what do you think is happening, since they think my defrster lines are damage and creating issues with film needing to replace complete windshield, does that sound right.

Massachusetts is cracking down on to dark tinted windows. 35% VLT is the law - But the question is if 35% is installed will the car pass or do you need to go to 30% tint in order to pass the 35% test?

Not smart. If they have to replace the rear window, it'll rip-off your rear defroster filaments and for $100 bucks, I guarantee that film will be bubbly and purple in a year. That damage is going to cost you hundreds to fix if you even care to fix it at that point. I would only spend $100 on tint if I was planning to immediately sell the car. You get what you pay for.

Hey I’m about to get my car tinted by a private window tinter, how can I tell whether the film he’s using is bad, good or ceramic?? I know I can ask but if they lie to me I want to be able to spot the differences, thank you.

There is a tool that measures IR rejection if you really want to check it. It's a couple hundred $$$. Look at the box when he is tinting? Unfourtany that is not a clear cut easy way to look at a film and know if it's good or not. An experienced window tinter will be able to feel a film and know if it's good or not, but if you pick it up you don't really have anything to compare it too. Are you getting a warranty card with the job? That will be your reassurance, ask the installer what happens if it starts to peel or turn a different color, the answer should be it's would be replaced under warranty.

I recently had my vehicle tinted with ceramic tint at 18% to match the factory privacy windows. I notice that when the sun is shinning on my windows now, there is a haze on my windows, the installer said its because of the type of glass was used by ford. He took the tint off the passenger side window and installed a 20% Carbon tint and same haze is there when the sun hits the window. We installed the cheap tint and the sun does not effect it but you can feel the heat coming through it.the vehicle is a 2018 Ford Raptor...Is this normal with ceramic tint or is it defective? Thanx

Usually takes about a week or two for any remaining moisture or adhesive to dry up... Your tint shop should have told you this. Now it the haze doesn't go away after a week or so ( our shop Reccomdations is to park outside and let the sun do it) you have a bad installer or film

Is it possible to apply burglar proof film to auto glass? I believe it comes in various strengths and colors. Wouldn't be a bad offering to customers living in high crime areas or protesters are causing without rule of law situations. I'd certainly be interested and could revolutionize your industry if possible.

If you never have any Toyota CH-R 2018 in record, this is your chance, come to PA, do your 'magic' and take some pictures for your website. The back window is the tricky part of the job, some people want to disassemble the rear spoiler for it (I think is not necessarily)..

I would like to see what 50% llumar ceramic looks likes , do you have any pics? ...I want privacy but not to dark what are your thoughts about 50%? , I think 35% is to dark and cuts out the essence of the interior look from outside

I need a very dark tint or a good decent dark tint from the outside but that can be very visible from inside out, any suggestions? I can drive using very dark tints from inside but my problem is my brother uses my car sometimes and he has vision problems and cant drive with dark tints.

I just got a new truck with window tint installed by the dealer, well I put one of those window car flags on my window and it screwed up the window tint and so now I'm sad :( Not that it's super expensive to replace and I want it to be darker anyway, but I'd warn anyone from using car window flags. Do you think I screwed up good tint, or would this not happen with a good tint? I really like my flag too and I don't wanna give it up if I get new tint :( Also what seemed weird is the tint doesn't go all the way to the top of the window, it hangs down maybe an 1/8th inch which I thought was odd, is that normal practice?

PFaix if you have never installed window tint yourself I wouldn't recommend it. it's not something you can just watch a RU-vid video and do it. It takes lots practice to be able to install film and get a clean look with no light gaps. As far as quality look for a brand name and remember most of the time you get what you pay for.

*+ 985 Chevy I don't need to see outside that's why there are cameras, Is double 5% enough so that you cant see with a flash light from outside ? or its not not enough and you can still see a little bit with a strong flashlight*
