in the fifth grade, my classmate just came up to me and asked me why I didn't wear foundation to cover up my acne)))))) before that I wasn't even that troubled by it 👍

i’m a girl and i’ve always had upper lip hair (as almost everyone has hair on their face…we’re all human but whatever) that was more noticeable. i’ve always been insecure about it. one day i was at school at a lunch table with mostly boys. this one boy whispered something to his friends and i wanted to know what he said. so he told me and said “umm…you kind of have…ummm…a mustache.” and i was lowkey crying inside lol but i was just like “ok…?” and left it at that.

i had terrible acne for most of my time in middle school/high school. my friends and family would try to subtly hint at how bad it was and try to "help" me by telling me to wash my face more often or do something to fix it. i got told by younger kids that i needed to get rid of my acne because it was horrifying and no one would ever love me when i looked like that. i never got compliments from anyone, and when i did it was from my friends who would sound forced af as they said "you're cute". because of that being told im cute doesn't really sound like a compliment anymore. like im not insulted by it or anything, but it still sounds like you couldnt come up with anything better but didnt want to insult me so you just went with "cute".

I am dyslexic and stutter. I read very slowly, and I hate the feeling of people waiting for me to finish reading. My English teacher had us all read sections of Lord of the flies aloud. I was slow. I couldn't pronounce a lot of words... She let the other students correct me, several times. The teacher knew I was dyslexic. I hate reading now.

My neck is darker than my body due to hyperpigmentation and someone told me I need to scrub it better, even though I scrub EVERY. FUCKING. DAY

So for those feeling insecure about their nose: People in South East Asia pay $$$$$$ to get what is called a 'high nose' because some rich model has that nose shape and so it's a status symbol by association... this week. I have the same shaped nose and just found out that it's called an aquiline or a patrician nose, and in Ancient Rome it was a feature in sculptures to signify people of the highest social class. Hurray! My nose would make people think I was super fancy and I could feel great about myself... for about two seconds before the Visigoths sacked Rome. All of this is absolute BS. It's all about trends, and to get people to spend money by making people feel worse about themselves (and also some very sneaky xenophobia/racism). Love yourselves (I really need to work on this too). Love your unique nature, perspective and beauty. And by beauty, I do mean what you think is beautiful, and that should include yourself.

I'm too skinny and i always hate when i meet new people it is the VERY FIRST thing they bring up and make a comment on... it is like I can't escape it. i try to wear baggy t-shirts or like mom pants, because I am insecure about my body but I still get these comments ALL THE TIME and if they figure out i do not like these comments they became defensive and say "oh i did not say anything wrong!!! being skinny is beautiful" BRO then why do you say BAD THINGS about it? once in a while when I wanna wear something slim fit that I THINK it looks good on me and that should matter, someone comes out and says "ohhh you look like a skeleton" Also this whole "love your body, all bodies are beautiful" thing is bullshit to skinny people because I always have to say "I'm trying to gain weight" to not get hate comments about how this is unhealthy and I shouldn't stay like this... LIKE WHY DO YOU EVEN SAY THIS TO A PERSON YOU JUST MET OR ONLY SEE IN CLASS... if I accidentally say "yeah, i'm fine with my body..." they go like "oh the beauty standards make you wanna be so skinny... NO GIRL just be healthy. this does not look good on you" well THAT IS NOT WHAT I FUCKING MEANT BUT THANKS FOR SAYING THAT I DONT LOOK GOOD AND MADE ME EVEN MORE INSECURE Sorry i was just so full lol.

I was always insecure about my nose cause it is pretty wide especially the tip, my nostrils are kinda flared and I have no bridge( it kinda looks like rihanna's).I had actually gotten over that insecurity since no one had actually mentioned it before but then this happened. Iwas sitting with 2 friends and one was just looking at me and she said "Your nose is really big." Like we were sitting in silence and out of everything that's whatvshe chose to say.The other one just laughed. I've never recovered from that.

I have a few similar stories lol In freshman year in highschool this girl sitting next to me randomly said "your arms are flabby" and she said it loud enough for this guy I had a crush on to hear. It was embarrassing but i didnt say anything to her I was just like ok. And then in 6th grade I remember a friend saying you have a mustache and I said you do too lol she kinda did but either way it was still embarrassing. I didnt know if I should shave it cuz I had barely started shaving my legs. In 3rd grade a girl in my class made fun of how hairy my legs and arms were so i was insecure bout that as well. And after 6th grade i started getting rly bad acne for some reason and I couldnt fix it. My younger sibling made fun of me a lot for it and she would call me freddy creuger (whatever his name is) I hated that. And in sophomore year of highschool I went to a new school so I didnt have many friends and I would keep to myself and not really speak to anyone. And this one loud annoying guy randomly asked me during class, in front of a bunch of people, if I was a guy. And it was so humiliating.. Ive always felt ugly growing up so that just confirmed I was ugly. By that time I was already getting into makeup so I didnt rly think I was that ugly.. Not that it matters tho. I used to hate myself so much and hate how I looked but after coming to know Christ and accept Christ into my life, I know now that my value isn't based on what other's think of me or how I look. But my value comes from God. He says I matter and that He doesnt wish that anyone would perish but that all might repent and inherit eternal life through Jesus Christ ♥

A guy in high school said I looked like a Karen. Me thinking "What the bloody hell that's a character issue! What does that even mean?!" 👁👄👁 If your gonna insult me pls don't sound like an idiot while doing it. Also in middle school my acne was so bad. I had scaring. But no one bullied me. My first day of school (I was homeschooled before then) I established picking on me would have no effect so people got bored and left me alone. It was a win win.

once i got a pimple on my chin i hated it and didn't come to school for a while cause of it then i had to go and the moring i went there i tought it wasn't as apparent as before but i was still thinking about it and a guy came and pointed at my face informing me i have a pimple in my chin like THANK YOU i didnt know i had a pimple in MY OWn face we don't have mirrors at home .... since when pimple think its useful to point at something on someone that is obvious like the person concerned wouldnt know :")) but yea he comfirmed my insecurity XSDVFDDDDD

Ok, so. When I was abt 8, I was at my moms gym, they had like a daycare type thingy, Anywayssss I was with my sister, I had brought my tablet cuz I was bored. There was this kid who was talking to my sister, he kept referring to me to my sister as “your brother” mind you, I’m female. And have been female my whole life, anyways, since then I’ve always been self conscious about the fact I “look like a boy” because I have broad shoulders, short hair, and a more masculine face. Fast forward to about two months ago, I’m joking around with my cousin and we’re like roasting each other and stuff, then he starts calling out my actual insecurities. After that he brought up me “looking like a boy” Soooo yeah, I haven’t worn a two piece swimsuit since then. My broad shoulders make my chest look smaller

The woman with stretch marks on her arms: Your arms are not noticeable to me at all! I wouldn't look twice and think anything is unattractive! And for anyone asking, what is that, they must have no life experiences to not know what stretch marks are! I have psoriasis and have had horrible flare ups where my body is covered from head to toe in patches. It can be very difficult revealing my skin but I made myself go out to the beach in a tiny bikini and rocked all my spots on many occasions. Yes, a lot of people look but why take my happiness away from myself doing the things I love! Keep your head up, know your worth and educate others while at it! 🙌🏻💕💕💕🙌🏻

I have three that easily come to mind: When I was eating dinner with my family and my brother's girlfriend and then out of the blue my dad said he never noticed how big my nostrils were. When I was at my Aunt's house celebrating my cousins graduation. My cousin wanted to get a picture with me and her boyfriends mom pulled her aside before the photo and quietly asked if she wanted to turn up the filter on the picture "because, you know" *gestures to face*. I have really bad acne scars and at that time a lot of pimples, but never wear make up because it irritates my skin, and I've always been extremely insecure about my skin. Then another time when I was going through puberty and my body was changing a lot. I sat down and was paying a video game with my brother and he saw my legs and said " DANG when did your thighs get so fat!" =') non to mention all the times people have reminded me how small my head is and how I look terrible in hats...

The first one is it because you complained, that he covered it to make you feel better or was it to make fun of your nose?

I worked a summer job at a cherry warehouse and it was cooold. I was always bundled up and couldn't hear well because of the machinery noises... Apparently the young guys were playing a "game" where they would see how many girls they could flirt with without being turned down. one dude came up and asked "it's pretty cold in here... Maybe we can cuddle later?" MY DUMBASS didn't understand what he said So I just nodded my head and went back to work. Group of dudes was talking behind me I heard what he really said and then I heard a guy go : "she's not even skinny tho, she doesn't count" ...... 🙃
