"Joakim Noah wasn't that great".... You obviously never watched him play... He dragged a bulls team without another all star to the playoffs pretty much by himself, and was the best defender by far in the NBA over a 2/3 year period... He was an elite athlete and literally an MVP candidate in 2014. His game is outdated now but to question his peak is crazy

I actually disagree with this whole vid actually. 2010-11 lebron going to the heat & the pressure of them winning a championship, Drose MVP season, & also Dirk historic playoff run. 2011-12 it was a lockout season, but we had a fire ASG, playoff battles Heat vs Celtics, Okc vs Spurs, and Lebron playoff game 6, & lebron 1st ring. 2012-13 was overall great, Lebron historic season, Miami Heat 27 game win streak, Okc winning 60 games & also knicks being good, & the finals back & forth with ray allen hitting one of the most important shots in history. 2013-14 Kd Mvp season, Joakim Noah playing like a beast and...... Yeah not going to lie this year was pretty weak. 2014-15 Lebron returning to Cleveland forming another big 3. Warriors being a surprise team. Also the playoffs was competitive 1st round Clippers vs Spurs, Bulls vs Bucks. 2nd round Bulls vs Cavs, Clippers vs Rockets, Warriors vs Grizzlies. The finals where Lebron got 2 wins by himself against the stack warriors team without love or kyrie.

This might be the best argument for stats not telling the story. Only someone who didn’t watch those seasons would say something like this. 2010-15 seasons were no where near the worst. If anything, the seasons after that were Bc it was everyone fighting to lose to the Warriors. Watching Kobe trying to carry the injured super Lakers was amazing! Like his game against the raptors where he went crazy in the 4th quarter. The mavs championship run. The grizzlies and their bully ball w/ Marc & ZBo, were always a threat to steal a series and did a couple of times. Young OKC was fun to watch and always a threat. The pacers teams that battled with Miami in the playoffs. MIAMI BIG 3! The Knicks team w Melo & Amare. Could’ve actually beat Miami if Amare didn’t injure himself. I still remember a Knicks vs bulls game where Melo hit a 3 to send it to OT and hit another 3 in the same spot to win the game. Westbrook’s injury was actually good. We got to see KD with his own team and he was going crazy. I still remember the game where he dropped 50 on the warriors and hit that crazy shot over Green. Think KD hit a game winner against Dallas that year too. Was ADs crazy game winning 3 against Dallas in one of those years? Spurs were always good, watching them demolish the heat in the finals rematch was amazing. Idk if it was during that stretch, but I remember one year the West was so close, the 8th seed was like a 45+ win team (think it was the suns). Nuggets were another good team, even when they didn’t have a star. A team of role players still winning games. Didn’t Lob City Clippers start around that time too? Another exciting team to watch and they were deep. Finally thought CP3 would win. D12 and Harden on the Rockets hit the league hard. That matchup in the playoffs against the Blazers was crazy! Dame & LA Blazers were a solid team (no one thought they’d win it all, but solid). Love was balling in Min, putting up 30 and 20 games. Linsanity?! Think the Nets put together that failed super team as well, was interesting to see what they did. Wizards starting winning again, Wall broke out. I remember their battles against Toronto and Paul Pierce hitting game winners. The NBA was much more competitive. Teams were more spread out. Most teams had a superstar + a star, or multiple stars. So almost all primetime games were competitive and worth the watch (which is definitely not the case now, some primetime games are horrible). It wasn’t a lock for any team to make and win the finals. When the heat formed we knew they’d do well, but we still thought Boston (almost did), Knicks, and pacers (once they actually played), could actually beat them. There were so many memorable moments from different teams in those years. The years after that was all Cavs and Warriors. We knew the warriors would win it all every year. All the highlights and memories from those years are all Cavs and warriors finals clips Bc the regular seasons were pointless. Of course I may be remembering some things a little off, but the point is that 10-15 was wayyyy better than the years after it. More moments/memories and more competitive. Even now, there was talks of Tobias Harris making the all star team this year. He wouldn’t even be looked at in 10-15. The numbers are inflated now, so of course the stats looked better. Defense was better in 10-15. You had to actually be a fan of basketball at that time and watched. And not just look at some stats.

Scary Spongebob might just be me hating. I didn’t watch him with the clips at the beginning of the season. But I know he was scoring a lot. So I just assumed he was a product of the new fast paced scoring nba. Just thought it was crazy that he was in all star talks. I never really watched him on the clips. Knew he was decent w Orlando and pistons. Watched a little of him on Philli now, and he looks like he improved his scoring, but still looks like the same player. I know the all star talks were early in the season when clippers were doing well and I think he had a high scoring average, so maybe the talks were too early, Small sample size, and prisoner of the moment. He doesn’t have the same role in Philli that he did in LA, but I don’t see all star. Maybe I should’ve watched him in LA
@MrUtubeize
@MrUtubeize 5 лет назад
Aaries Harris Noah was an energy guy. Kind of like Draymond Green. He hustled and played 110% every play. I think that’s what got his all stars, didn’t he win a DPOY too? I remember when he started getting assist and people started calling him an amazing center. I was so confused, Bc the Bulls were literally running plays for him to get the ball at the top and pass to cutters, so it wasn’t like he was Jokic or Gasol. I do think Noah was hyped. But the hype was deserved. He didn’t have skill, just a high motor and hustle. That’s why he’s back in the league now.

LoW you're tripping b. You're coming at a league that was overall more entertaining than now just because there's less inflated stats than today due to rule changes, coaching and stylistic philosophies, etc. From a narrative standpoint there was a lot of really nice storylines that made the league really nice to follow. There were multiple seasons where the champions were not a foregone conclusions, plus we still had teams that didn't all play the same with the excessive 3 point shot jacking and small ball that at times becomes a hollow experience to watch. The thibs bulls could get it done scoring 85 points and playing defense while teams like okc, San antonio and others could light it up. This time period feature the last remnants of consistent defense, and physical play as well. Also I don't see how a 28 ppg scoring champion is unimpressive. There were less possessions in the game then and teams weren't scoring 120 a night. I feel like people who followed the league at this time would agree this was a dope period for the NBA especially due to the storylines

bro u tripping, this was one of funniest stretches in NBA history, a clean mixture of team play, 3pt shooting, defense, good solid teams, your typical powerhouse about a million rivalrys, scoring wasnt too low nor too high and games were competitive, it was exciting watching and wasn't a bunch of threes going up and scoring 50 points meant something and getting a triple double was actually hard, there were actually good games, going based off purely off of stats is ridiculous, if u actually watch those games u would know how fun this stretch was

I mean, if you're a fan of 138-125 score games, then this is your kind of ball, but I remember when I could actually watch the regular season & be entertained instead of a predictable Cavs vs Warriors finals every damn year. Honestly, who the hell actually enjoys the NBA currently when everyone knows in the back of their minds that it will be the Warriors holding up the trophy again? Give me 2008-2010 when you had a legit 8 teams that ALL HAD THE TALENT to win a title. Not this 2 team league bullshit that the NBA has turned into since 2015. The 2019 season is a little better in terms of talent being spread across the league, but 2015-2018 was absolute garbage when everyone knew it was gonna be Warriors & Cavs each year.

@AmericaWest90
@AmericaWest90 5 лет назад
Actually about this year, I'd have to disagree. I'd say there are 7 solid title contenders right now. The emergence of the Bucks, Toronto's upgrade in play with Kawhi, and the Harris trade to the Sixers make them all contenders (Boston's out in my book). Out west, the emergence of the Nuggets, Clippers, and Kings have been the stories of the league so far this season, with DEN being legit title contenders, along with OKC with presumable MVP PG13 has put pressure on the West's top teams, (DEN and GSW) and the Rockets when healthy are the biggest threat to Golden State. The Warriors lacked depth before Cousins was able to heal and with him he's averaging negative net ratings and is unable to finish games due to foul trouble. He hasn't improved at all since he returned and that's worrisome for the Warriors. They also are distracted with KD, Klay and Draymond's contracts this upcoming offseason. The title contenders have been slow out of the gates from the all star break, with the exception of the Raptors, and the team playing its best ball rn is the Kings, with the Lakers looking like they've given up tells me the playoff race in the west could be an all time great one. Nets are a playoff team in the east and the Hornets will have to try their hardest to make the 8th seed.

Lob City, the reigning Spurs, Portland led by Dame and McCollum, James Harden and the Rockets, the always underrated 2010's Grizzlies who were a pain in any up and coming team's neck. There were a ton of contenders that year. NOBODY expected the Warriors to even make it to the Finals, hell the Conference Finals, forget WINNING HE CHAMPIONSHIP that year. Everyone talks about how an injured Cavs team took them to 6 games but NOBODY mentions getting through the West that year wasnt exactly a piece of cake. If you actually watched these seasons you would know how entertaining they were. The playoffs during this five year stretch were also incredibly entertaining. In 2010 we had a Celtics Lakers Finals series with Kobe and the big 3 Celtics. In 2011 Dirk and the underdog Mavericks beat the heavy championship favorites in the Miami Heat. In 2012 we got to watch the incredibly entertaining series’ between the Heat and Pacers and the Heat and Celtics, and then got to watch LeBron win his first ring. In 2013 the East playoffs were entertaining once again, and then we got one of the best Finals series of all time with Ray Allen hitting the big three to force game 7. In 2014 we got another great Finals series between the Heat and Spurs and the Spurs got their revenge and most NBA fans were happy to see the Heat not three-peat. In 2015 we witnessed Steph Curry and the Warriors blossom into one of the best and most entertaining teams the league has ever seen. These seasons are what made me love the NBA.

The fact that you're counting the number of 30+pt seasons as well as 20&10 seasons to decide how entertained you are shows that you have a very unique viewpoint on the game. Also, the fact that you're hating on Noah and Gasol because they weren't elite offensive players (even though they were some of the best defenders in the league) but then also hate or harden because he didn't play enough defense doesn't really make sense. The way I see it, these years were some of the most entertaining in league history. Unlike today, each year we had no idea who was going to with the title. Although most people assumed that the Heat would run away with it, they lost to the Mavs in 2011, were down 3-2 to the Celtics in 2012, Were 5 seconds from losing against the Spurs in 2013, and lost in 2014. Back then the league actually had parity. Sure, you can argue that the league today is more entertaining because teams are scoring 140 points consistently and there are a few more guys averaging 20&10, but I would much prefer to watch basketball be played like it was played in that 5 year period than it is today. Back then we would watch teams grind out a 95-92 win while playing scrappy defense, while today we have to watch teams dribble up the court and shoot a contested 28 footer with 20 seconds left on the shot clock, just because analytics says that threes are the better shot. However, I don't blame you if you like the style of play more in today's NBA, offense is very entertaining. But, at least during that 5 year period we didn't have to watch the fucking Warriors sweep their way through the finals year after year.

The Pacers-Heat series went back and forth whenever they meet in the playoffs... 2012 Celtics VS Heat that went to 7 and we witness the angry Lebron game in TD Garden when his team down 3-2... The Finals matchup between the Mavs and Heat... 2014 OKC with MVP Durant going toe to toe with the Grizzlies in 7 games(4 OT games out of 7) and the Spurs molly whooping every team they face in 2014 except for the 8th seeded Mavs who push them to 7... Yeah, lots of storyline in the 2010-2015 era... Oh and don't forget the year the lob city Clippers beat the Spurs in a wild 7 game series, and then lost to Josh Smith and Corey Brewer in game 6 and proceeded to blew a 3-1 series lead... Warriors and Cavs went toe to toe despite Lebron losing Kyrie and Love in the Finals

So I wasn't the only one thinking this. I remember there was one year where Omer Asik was among the leaders in rebounds with only 11

The whole 2010's is weak to me not just that 5 year period the refs are trash and it seems like players care more about stats than actually winning. Only 2 seasons this decade that were great and that's 2013 & 2016.

2013 was clearly not great. No 20 and 10 players. Great finals tho

@@charlescooks9360by you saying there were no players that averaged 20 pt & 10 reb just proved my point. This decade is more about Stats padding and showboating than actual winning.

I loved these years because of the number of teams that were contenders. The heat of course, spurs, pacers, knicks and bulls for a little bit, celtics, grizzlies, thunder, clippers, lakers, mavericks, like dang. There were legit arguments for many many teams to win the title during those years. Yes, talent at an individual perspective was a little skeptical, but at a competitive standpoint, really fun to watch.

You just can't base it on stats alone. If you were really were watching from 2010-2015, they were actually more entertaining and less predictable. A 36 year old Tim Duncan was very good, and so was Noah who was the best center in 2014.

The only reason the numbers look so much better in comparison today is because of the high pace and high volume they play now. 2010-2015 is not something that can be evaluated just by looking at numbers. Storylines were a huge part of what made that stretch exciting

I don’t completely agree with your assessment of this period of time, but you do make some great points about how the league transitioned to the style we see today. Great video and definitely a conversation starter, good stuff.
