I'm so glad I've found this video. I'm 39. No children. My fibroids have grown rapidly within a year. Mine is also up to my bellybutton. During my pap, my doctor said that my uterus has shifted to the right. Talk about an uncomfortable pap smear. And my periods are long and heavy. My surgery is scheduled for March 2022.

I myself am one month out of Hysterectomy surgery, I had a 13 pound fibroid removed. The crazy thing is I had so much weight in the front I looked like I was pregnant but for some reason I didn’t experience any pain or heavy bleeding. I’m a heavy baker so I thought I was just gaining weight. Until one day I got up to go to the kitchen and fell to my knees in excruciating pain. Went to the hospital and found out. One thing I will say to you is to take your time with the healing process it is not easy your mind will make you think you can do things that your body will not allow good luck . Wishing you well and healing energy.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Lynette for sharing your story 😊. Some women are very discreet and shy away on speaking about hysterectomies🙄. I applaud you for coming forth and telling us your journey. I'm a sufferer of endometriosis and fibroids😱 and let me tell you, when "Auntie No No" comes every month, it is HELL times 100 to deal with the pain😠. I had a myomectomy back in 2008. I had 4 tumors removed. Now fast forward to 2016, I found out the fibroids were BAAAAAACK 😭 via a visit to the ER one evening. So in 2020, I'm debating and struggling with the idea of what procedure would be best for me🤔. Either way, I know sooner or later I'm gonna have to decide. Before I go, I wanna send a shout to your husband Stanley for being the strength, the support and the ROCK you needed! They don't make'em like Stanley no more 😅......LOL😂😂😂! Real men stick by their wives thru thick and thin! it's refreshing to see Black couples have that strong bond. Well now that I've talked you to death🤐 LOL, I wanna wish you a speedy recovery and thanks again for sharing your encouraging story😁!

Aww thank you Natasha. I was on the fence about speaking about it openly but I wanted to provide what I would have liked to have seen while researching for myself. Your story sounds a lot like mine, Natasha. Had myomectomies in 2007 AND 2008 to buy some time in case I wanted kids. That hasn't happened, I'm early 40s now and those jerks grew back with a vengeance. Time to make some big decisions, take care of my body and get my life back.

When I say Black don’t Crack! You don’t look your age at all! Thanks for sharing your story. I’ve gone through it as well with fibroids. I found out I had one when I got pregnant. The OBGYN was suppose to remove it during my C-Section but 2 years later and a visit to the ER I found out that wasn’t true. The fibroid was so big that they couldn’t tell the size. Long story short, the fibroid was 6 pounds and they had to remove through my C-Section incision so it’s like I had a baby without the baby. Just like yourself, I just thought I was fat but when my students kept asking me was I having another baby I was like something isn’t right. I’ll be praying for you through journey. You’re a strong woman!❤️

I had a partial hysterectomy for the same reason you did, when I was 36 years old.. I had two children by that time, and no previous issues until I was about 26 years old.. I had my tubes tied, because we were done having children (I had 2 kids by the time I was 17, but I was married at 15. Please don’t judge lol.. I’ve been married 27 years to that same man). For me I think (no doctor has or will ever tell me this) Artificial sugars in diet drinks caused my Fibroids.. I had started drinking diet drinks when I was 21, and by the time I was 25, that’s when the issues started.. I didn’t know what was happening until I was around 36 years old, and my daughter who was 20 at the time, figured it out.. I was anemic, and I was in terrible pain.. I thought I was dying.. Today I’m 42, I feel great, but I wished I had the hysterectomy sooner, because the anemia, left me so lethargic, I spent six year ( not exaggerating )either sleeping or lethargic .. Today, my daughter is expecting her first baby in January, and has been married for 7 years. I have a lot to look forward to.. thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Oh my goodness this journey is a blessing. I am in my mid 40s and have had awful periods since I was 10. I finally stopped being so sick, when I developed fibroids-go figure. But then came the heavier and longer cycles. I have never wanted children either and have always wanted an excuse for them to just take IT out. Then a few years ago when I found I had fibroids, they were growing and it was an option the nervousness kicked in. I have seen videos on the after, but never the journey. So am so appreciative of you putting yourself out there for people like us who are seriously contemplating this.

Great video series! I actually had a vaginal hysterectomy in June of 2015 and I still have my ovaries also. Deciding to have the surgery was one of the best decision that I have ever made. I had the heavy cycles and terrible pelvic pressure so I was willing to do anything to relieve the symptoms. I totally agree with you concerning vibes...when I met the doctor who was going to do my surgery I knew instantly that he was the one! Again, great content. Thank you so much for posting this. I saw your recovery supply video first, and I want to check out the whole playlist. I’m getting a Hysterectomy (keeping my ovaries) and Bilateral Salpgectomy next month in August 2022. I, too, do not have or want kids, and I’m tired of dealing with the pain in my uterus. My first BC method was an IUD, and after I had the worst period of my life, I discovered I had an ovarian cyst, Endometriosis, and three uterine fibroids. BC doesn’t work for me, and now I’m getting rid of the problem for good. I can’t wait to take notes and know what to expect. 😊

I am glad you shared this. Just a little about me. I struggled with having month-long periods in my thirties and early forties. I was told not to get pregnant from the age of 34 until my surgery in 2014. Both my mom and grandmothers had hysterectomies. I was also blessed to have a black female gyno who was like why are you walking around with your uterus intact? Dr. J was the best. She still cannot believe how well I healed from being cut from one side to the other (19 staples total).

After my fourth child I thought I was done having children so since I had to have a cesarean I said tie my tubes without any type of research. My cycle increased and my fibroids grew and I had so much pain. I was begging for relief and my gyn suggested the first procedure and I insisted he do the hysterectomy. My tubes are tied anyway. Thank you for sharing your journey 🙏🏾

Getting a hysterectomy in a couple of months and was told that even though it's a planned laparoscopic hysterectomy they might have to do a C-section cut which scares me. I'm only 30 so took over a year for any doctor to agree to do the surgery. Being done due to abnormal bleeding.

I had UFE with a grapefruit and orange back in 2007 when it was a new procedure. They died off within 6 months. Never grew back. I had a tiny bandaid on my pubic area. I couldn't see even see where the tiny catheretube thing was inserted. No scar! It was not a major cut. On my feet 3 days later. I wish UFE was promoted more because so many black women are suffering from these hysterectomies.
@red_edj
@red_edj 25 дней назад
I was considering UFE but I've seen a lot of testimonies where it failed or did not relieve the symptoms at all. I believe the success of UFE depends on the size of the fibroids. It seems like it's not successful for women with multiple large fibroids. Mine are really big now and I don't want UFE to fail or cause lots of pain from the fibroids dying. Then only having hysterectomy as the final option at that point.

I stumbled upon your channel since I’ve been looking for the real deal regarding hysterectomy recovery from people who’ve been through it. I’m scheduled to have mine done next Friday (nine days from now, yes I’m counting down). I have endometrial cancer so they’re removing -everything-. I’m 42, never been pregnant, no kids. Never wanted to have kids of my own. When I saw the oncologist a few days ago it basically went like this: Oncologist: “there’s a few treatment options, if you want to preserve your fertility-“ Me: NOPE. at my age I shouldnt have kids anyway, and I’ve never wanted to give birth. Also fiance has had a vasectomy and has a two year old grandchild so that’d be a bit weird.” Oncologist: “well then, first treatment for endometrial cancer is generally a hysterectomy. You’ll go through menopause since we have to remove everything and won’t be able to get pregnant” Me: “this thing has given me nothing but problems since I started having periods at 12 anyways, let’s do it”. And of course, since my uterus officially has its eviction notice, it’s gonna make my life hell for the next nine days (intense pelvic pain right now).

I have fibroids to and I had been going through years of heavy cycles to the point I was wearing depends. He finally put me on a continuous pill to prevent me from having a cycle. Which so far is working. Do you find that Dr's will down play the issue just so you won't go through the hysterectomy? I pee a lot too, but my OBGYN has not said anything about my organs possibly shifting. I'm also wondering if this is why I feel I'm morphing into a dude with all these hormonal changes. I live here in RVA do you mind sharing your Dr. If not I understand. Thanks
@LifeWithUsTV
@LifeWithUsTV 4 года назад
Email me and I’ll give you the surgeon info LifeWithUsTV@gmail.com . If your uterus is big then that’s probably why you pee a lot, it’s the weight of it pushing down on the bladder. I had no clue either. No, actually my doctor always considered it as a plan of action but only when we’ve kicked the can down the street as far as it could go. You definitely have to be sure you do not want kids or anymore kids etc. He wanted me to have the option of laparoscopic surgery so he advised me to do it this year because next year it may not be an option due to the size of the fibroids
