WELL BOYS AND GIRLS. I painted the the ultimate ve 12v Cummins engine panther pink. What you guys think ? i really like the colors of the engine, now we just need to get this engine in and running, see what kind of power we will make with this bad girl, I hoping to help a bunch of guys with does and don’t on building a high power VE 12v Cummins.

I really like the glossy paint on the engine and the color combinations. I would be very interested in seeing you document various HP level combinations. That is the sort of stuff that keeps me interested as it is educational. Also interested in what that VE pump will do on your buddies stock engine. As always, thanks for the content.

I have a very similar build going at the moment at Titan Diesel Sports in Weatherford TX. So far it's a 24v head VE pumped and compound turbo build. We're even going with those Speed of air pistons and total seal rings. This is going into my 01 excursion. So the goal is to 500-550 ish hp but very much streetable as a sweet road trip rig. Lots of suspension parts as well. Not sure if the VE is going to be a ratman pump or just something Sheldon mods himself but either way it will be sweet

I have every issue of DP, up until they went to the web. Like to sit and see the print than my phone. I have a 2004 f250 4x4 with a ve pump. Luv it. Luv the content you do.

Season that engine with some ''mild'' HP. Crank her up after all's settled in. Color is pretty cool. Reminds me of mother Mopar's heyday during the muscle car wars. I like the panther pink, plum crazy purple, ....

Just finished a GM 5L in pink. The hi temp pink engine paint had to come from the USA..but was worth it once done up. Pink,black and chrome work well together...if'n ur putting it ur daughters K10. ...nice color u did there....but I'm gonna pick on u if I see it ur truck.

Used to read that diesel power mag as well..I remember that 2wd "rust bucket" rig... probably 15 year's ago??.. let that pink ,or whatever color you said,outfit on the floor there f@#$&n eat 👍👊

If it doesn't wreck your budget. Showing incrimental changes, helps lower budget people figure out what they can expect.

When it comes to the pink 12v, 100% I reckon start off at lower numbers and build it up. As a viewer I personally enjoy watching all the finer adjustments on a dyno take place and see the results they yield so people like myself can gain a better grasp of adjustments we make on the street in terms of making power as efficiently as possible and how they change things like drive psi, egt, torque etc... But Whatever will get you views in all honesty. I love the ve's, down here in Australia all our performance stuff is ve so any content on them is great. Party on Rob love the content mate

Problem is that for us guys that already have a high hp P7100 setup, personally i could never come close to using a lazy VE setup.

My farrell stage 4 (12mm plungers #640 ccs) makes 1089 fuel only, but im limited on head flow big time, im have a popular shop down in ohio do something for me maybe made out of aluminum that flows near 300 cfm @.600" 🫣🤫 . a stock 12v head flows 125-140 ishhh. i should be able to squeeze 2-2.5hp per cc out of it, once my brain knows what that # is, im gonna move up to a custom 12.5mm element or 13mm element, ddp is hyping up thw 12.5, but ive built many 13mm setups that ran cleaner than a maxed out 12mm because of them needing alot less duration , BUT you loose the 8 degrees of timing advance (nasty aggressive power) when you go from a 12mm 215 element to a 13mm "180" style. I think the record on a 12mm p7100 is like 1583hp. im just saying theres nothing better about a ve, except for fast fire ups i guess lmao otherwise i dont see why Gavin and now rob are hyping them up, youve been ve i think? BTW im big dan of you, the way you burnish in those tapered rod bearings is an artform. My machine shop wasnt familiar with doing that, and i made them get the stuff to do it 🤣

@@JCSDieselPerformance I would not say it’s the head holding you back. About 15 years ago I had a pretty stock parts 5.9 do 1300 on the engine dyno with just a box stock s480. It was a ported stock head with stock size valves. I know fair valley makes a 16mm with timing. I am not sure if they make a 13 that way. My problem with high hp p-pump trucks on the street is they have very touch throttles and you still don’t have the timing range a ve offers. 400-550hp is the sweet spot for ve’s. At that power level the mods needed are minimal and they will outperform a p pump in daily use at that level. For 600+ it’s cheaper to just do a p pump. Personally for over 1000hp street truck I would just do a common rail because they behave so much better. Everyone likes their toys so we have a variety we can play with. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to others but it’s still fun. 😈
