Leah Vincent went through hell and came out a woman of valor. She endured so much, but she didn't let this trauma crush her or defeat her.
Her frank & moving account of her struggle to liberate herself from her extreme Orthodox Jewish family and a brutal rape is something that everyone must watch.

Her parents are responsible for all the trauma she suffered. They abandoned her when she most needed them.

It’s cool she’s able to tell her story, when at many times throughout this she was silenced or unable to find the words to validate her own experience. What a survivor

So Sorry you had to go through all that to find your way to yourself. I think many cultural norms start out perhaps with good intentions. As a way to 'shelter' people from the world. It can be 'protective' but the problem is that these 'protections' attract outliers. The clothing 'protections' become constrictive, or the rules about avoiding men except when designated, becomes restrictive... etc. Having said that good boundaries are often helpful to survival but when one considers 'survival' as protecting your 'virtue' then that's where things get muddled and where one can question why this is so. It is better for the world to teach that every single person has a right to live freely and when considering laws that govern people in that world consider regulating what is not just right for men, or for women, or for a certain class, or color but for everyone, as much as possible. When society protects every single person's rights, we live in a freer space.

One thing i have learned in this world is this, there is nothing static here, every thing changes, every moment there is a new revelation, manifestation & message⁰. "Each moment contains a hundred messages from God." Rumi Either we listen to this message coming from the depth of our soul or ignore it, If u want to understant Moses & his religion & teaching, u have to take it from what has been revealed to moses, not from commentries of this & that rabbi scattered all over Talmud. It seems to me rabbis have made simple religion too much formalistic, ritualistic & legalistic, judaism has lost its original essence & simplicity, with hundreds of invented commandments & thousands of legalities. This is no more the original religion given to Moses on mount sinai. ‘How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? (Jeremiah 8:8, NIV) Similarly if u want to understand Jesus & his message, u have to take it from words of Jesus, not what bullshit rabbies, & different churches say about him. Here is my understanding about Jesus, Jesus was an Israeli Prophet & his primary audience & follower were children of Israel. He has not come to abolish laws of Torah or establish a new religion but offcourse his understanding of laws were quite different from Rabbies, he didn't claimed deity status. some of jews of his time, also call him as the King of Jews also keep in mind, Jesus was actually a big challenge for jewish orthodoxy, chief among these people were the scribes & Pharisees. Everywhere Jesus went, He attracted huge throngs, multitudes, crowds pressing around to listen to His every word, Pharisees couldn’t stand it because they were envious & suspicious of His popularity among jews. The second reason why they hated Him was because He exposed them. In short Pharisees feared losing their power & authority among jews. Now coming to paul & church fathers who have infact hijacked Jesus's teaching & now preaching nonsense in the name of Jesus. Different churches are preaching this, that just some sort of believe, that Jesus died on the cross to take away the sins of the world. Will give them by grace ticket to kingdom of heaven. I even doubt these idiots know where is the kingdom of heaven is. I believe in revealed knowledge but now I am not a blind follower of anyone , nor I preach immitation & blind following. Difficulty is with our preset mindset & ego (fear based self). We are not willing to come out of our safety/comfort zone, break the self created barriers, re-evaluate, re-think ,re-educate & update our understanding in the light of new revealation, new manifestation & latest information available. Rather we are afraid of change. "Everything about yesterday has gone with yesterday. Today, it is needed to say new things.” Rumi

If u want to literally follow or implement something, u need original manuscript which both judaism & church don't have Even reform jews & researchers agree Torah available now is not word to word from God Even a cursory read of the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, shows that the Torah could not have been written by a single person - because of differences in style, language and contradiction in the texts, among other things. That's why reform jews don't apply it literally the way orthodox jews do. I don't Immitate or blindly follow either of them, But logically speaking reform do have a valid point.

let's see how this works: 1. Rebel girl leaves her community, becomes promiscuous, and has premarital sex. 2. Her promiscuity leads to a bad case of Chlamydia and she becomes infertile. 3. Traumatized by the STD and its lasting damage she decides to REWRITE history: "no, I never gave consent, I only wanted a platonic relationship. He raped me. Heck they all raped me". 4. "while I'm at it, why don't I write a book about it and make a full-time living off peddling my garbage to all who would buy it". Oh, how convenient. Vincent rewrites her own history concurrently with thousands of other women across America who suddenly become obsessed with the fabricated "college rape culture" followed by the metoo movement. Got it.

I've heard so many things from my girl friends where men crossed very clearly communicated boundaries and I have experiences with it myself. This shit isn't anecdotal. Just google the stastics, you'll see the amounts of women who have had to deal with sexual violence. What, you think they are all liars???? What to speak of the cases that don't get reported. You honestly need therapy. Some woman has hurt you and you are so bitter that you cannot see reality as it is anymore. Your callousness is repulsive.
