My man I started cleaning cars a long time ago before all this you tube stuff and it was hard I was polishing and waxing by hand using over the counter mess there was no-one to get info from and detailing was a big secret if you wasn't in a shop you were lost.i was going house to house cleaning and made good $$$$ on day i got online and Griots garage came up and that stuff was considered expensive back then and i got their porter cable kit and things really changed,now all these products and info out here is crazy keep doing what you do F#%& the haters bro they will always be here maybe one day I'll post a cleaning session good luck peace

This is the absolute best comment. I’m 23 but I grew up with my father having me go outside and do what I thought was just waxing. Overtime I learned he was having me wax it at times and correct it at others. It was the first ever taste of detailing, and I didn’t even know it was a thing. He just had me keeping his cars nice lol.

Great video Luke! I especially liked the part where you mention where beginners(I included) mess up when learning to do paint correction. One would be quick to blame the tool, but you can get good results with any tool, but if you don't know how to maneuver that tool, you won't see results. It's all just practice in the end. Thanks also for showing a little of how you handle the DA on the front bumper cover, something we don't see enough of during these instructional videos. Cheers Luke!

HD recommends using One followed by Poxy. Speed however is described as a single use combination mix between One and Poxy however its just not as strong as using them seperately. They mention use of One and Poxy for a first time customer paying for a detail paint correction then Speed alone on follow up jobs. They all are three EXCELLENT products!

Using dual action polisher I recommend for entry level detailers. It’s hard to make errors and doesn’t leave swirl marks. I prefer the good old fashion dewalt polisher over dual action polisher. I’m saying this because of heavy oxidation and deep scratches vehicles will not give you great results with a simple dual action. Best dual action I’ve used is the mt300. You will use many products and pads just for a section at a time. But it gives you the results of a dewalt first and using a dual action polisher to finish the vehicle.

What’s the difference between a 1 step 2 step 3 step paint correction? Also, if polishing is for bringing out the shine and remove small blemishes, and there are pads that attack the scratches more harder, do you need to use “compound”?
@utzdeac
@utzdeac 4 года назад
one step gives you a level o correction, 2 steps gives you more correction, multi steps are for "show car". yes, the compound is for removing more clear coa,t so more defects and after compound you need to polish to refine the clear coat, usually the compound will leave haze in the clear coat and with polish you will remove that haze/holograms and bring the shine

He’s not very skilled...he’s trying to cut time by using more polish and buffing larger sections at a time which is really just cutting corners. Sometimes he doesn’t even apply pressure as he’s compounding. Also also, he’s not overlapping his passes by 10 - 15 percent 🤦🏻‍♂️ Much better to use less compound and buff 18x18 or 24x24 sections at a time. Meshing together certain products, Backing plates, Pad types, Pad brands, comfort in your overall movement, arm speed, pressure, cycling the product properly etc. is what's going to give you different results. There's pros and cons to every long throw DA no matter what the cost. It really just depends on your preference.
