Nice review of an important topic. I use my 9mm Glock 17 gen 5 with mounted Olight inside my home. With a 30-round mag option I'm confident that I can handle situations and go around corners with ease. I do keep my PepperBall TCP and VKS staged and ready at home but I would use them for minor issues outside the home, in the yard, and most likely during the daytime only.

You have the absolute right idea! Lethal home defense and less lethal outside the home! In NY someone could back their truck up and start loading the contents of your garage and you have no right to shoot them with a firearm but I would definitely give them a taste of Grimburg projectiles!

I prefer having the HDR68 in one hand, HIGH LUMEN flashlight in the other for blinding and hard punches, HDR68 hand ready to quickly switch to a knife if the non lethal doesnt stop the threat while i still have flashlight for blinding in the other hand. Basically without thinking about it what i have is somewhat of a modern interpretation of ww1 trench warfare but adapted for home defense with a strong flashlight and non lethal HDR instead of a revolver. This works great in close quarters.

Depending on the layout of your house, you might want to also add the PavaShot NPDD Concussion grenade. I've seen it in use and it'll scare the crap out of any intruder when it goes off disorienting them with its blast. And one of the best things about it is that its reloadable for more uses in the future.

This is why you should have a plan and practice executing that emergency plan . As long as no family members are down stairs and all are upstairs and accounted for , I am not going to clear the house but maintain my position and call the cops and if anything was to come in to that door I am going to change both of our lives . In my house my room is first so in order to get to my love ones you would have to get pass me. Last but not least , if you come into my home nonlethal is out of the window ( Going Hot ) . I enjoy and support all of this guy's post , keep em coming and stay blessed .

Some cameras and motion sensor help you in this situation . HDX has glass breaker nozzle who can be use as weapon too, in hand to hand combat.

In my opinion, a handgun is best home defense. If you can’t legally own a firearm, a PCP rifle would be next best thing, but are very pricy. The least priced item I would use is a Hatsan 130. It will take a person who is in shape to function the rifle, but it’s definitely my cheapest bet for home defense.

I totally agree nothing beats a handgun! Obtaining a pistol permit in NY is time consuming!

@@airgunnerreviews7888 wow, I couldn’t even do it. I would just move, but not everyone has that option. I think I’d rather live in a car in a different state tho 🤣 just messing with ya man.

You could use the tcr with pepperballs and shoot 2 into each room while going down the stairs...but alas you would need a full face gas mask. Carry a knife or short baton on you as well, learn how to defend and strike with a short baton. Always strap the byrna pistol on your hip as backup, also you could use it as a blunt force weapon...even your hdx shotgun the barrel has a metal sharp edge for blunt force ....there is plenty you tube self defense instructors will teach how to use batons,kabuton short sticks etc.😊 Godbless and thank you for the videos😅

I greatly appreciate your videos!!! Great job on them! I NEED your opinion and advice on a non-lethal weapon, please asap!!! I have been trying to find something non lethal for my wife. And would greatly appreciate any recommendations or insights that you can provide. I am looking for something easy for her to operate in a self defense situation, but that packs a serious punch. Preferably something that has multiple shots (more than 7, hence Bynra Le) and has a laser to help with accuracy for her. I was looking at the pepperball Tac-sa due to it's 180 hopper. But I don't think that gun would be very practical to carry with outside the home as far as the bulky size. I looked into the Bynra Mission 4 but once again the bulky size is not going to be the best. You brought up many great points in this video on gun sizes!! 👍 I was looking for a smaller gun type that holds more than the 7 balls like Bynra Le as I mentioned before but yet is smaller than the Tac-sa or Mission 4. I need power to act as a deterrence for my wife to get away. I NOTICE you seem to think Bynra lacks the power, which highly concerns me, especially with winter time and heavy jackets!/coats!! I also would like the Co2 to be ready to fire at any time, which I believe you said the Byrna does do that. So that's one positive for Byrna. As stated before, I would like to be able to put a laser on the gun to be able to help her with accuracy!!! I know that is one of her concerns in a high stress, self defense situation, and also while she would appreciate knowing she has multiple shot chances. I'm sorry for such a long post, but I wanted to try to let you know what I'm looking for. And I am not even sure if it's out there. I look forward to your expertise and insight on which non lethal gun you think would be the best and why?? I realize a real gun wins all of the time though. God Bless!!!

I ran across the Umarex hdx 68 40 joule shotgun. What's your thoughts on that gun?? Also I wanted to ask what's more important in your opinion; having more shots with less power or having less shots with more power?? Sorry for all the trouble!

Personally I carry the Byrna LE with chemical rounds, my wife prefers the SD model because it is lighter and more compact so it doesn’t take up as much room in her pocketbook. I purchased an extra 7 round magazine for her SD since it only comes with the 5 round mags and they’re interchangeable. My LE is more powerful but not sure if necessary when loaded with chemical projectiles since they break on impact. I actually own the hdx shotgun, mine takes 2 c02 cartridges and did my own modifications. It is super accurate with good power and looks like the real deal! Good Luck!

@airgunnerreviews7888 Thanks for the reply! I greatly appreciate it!! Which one is better, TCR or Mission 4 as far as multiple shots and why?
@airgunnerreviews7888
@airgunnerreviews7888 9 месяцев назад
The Mission 4 uses 88 gram C02 so it gets better shot count and is more powerful! With that being said I purchased the TCR because you can adjust the power, more compact and less expensive to shoot with the 12 gram C02! I really like the fact that your first trigger pull pierces the C02 and you’re ready to fire away, I also like the C02 drop in design and it is real fun and inexpensive to shoot!

@airgunnerreviews7888 Thank you for your insight! 👍 I think we are leaning towards the TCR. You bring up some great points on it, that conformed our thoughts!!! One more question, what's the best maintenance practice/schedule for the TCR?

If they aren't modified to shoot atleast 40 joules you aren't stopping anyone. Better be loaded with pepper if you are only running 20 joules.

You are exactly on point! With any Byrna product you really need chemical rounds to be effective

@@ScaredyCatTactical thanks! I was having second thoughts about getting those. BTW, live in Southeast Asia, where guns are nearly impossible to get. Machete and knife wielding thugs could break into one's home, so I was advised to get a less lethal for initial defense, plus those magazine-fed crossbows if lethal needs arise. HDR 50 is the only launcher available here.

You may want to rethink using Chemical rounds inside your home as the chemicals are almost impossible to clean up without using a professional cleaning service that specializes in hazmat chemicals. The Pepperball powder will linger on any porous surface, fabric furniture, and in the carpets which exposes you, your family, and your pets to the effects of the Pepperballs for several months. It's not a pleasant experience at all.
@thepepperballprepperlessle6486
Great video. And some real things to consider. I think people that get ARS for home defense are not thinking practical at all. I’d take a hand held launcher or firearm any day over a long gun or marker in the home.

A shorter stock for the HDX would be nice. I've got one coming in the mail (someday). Can you tell me; does the co2 cart. go as long as it's covering stock?

@@airgunnerreviews7888 With the 88 or 90 gram co2 cartridge installed, and with the hdx stock clicked into place... Does the end of the co2 cartridge reach the end of the stock?
@airgunnerreviews7888

I am using two 12 gram C02 cartridges, I have not modified it for the larger cartridges. Although I won’t get the max power I prefer the quick pierce system and 12 gram is much cheaper!
