I just ordered and received my Mace 2 Pepper Launcher made by Salt Supply. This product offering is amazing! Mine is yellow in color which I like. I had looked at Byrna and the LE model but was not convinced enough t to purchase it. Glad I waited for the S2 to come out . About $200 cheaper than the Byrna LE and much more powerful. The effective range of the S2 was a major factor in my decision to purchase the Byrna LE. Byrna products seem overpriced and overrated in my opinion.
My cousin said there is someone handing you off another byrna because one shot was more than the 3rd or 4th and it should have been less.....is he wrong?
Byrna replaced my original Byrna LE after repair because it was very inconsistent, unfortunately the second LE failed and needed repair and after receiving it there is a 100 fps drop between the first and second shot.
I was wondering what happen to you? It's weird that RU-vid unsubscribed me from your channel. Of course your's is only one of a dozen I've been unsubscribe to in the kast few months. Im going to have to send both of our Byrna in to be fixed. One doesn't hold the round in place when you release the magazine and the other is randomly firing from safe mode when you pull the trigger to charge it. I almost shot myself in the leg/foot the first time it happened two months ago. Its happened 5 more time since.
@@airgunnerreviews7888Sorry for the delayed reply... One is an SD and the other is a Hi Viz (a limited edition that's supposed to be a stronger version of the SD designed for military and law enforcement, but weaker than the LE). If I was comfortable with opening them up, I might be able to see what's wrong with the SD at least, but the Hi Viz is another story since it seems to be random.
I haven’t found any yet that I would recommend, I use the Comfort Tac belly band holster. You have to make a small modification by taking a razor and removing a small stitch at the bottom of the holster pocket and every less lethal pistol will fit in with no problem. Bro what you actually did you showed how much better the byrna is then the salt your incorrect sir what I saw was the byrna shot really hot the first shot that should b plenty with the oc shot after the first shot with the byrna it consistently stayed at 280 ish fps the salt was higher yea but after 9 shots it dropped to way low numbers the byrna stayed consistent the whole time you just made your self look pretty dumb sir
I’d you bothered reading all the other comments you are alone in your thinking! The Byrna had only one hot shot (406fps) before dropping off 100 fps so if you missed with the first shot your screwed. After 6 shots the Byrna dropped off to 292 fps (11.43 joules) while the S2 6 shot average was 365 fps (17.85 joules). It is not practical to think you are going to have time to reload in a self defense situation so most people would rather have the most amount of power within the first magazine. You can throw insults all you want but facts are facts.
@@airgunnerreviews7888 don't miss with the first shot the lol I like the byrna better so mayb I'm just biased lol but if you panick Ina high stress situation you shouldn't own one of these cause your putting not just your welfare at risk of injury but everyone in proximity idk who you are you get shot with a projectile with the pepper mix traveling fast enough to break the round and deploy the pepper mix your all done so you can like the salt if you want I prefer the byrna I saw consistency with both of them and a huge fall off with the salt after the last round tye guy fired while the byrna fired around 230 the entire time
I remember watching this and wanting one so bad. Now I have 3 48's and 2 54's, 4 34's and several Diana springer pistols and love them all. One 48 barrel in .22 came loose. I will drill two holes through the side of the receiver and side of the barrel and put tapered pins in with loktite retaining compound. I bet it will hold. They are pressed in from the factory. Could have been dry fired.
I have several myself and think they are the best in the industry and worthy of passing them down from generation to generation! Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment!
The S2 is too big to conceal carry in my opinion but excellent for vehicle or a secondary home defense weapon. The LE is a better choice for carrying. Hope that explanation makes sense, thanks for dropping by!
The salt S2 has more consistent power and is built like a tank for 1/2 the price of the LE. I have also had two LE’s fail! I have shot about 800 rounds through the S2 with no issues. The first 2 or 3 shots with the LE will have more power than the S2 but the salt has more consistent power and averages higher fps when shooting the entire mag. If an intruder takes you by surprise the Byrna will pierce and shoot at the same time but the S2 you have to have time to pierce the C02 in order to fire and that could be a problem. Unfortunately there is no easy answer!
@@airgunnerreviews7888 Hmmm. That is a big concern of mine, in terms of self defense every second matters and having to charge/pierce the C02 seems risky. I guess if you charge it before going out or something it would slowly leak and compromise the FPS? Decisions decisions. No easy answer as you said. Great content thanks for replying!
Honestly you can use just about any .68 round in your Byrna. The Byrna Kinetic rounds are a strong bore match, but you're not bound to their rounds. They say using any other rounds or CO2 will void your warranty, but let's be real, how would they know unless you're posting it on your social media.
Highly considering this one after my LE had to get repaired. Only question I have is if it would fit in the same safe box I have. Do you know if it would fit in a box with these dimensions: 9.25” x 7.15” x 1.75”
Awesome. I had reached out to byrna , I had a question about a product that I wanted to add on to my byrna. Sent them an email and I got a response within hrs. Great customer service. ❤
Hi Byrna, Awesome video about the HDP50! Got one for my girlfriend, cuz she's little Scared of real.guns. I notice in your video. You said that you dye the orange black So it looks like a real gun. If you point at somebody trying to hurt you. They Can you tell it's not a real gun? Please send me to the video where you do that? Where you dye it black, please.
@@jameslitsey2512 are you blowing it in their face? Probably not.. are you making a huge cloud of dust in their face? Probably not... And no I don't work for byrna either.. also I said I think.. usually means not sure so before you get all pissy ensure your level of comprehension is working with you
@@airgunnerreviews7888 so i had to bring byrna into it... they stated "its made of a corn starch and do not suggest anyone to eat any of the projectiles" so based off of that if you had a bunch of those you could use it and not get into legal trouble and shall the unfortune event were to occur and you only had those and the court was like why did you use these projectiles. all youd have to say is the warning is about consuming them not a warning of you cant use them against a target
I drilled the plastic bit out of the brass valve inside my LE like LL4D did and my LE now averages 22 joules on the first 7 shots and is quite a bit louder. I got 437, 444, 419, 403, 390, 375, & 369. I know taking it apart is not for everyone, but it makes me trust the thing a lot more. That being said, I usually carry my Grimburg Gavle because I know that it has serious stopping power.
@@jameslitsey2512 I don't. It was just watching LL4D's video and wanted to try it for myself, unsatisfied with the chrono numbers I had been getting with my LE. I really don't think the gun is as complicated as people say it is. It is just annoying to put back together.
@@lesslethalhawaii Less Lethal 4 Dummies has a video showing what he did. I only did the part where he drills out the small brass piston. The other two things he did made my Byrna not work correctly, so I reversed them. You don't need to drill through the back like he does. Just drill out the plastic part in the front.
I have to say I would have went with the crono readings with the one furthest away because that would have been more realistic if you were actually using it.
My Byrna got stolen out of my rental, and was about to replace it with another Byrna, but after this video, SCREW BRYNA! I’m about to buy an S2, based on your great video, Sir! Was wondering if the S2 can sit with the Co2 cartridge in it, without piercing it, so that is ready when ya need it to be?!?
I just put up a video today on the longevity of Byrna. Fortunately I did not get a dud in my LE performs great but by far the salt S2 is a more superior weapon. Just like I don't carry the LE on my person, I would not carry the S2 either. Although I do own the S2 and I do keep it in the house as a less-lethal option.
I just finished watching your video and it is always nice to hear a different perspective on Byrna! I still love my SD and has been a solid performer and is the smallest LL on the market. My first LE lasted 10 months before failure and after repair the power was very inconsistent and sent a video to Byrna, it was sent back and replaced after they tested it for themselves. The second LE failed within 2 days of ownership! I am hoping they will redesign the LE to be more reliable and take off the bulky boost off the front. Thanks for stopping by and appreciate your comment!
The Byrna looks better and has a good piercing system, but that’s about all! Power is really important, so is constantly! Byrna lacks BOTH after the first couple shots!
I really don't view this video as a review, but more of a dissuasion video. You didn't really show the retention and how to adjust the cantor. Thanks though.
