I went through a spell like this with my husband. I became incredibly resentful of him and our relationship because I kept giving too much of myself away to him and the relationship, and I wasn’t getting what I emotionally wanted and needed in return. Truly, it was self imposed resentment because I kept ignoring that little voice inside my head that kept telling me I wasn’t staying true to myself. I got over the resentment by making a choice to stop doing what my heart was telling me not to do and making myself and my needs a priority. My husband changed when he noticed I was taking my life back and honoring myself and not putting up with BS anymore. In short, he became afraid he’d lose me because I was become a better and truer version of myself. Never give away too much of yourself to people, especially the wrong people… that’s when the heart becomes bitter and cold.

Tony Marin Well…. He was pretty insecure for a while and during every fight he’d tell me he was going to divorce me, and for a long time he told me he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to marry me… he was basically pushing me away so he didn’t get hurt in the long run if it ended. It actually did push me away… but I became stronger, and he became softer. Sometimes you gotta go through some really rough season when two broken people come together.

@brookemoore8369
@brookemoore8369 3 года назад
dog Groomer No, he just has really bad trauma stemming from his mom abandoning him when he was growing up that he never healed from, so anytime he’d get close to a woman, he’d push them away so he wouldn’t get hurt again. This bad behavior came out in a lot of ways when we first got together and the first parts of our marriage. I even left for a stint because he wouldn’t change. After I left, he started to realize how much of a problem his behaviors were, and he slowly began fixing himself. I also had to do work by realizing my worth and not putting up with BS anymore. Now, he’s a wonderful husband that does everything he can to make sure I’m happy emotionally, financially, etc, and I’m a woman that knows my worth and stand up for myself and what I believe in. People can either decide to change or not change… but there’s always a consequence if they choose the latter.
@brookemoore8369

Norman Viking I completely agree. If one or both people get into a relationship without doing the work to heal themselves first, then chaos usually ensues. For me, I wasn’t quite aware of how “agreeable” I was to people I loved, so I always let people push me around because I didn’t know my worth. There’s always a lesson to be learned…

My husband was 22 when our first was born. I don’t think he’d ever held a baby before. We didn’t go back for another for nearly 5 years we were in shock. Then we had two more. We used to stand there looking at all three of them - completely different personalities, challenges, quirks and such completely different appearances that we wondered where the middle one came from with his blonde curly hair and the face of an angel - and I would turn to my husband and say “ok - this has been fun, but when are the adults coming to pick them up?” He would smirk cos he knew very well that it was only a tiny bit of a joke. I hope the new dad realises that it gets better. Our eldest is 22 now and we laugh so hard at the thought of him being a father. He joins in. My kids probably wondered at times if an adult was going to come and pick them up to. We have all survived.

Every time I hear a woman say “my wonderful husband” it usually means he’s not so wonderful. It’s a mental “game” women play to make things sound better than they really are because admitting there’s an issue feels shameful or something. If a man is wonderful, you don’t have to re-affirm or prove that vocally to strangers.

@maam-yj8ph Год назад
Exactly. I am not on board with lying and manipulating people into having children. Better to have people "on the fence" give parents of their God children/nieces and nephews a much needed respite for a weekend or two and see if this is something you are willing to commit to doing. No one is or should be forced to be a pet parent; how much more so a human being. Also bear in mind that just because they are your kids does not mean they will not inherit your worst qualities or be the strongest willed, most defiant bastards or the sickliest invalids, or the whiniest cowards. "For better or for worse/in sickness and in health" can get very real with kids.
@tethergobrrr
@tethergobrrr Год назад
@@maam-yj8ph All angles infuriate me! The pressure to have kids on people who aren’t equipped or disposed isn’t pro children, it’s neglectful of their needs. And the negation of the difficulties involved creates a culture where struggling parents are under-supported & guilt-tripped. My own family (too complex to describe in the RU-vid comments!) needs a financially secure unencumbered adult (me) much more than another stressed out struggling parent.. I can be the calm in the storm for both young and very old.

Her crying made me anxious which only made her cry more. She didn’t sleep well. I was constantly on edge like I would lose it any second. I had to go on medication and see a therapist in order to be a good mom. I had two more kids and it was much easier after the first. Not everyone is meant to be a parent and I really wish people would be more honest about what the experience is actually like. I have never been interested in being a parent, I find the idea of pregnancy repulsive, I don't *hate* children but I don't particularly enjoy their company... nothing about the idea seems good to me. I was told my entire life that my feelings would change and that I'd eventually feel that interest and that even if I wasn't totally sure, it was different when they're yours and I would love my kids anyway. I cannot imagine a more selfish gamble, so I stuck with my instinct and chose not to be a parent. I married someone who shares my feelings and we have a fantastic marriage. Some people have always known that they want to be parents, some people are nervous about it and end up loving it, and some people have kids because they think they're supposed to and then regret the decision for the rest of their life, even though it's not socially acceptable to admit that. I agree with John that you have an obligation of care if you choose to have a child, but promising people that they'll definitely eventually love parenting feels disingenuous.

The officers initiate the harm endorsed by politicians and are the ones imposing their will for victimless crimes in the name of collecting revenue for the state. You got it all backwards.

Concerning the Dad caller...it's really sad that JD had to keep saying "you're not going to leave." It's so heartbreaking that men have such poor reputations of sticking around when things become difficult, that JD had to repeatedly encourage him not to leave his family. That is soul crushing.😔

I think she either needs to accept that this is who he is, this instability that he brings to their life, or she needs to put her foot down and say I’m not moving anymore. My point being, she has to decide the fate of her own life. She seems to feel victim to what he does. Sometimes that how it is in marriage , you have to sacrifice because the other person just has personality traits that aren’t going to change. So your choice is to get on board with his quirks or to say, I’m not doing it! And hope that they stay with your boundaries and can live with what you need. She may provide him stability by putting her foot down. I’ve been in her shoes and I wish I had known that I was allowed to choose and make my own life, WHILE not leaving my marriage.

@@jeradkiester698 Thank you for your response. I'll be short. Was there any message of victory for this exhausted wife and mother? Was Dr. Daloney's counsel correct in concluding with - "I hope you are not teaching resentment to your girls?" Was any part of his counsel inspired with Truth?

I wanna say something super weird and out of context. I think either he doesn't like his wife and is projecting it to the baby or he didn't want a baby but he did it out of obligation. I don't want a baby rn and if I had one rn I sure as hell wouldn't be feeling awesome.

Dr john should have asked more questions to the dad. That’s such a dangerous situation. He doesn’t like a 30 day old baby. Did he want the baby? Doesn’t seem like it... did the wife pressure him? I’m concerned for the baby
@sushislayer762
@sushislayer762 3 года назад
I know and see what you are saying, but Dr. Daloney’s red flags did not go up. I felt Dr. Daloney made sure the baby wasn’t in any danger. He took this man at his word (especially since he is seeking help/ advice) and not intervene. This wouldn’t make people not want to ask questions and or get actual help in the issues they face if everyone will overreact and not allow people to to find their truth and or place. You can tell this man is just in a heavy fog and maybe Dr. Deloney may not have wanted to put him on the spot and will actually follow up (not when he has millions of people listening in.) Either way, have a blessed day!
