Found myself single for the first time at 30 since the age of 15. Didn't even know how to talk to women. Defaulted to nice guy. Got no where for a year. Got bitter. Started treating women the opposite of what they were telling me they wanted. Arrogant, rude, uninterested, unattainable... suddenly had girls everywhere. Would flaunt them to each other and that would just increase their interest. Openly telling them I'm only interested in sex and nothing more. I did everything "wrong" and it worked... now... the quality of these women? That's another post.

If you want more disturbing proof, watch Night Stalker: The Hunt For a Serial Killer. Women were flashing him right after his arrest. They were showing up in the courtroom to flirt with him. Then they started sending nude photos of themselves to him while he was in prison. They did all this knowing he went into people's houses and murdered people. It is nuts.

But the guy has to be hot/attractive enough for them to like being treated like trash, if an ugly/mediocre looking guy tries to put them down then they will call it "creepy" or "harassment".

Whether this behavior is biologically ingrained or not it’s still unacceptable. Men are biologically trained to react violently to uncomfortable situations but society disapproves. We as a society need to stop coat-tailing to women who act this way. The fact that a women tries to walk over guys is so disrespectful they don’t deserve anyone.

I don't need a scientific study to show me anything. I experienced this in the real world. I went through a period where I treated women very badly and they loved it. I don't mean abuse, but I wasn't very respectful nor did I care much for their feelings. I had multiple girlfriends (who knew about one another and who were competing for my attention) and several more waiting in the wings. The worse I acted, the more they responded positively to my "bad boy" behavior. But I didn't like the person I was and so I became nicer. And then the women lost interest. But I'm better off. The world doesn't need any more bad men than are already in it. I look back on the person I was then and feel nothing but regret. If you're a narcissistic sociopath, the world is yours, and you're welcome to it. The meek shall inherit the earth, what's left of it after the psychopaths are done with it.

So in my efforts of becoming a better man morally, ethically and make a positive contribution to society it's essentially making me less attractive to the modern woman. This world is so ass backwards. Lol

This just happened to me... I was with a bunch of friends, who are betas, and this girl thought I was one of them. I was with my business partner and someone asked "how long have you been parters?" This girl speaks up and says to me "How long have you all been gay?" Everyone looked at her in shock... my partner looked shocked and I was shock. I put that girl in her place so fast and said "Disrespecting me is not cool, Disrespecting my business partner and I in front of everyone shows how ugly you are!" She tried squirming her way out of it but I told her " If you do that to me again, you're not welcomed around here anymore." Everyone at the table was silent... my business partner was laughing. I 100% believe what we are seeing is a direct result of modern upbringing. Millenials are the first generation where the majority of children were raised in daycares instead of at home with a stay at home mother. It is also the first generation that was doped up on Ritalin and anti depressants etc. It was also the first generation where spanking your child became taboo, instead they wanted you to put them in 'timeout'. They also took the power to discipline children away from teachers. When I went to school if a student was misbehaving in class, you'd see a board eraser flying across the room, hitting the kid upside the head, and everyone would laugh. But with the newer generation, if a student misbehaved, they had school 'therapists' that the student would be sent to see what the problem was. They would be the kids that got doped up the most. Yeah that was the better answer than physical discipline, give em drugs and tell them their behavior is not their fault, they just have a mental illness. It was also the time that mass corporatism crept into the scene. That's about when walmart started infesting the landscape. The world changed more in the 80s and 90s than it did in the 60s and 70s. Now we have the world we have today. People so screwed up, they have to make up 'social constructs' to decide how they want to be 'identified'? It's gone from putting others first to putting yourself first. Some people are born narcissists, but modern society has created narcissists en masse.

Back in the day I dated a certified 10...absolutely beautiful woman. I used to tell myself to "not be nice" or "im being too nice today" because she'd be much more affectionate when I was being "mean" to her...makes 0 sense

I knew a “nice guy” who had a lot of female friends who would get used by assholes and then knock on his door to cry on his shoulder at 2am. He was tired of being alone so he decided to be an asshole, too...and, it worked! He now had those girls falling all over him. The problem was...he didn’t like himself that way and wanted to know what to do. He told me all of this after he had gotten uncharacteristically drunk and threw up in some bushes during a party. I basically told him that I didn’t have the answer but, if he could figure it out, he should write a book because he’d sell millions of copies in the first week.

I was raised to show all women respect. That got me nowhere, till a married woman with a bun in the oven got me in bed. Once I thought the kid was mine we lasted 30 years and right when the last kid moved out she was back to drinking with the bums and sleeping around. So that's what being a decent human being got me, and it's still true, the only women who show any interest in me now are looking for a guy to spend money on them.

This makes me feel less guilty about ghosting women who have been emotionally & verbally abusive in the past. Why be nice at all if my niceness is under appreciated.

To be honest with you and I feel like I have been lied to my whole life. Im a middle-aged man raised in a family of all women my father was not in the household and I was raised to think women were to be put on a pedestal. And that never really worked out for me and I had a younger cousin that just didn't care about a woman's feelings and he always had more success with women than I did, and I couldn't figure out why but I knew something wasn't right. And only to find out within the last few years through the internet, especially through TikTok the true nature of women it all makes sense now. But I say this to convey I m not mad at anyone, in particular, you don't hate the player you hate the game, and know I am aware of women's true nature.

I was raised to be polite and well-mannered - overly so. But it only gets you so far with women if the intention is to date/sleep with them. When I look back, I can see ''being nice'' didn't really work for me - but I didn't know any better at the time because being nice was my natural default position. I think I hoped my polite demeanour would allow me to 'stand out'. But it never really did. However, when I overhauled my image at 28 (muscle mass; better hair; better style, etc) I realised I didn't have to rely solely on my ''niceness'' anymore, as my presentation was enough for me to approach and engage with women, and, for the first time, for women to approach me. I also stopped being overly courteous... and what I mean by that is I stopped putting women at ease by smiling or asking about their day. Once I learned to remain aloof -- I don't mean be pig-ignorant -- I realised women began to engage with me like I was holding back a secret and they wanted to know what I was about. Then, all of a sudden, women began to enquire about _my_ day, or compliment me on _my_ style. Their interest peaked as soon as I stopped being polite. So take it from a formerly ignored man when I say the term: ''Treat them mean, keep them keen'' holds water. On a side note, I notice female work colleagues won't respect you if you are a nice/polite man. They will walk all over you - particularly if they are management - as they see you as insignificant and weak. So I suggest you apply your polite nature where it is appropriate. Because 1 thing is for sure, being overly nice has no place in the dating environment or at work when dealing with women. *P.S. I have noticed - within the dating game - women who are older or the same age as me (42) are far more receptible to 'nice' than girls aged 21 - 33. I'm sure you all know why.

I'm glad I'm 41 and no longer slave to my hormones like a teenager, so I can just completely ignore biological needs of having a woman. I went through this myself. All the girls knew about one another, I didn’t hide anything. It’s honestly crazy looking back, I had 3 or 4 girls coming over EVERY night…. And they all knew, as well as new ones every week. I gave up this life and bought a farm. I had a couple of daughters and I built a hobby farm for them. I built my life around my girls. For a woman, it's all about social value. And for them, the more bad you are the more social value you are. She see you as a social value trophy, so if you are a nice guy you don't give her the social value she want to feel, you are not a good trophy. But if you are bad, you give her a feeling of having a big trophy that she can show to the world in order to be socially valorised. That's how it works in their brain. And that's why a woman won't stay with you forever, she will always want to '' win '' another trophy to have this social value. When they say '' i'm bored '' or '' i'm not happy with you anymore '', in reality it's '' i want another trophy guy to feel irresistible, to be socially valorised ''. It's like we are a better version of a good picture of their instagram. You can see they always post new picture of instagram to have this '' dopamine shoot of social value '', it's the same for men's.. they need to renew it all the time. In the end, it's all about her and her social value ( or feminine value ). The last thing i want to say is : we need to be nicer between men. We are to rude between each other and we need to care more about us. We are brothers at the end.

It is all about competition. A man with dark triad personality traits is incredibly more competitive than other men and will therefore always be on top because he never gives up. That's all there is. This is not just competitiveness in sexual encounters but in all aspects of his life : money, social status, looks, ambition etc and to succeed, you need every bit of the dark triad personality traits : narcissism for an inflated ego and be unfazed by others criticism, machiavelism to crush mercilessly other men, and psychopathy to not feel anything in doing so.

I was once told, and I quote, "The only time I really feel loved, is when you're pissed off at me." I knew it was twisted, when I heard it, but my mind made excuses for someone making such a statement. I took the edge off of it, for her, and continued on as though it weren't actually true. I can assure you, you're far better off believing someone when they tell you something like this. They aren't lying. It's a moment of truth, likely as shocking to them, as it would be to you.

To add to the discussion on the Dark Triad personality type: I was forced to remove one of my best friends of 10 years after I came to the conclusion that I was dealing with a psychopath. There were indicators now and then over the years that I didn’t recognise at the time or understand their significance, but in the ten months after my brother’s suicide when I was struggling mentally due not only to the loss of my brother but as a result my employment and soon after financial situation collapsed over the following months. It was then that he ratcheted up some very disturbing psychological games and abuses that made me do a retake of our entire friendship. That’s when I entered the world of discovering all about Cluster-B Personality Disorders. What an eye opener it’s been. The guy had a picture perfect family and never missed a sunday church service. I guess it should come as no surprise that these people exist in the religious world as well. He was beyond doubt a true wolf in sheep’s clothing and an enemy of the Church planted in it’s midst. There’s no way that a genuine brother in Christ does that to another brother in trouble, or even an enemy. Jesus himself said “…love your enemies and do good to those who spitefully use you…”

This dark triad stuff most only works if the guy is already attractive; handsome, tall, confident. The average looking guy with these traits are defined as wierdos, creepers, stalkers, by women.

A 'good boy' evokes security, stability, calm. A 'bad boy' evokes excitement, drama, danger. A tame horse she can control versus a wild stallion. Of course she wants those bad boys when she's young.

I've known this for many years, that's why the phrase "Nice guys finish last" came into existence. Young women in particular LOVE bad boys, bastards and cheaters. The excuse I heard was "Life is interesting, exciting and unpredictable". I've personally seen women be with and stay with drunkards, cheaters, one who verbally and sometimes physically abuse them, with the excuse "But I love him" or thinking they can change him. I had a friend whose neighbour had spent half his adult life in prison yet by 27 had father 5 children by 3 different women. The answer to "Where have all the good men gone" is that women see that as settling or they have waited too long in the hypergamy game

I wonder how much of this may be down to a survival technique. Women who were more compliant and attracted to the dark triad guy were less likely to be killed by him and go on to mate. Those who weren't and resisted might have just ended up dead instead and never went on to have his kids.

A psychopath is just an untamed predator, a hunter, in my opinion. That's what is attractive. It's a primal thing.

I was watching another channel about cold approaching and getting more resilient through numerous rejections, where they think they'll eventually hit "gold", which I made this comment for. "The quality of the women you reap are dictated by what environment you let them select you from." Shortly followed by "I think there's much less demeaning ways of getting a partner where they respect you as an individual" I obviously agree with Alex here, low quality women are not worth pursuing, even if it's just for a hook up.

I've been seeing this preferences in them for the best part of 25 years now. But the fact is, even if you're a nice guy per say, but you have standards and don't let them walk all over you, you are still not going to get much attention from them. You're missing the magic arse hole factor. Although it is indeed sad to see their preferences, self destruct basically, being someone who wants a healthy relationship and simply can't find nor attract a potential partner easily. Seeing the "bad Boy" get aplenty while not even trying can be hard to those considered normal guys. But it is actually for the best in my opinion, that we don't attract those kind of women. This short-term mating strategy would be typical in matriarchies, where men are not really allowed to have power, or even really have any reason to stick around after the dirty deed is done. As our society pivots toward feminism/matriarchy, you will see more of these Dark Triad men gaining the upper hand. That's why patriarchies are ultimately more stable.

How are men still under the impression that women even deserve kindness?

Cannot tell how glad I am to finally see this being talked about. One example: the guy is so into himself, that women pick up on that as "I love a man that puts himself first". Note: Because women are attracted to male narcissists, but not the other way around, lead me to believe this is why it is reported that there are more male narcissists than female narcissists.

I’ve known two guys with body counts in the 1000s. One was a huge guy and a douche(no surprise there) the other wasn’t but played the drums and was a douche. Knowing the kind of women they got never interested me but it did make me wonder how many fatherless kids are out there repeating the process.

The is a rather simple, and easy to see reason for this... Females, especially young females, who do not wish (and I am using their words) 'to be trapped in a life long commitment with the 'wrong' guy' have found a strategy that works to fulfill their needs AND free them from their fear of commitment. What the 'bad boy' provides is a source of drama (drama not only solves her issues with boredom, but also, gives her situations to communicate that will give her points among her female peers) and the necessary ingredients to formulate an out from the commitment when (she hopes) the time is right for her to leave. The 'Nice Guy' can't provide these things. Saddled with a 'Nice Guy' she is forced into attempting to mold his considerateness and kindness into something bad (read; dramatic) for her peers, this rarely works and she knows it, and when she feels it is time to go she has to overcome her feelings of guilt because she knows it is on her initiative, not because of the males indifference/abuse/neglect. What the 'Nice Guy' sees is that she is committing to 'Bad Boys' who will only hurt and leave her... so he feels justified in his position. What she sees is that the 'Bad Boy' is easier to use and dispose of, where as the 'Nice Guy' is to 'demanding of her time and attention' (read; gives less to her status and is difficult to release). Women do not 'realize' they want a 'Nice Guy' as time passes either, they realize that there time is passing. When an older woman says, 'where have all the good guys gone', she is not lamenting the lack of nice guys - she is lamenting her waning desire and/or ability to attract 'Bad Boys' (her definition of a 'good' guy). Because, she simultaneously is realizing that with the loss of the 'Bad Boy' comes a lose of the ability to increase her status through the activities of said 'Bad Boy'. The best part about it, you don't need to go to the effort of scientifically defining these truths, they are evident everywhere if you care to look.

What I find really really interesting is that women, when confronted with the fact they don't like nice guys will deflect and you the old they aren't actually nice guys because they don't like getting screwed about. It's a self fulfilling prophecy isn't it? A nice guy gets treated like dirt and pushes back and then the ladies say he wasn't a nice guy he's bitter because I don't like him. Narcissism is just as frequent among men and women. But it manifests as "overt" and "covert". Men are more often overt and women covert. However, it is the overt manifestation that the DSM clinically describes, and therefore it is covert men that have tended to be diagnosed. Now that this is better understood, the diagnosis ratio has evened out. Note that coverts tend to not care much about what people think whereas coverts care about that a lot and tend to be far more emotionally manipulative.

The actual sad truth is that male competition is fought using violence. The dark triad traits almost become a requirement to compete while using violence. The only thing that made it accepted was purpose (hero) and this many times came from religion.

To supplement Alex's channel I've been listening to a podcast called 'Beat Your Genes'. They address the bad boy phenomenon in the first episode. Another reason women like them is that, if they successfully reproduce with the bad boy, and the offspring is male, he is likely to also be a bad boy, and therefore much more likely to reproduce himself and therefore pass on her genes. What the study in this video shows is that in a society that encourages women to adopt the short-term mating strategy, is it any wonder that they end up drawn to the bad boys, the Dark Triad men. This is what they evolutionarily programmed to do.

My best buddy growing up always had much more success with girls than myself. I don't think he was ever physically abusive, but he never would treat them well. Yet he often would have multiple girls pursuing him at the same time. I never understood that, your analysis is quite enlightening.

I've read a lot about psychopathy and you are born with it no doubt. Psychopaths have smaller amygdalas in general which means they lack normal fear response and don't usually have anxiety at all. Also the parts of the brain that control aggression, emotions and remorse have very little activity. Its fully genetic. On the other hand sociopathy (ASPD) is an environmental thing. If you are abused as a child it can lead to sociopathy for example.

Whenever the subject of what women like in men comes up while talking to my mom, I mention the fact that douchebags don't stop being douchebags to women. Because they get rewarded for it instead of punished. And of course my mom denies this fact, yet she tells me that nearly all of her boyfriends were douchebags. Even the guy she is together with now (relationship of 12 years now) was a douche to her when they met and actually started getting to know each other (only because he didn't recognize her, but of course she didn't care because he was attractive to her). But now he isn't a douche anymore. But it still shows that she is subconsciously attracted to douchebags. I think that it has the same function as women liking being strangled during sex. I think it was like 60-70% of women that said they liked strangling during sex, but I think that many women lied. Anyways, I theorize that it's a coping mechanism and a way to sniff out the men with best status and money. Because, you know, rich people aren't known for being good people exactly.

Although, when I was still dating, I found myself somewhat attracted to confident assholes, I shied away from them because I didn't think I could keep up with them and they intimidated me. I don’t think it’s either of the reasons discussed in the study. I think women gravitate toward darker men because they know instinctively that those men are more likely to protect them and will do whatever it takes (however unethical) to do just that. Being nice is seen as passive and weak

Women on short term mating strategies DEFINITELY go for dark triad. They don't want a guy that cares or will catch feelings. They don't want a man that will feel compelled to stick around, etc. I think what makes dark triad so super attractive long term is that these guys are EXTREMELY charming (spoiler: it's a manipulation skill, and it's even better with lies and a healthy disregard for accuracy and truth)

Its hard to accept but when someone like u actually reflects light on bad behaviour and makes us understand that we are not doing anything wrong being nice and respectful, gives me some relief!
