I know so many guys who continue to cater to their ex's every need. Fixing plumbing problems at no charge. Running to help them when they are stuck alongside the road. One loaned her a free car for a month. And no candy the other way. Absolutely pathetic.

The number of men out there who cannot say straightforward "No" to women are astonishing.

Been with my wife for 24 years, married for 17. I often think back to how we worked because in hind sight, there were several red flags that she had that I overcame. What pops up in mind as most significant was about 2 weeks in, she attempted to give me one of those upside the head slap/taps after I made a goofy joke that was just intentionally bad. We were in public and I stopped and looked her in the eyes and said if you ever put your hands on me again in a way that I don't like, we are done. If can be tomorrow, 4 years, 20 years, I don't care, but we will be done. I like you, and I can see us going far, but I will not tolerate that because if i respond in kind, I'll be in jail. So don't you dare put your hands on me again and I promise I won't put my hands on you. I don't remember her ever challenging one of my boundaries again after that.

A girlfriend of mine dumped me but wanted to stay friends. I was weak, lonely and insecure - plus we were friends before we were dating - so I said yes. While grabbing coffee one day a few months later, she disrespected me. So I (finally listening to good manosphere advice) cut her off for a week. Bad behaviour doesn't get rewarded. She'd text, I'd not even read it. The distance gave me the clarity to realise I didn't like her as much as I thought I did. Even a couple of days of silent treatment drove her crazy. My ex wife, while going thru divorce, got a flat tire on the way to drop the kids off to school on her day. She asked me for help. I went as quickly as I could to help. I live in the UK where telling your child "no" gets Social Services set upon you. I tell my daughter "no" so often I hate it. And I did have to deal with Social Services. They left satisfied I wasn't being "abusive" and I carried on saying "no" whenever I have to. I refuse to let her become an entitled brat. When my first girlfriend decided to no longer be a girlfriend, I was still giving her rides to our university campus. I agreed to keep doing that to the end of the semester, maybe another 2 months, because she had no other way of getting to campus. you are 100% correct Alex, i was the chauffeur on duty to take my now ex-girlfriend to different places (restaurant,movies,concerts) and she was pissed off when i said i was sick (really) and i couldnt go with her to a champagne weekend, but afterwards (a week) everything was good again, when after some time i hinted for something more than just friends, she said i wasnt her type, and didnt wanted to date a military person, i said ok, then i found out that she made a military coleague a friend with benefits, that was the drop on a hot plate, i ended my frienship with her instantly and permanently, women are not to be trusted, period

I let a female friend stay at my place because she needed a place to stay, after some days of her getting to my nerves I just starting setting up boundaries and saying no to the changes she wanted to do to my place. People very rarely change, and it takes a soul shaking event to cause it to happen, and even then there is no guarantee they won't go back to the way they were. Once someone's core programming is set, which happens very early in life, they may mature, but that core is still there. So if someone doesn't like you from the start, they have reasons for that, they may not know why exactly, just that you aren't the one they are looking for. This is even more true, after a relationship ends. Chasing after that person, just because you love them, is really pointless, because they already told you, that you aren't the one for them. Never try to twist yourself into someone else, just to make them happy. 1. It's not a good way to live. 2. You're giving all the power in the relationship to them, and now you are trying to be extra careful of your every move, because you don't want them to leave again. 3. Eventually, you are going to get tired of acting like someone that isn't you, and you're going to switch back, and the relationship that was going to fail anyway, will fail very fast. Being in a good relationship, shouldn't feel like work. It should be both supporting, and caring about the other person. You should be each others world. As long as you both are considerate of each other, and like similar things, then things should go well. You can't let her lead you relationship though, because she will lose respect for you. So develop proper boundaries, and keep them intact. You don't love, what you don't respect. Always remember that!

This is stratight talk. Solid adivce! I know; I had to figure out this shizzit the hard way when I was younger! Helpfully, I had the benefit of a genuine "FRIEND" w/.b.., as it was called back then-i.e. before "hook-up" culture. As a genuine "friend," and being a little older than I was, she gave me a lot of insight as to how women think that I had simply never been told before. Saved me YEARS of trial and error! My sister has raised her first (now 10) by never telling him "No" to not hurt him. I believe that is doing him much more harm than good. Kids look to adults for how to behave and act in society, if kids have no boundaries, they will assume it is right for them do so in all facets of society.

The reason some guys like the first one stick around is in hopes that they can turn the girl's mind around. One because it's very hard to get other girls, and two they are already invested in her. Little do they know that when a girl doesn't like u anymore, it's over - just like if a girl ghosts u, or flakes on u = she doesn't like u anymore, but will string u along for more attention/validation/comfort.

I'm appalled at the number of young women who are not remotely prepared to enter the real world, nor gainful employment to any degree of success. They're miserable at work, make their coworkers miserable as well, and are impossible to satisfy professionally and romantically. Their parents left them far too many lessons to learn in a nearly impossible time frame. Never hearing no, being given the world, being continuously told to never settle without realistic expectations... They're going to be the hardest group to feel bad for because of their actions, and you can only blame their parents for so long. A 40 year old woman who is unhappily single and childless can't have seen everyone else's mistakes and not questioned whether or not she should rethink things or continue to beat that suffragette drum in 2024.

I know plenty of men who after the break up of a relationship or some guys would claim that him and his partner are taking a break or sabbatical, those guys would run to their ex to help out with anything, money for rent, bills, credit card debt, car repair, medical bills and more, and their ex gf don't give anything in return. One of my neighbor, a divorced man, still helps with his ex wife at her new home with painting, cooking, cleaning, pay her bills, laundry, and more. I asked him why? He told me he feels bad for her and he still loves her and cares about her well being. Meanwhile, my neighbor's ex wife has a new boyfriend who is 20 plus years younger than her, she's over 45 years old, her new bf would drive up to my neighbor's house and the ex wife would go in to her ex husband house and collect money from him while her new boyfriend waits outside of the house. I saw the whole thing last summer while I was out in front of my home gardening. My neighbor lives across the street from me. After that scenario, I wasn't sure if I should feel bad for him anymore... It baffles me that he can't see that he is being taken advantage of.

Saying No is a mark of self respect, i totally agree. And you are right low quality women can't handle the word no. But at the same time there is a cost. Women who are frustrated with men which are disagreeable to them. Ive personally found they try reputation destruction and awful accusations of crap when they can't get their own way.

I do know these awful women exists because I’m on the dating app scene and I do sense the trauma so many men have experienced. Men start off telling me their height and asking for approval. The word "No" is usually one of the first words people hear from the time they are infants. Parents need to keep saying "No" and stop calling their daughters "princess". Any childish behavior should be greeted with adult silence after saying "No". Also no more free dinners, movies, etc. Ultimately no resources which should be emphasized whenever this behavior manifests itself. Alexander is correct about these men. If they stay with women like these they deserve everything they will get from them. Respect is paramount to any relationship, personal or professional. No exceptions.

For those having trouble saying no to women, start by saying no to spam calls, do not let them go to voicemail, answer and firmly say no then hang up, you will get a small ego boost. When you do not get that ego boost, let them go to voicemail haha.

I remember being a young man dating the woman who I would eventually marry. She was interested in moving in together however when my roommate moved out I had already promised a different friend (male) that they could move in. She was really angry, but I said to her I'm not someone who backs out on his promises and I have given them my word. "Do you really want to date a man whose word isn't worth anything?" After we were married my mother passed away. Our children were very young, 3 years old and 1-year-old. She didn't want them to go to the funeral thinking it would upset them. I put my foot down and said this is their grandmother and they deserve to be there. If you don't want to come that's fine, but I'm going and they're going. I remember this part quite clearly, 22 years later, "we will go back to doing everything your F'in way tomorrow but today our daughters are going to have the chance to say goodbye to their grandmother, something I never got to do." I packed them up some dresses that they could wear and packed up my suit and got ready for the 3-hour car drive back to my mother's house, because of course we moved to live close to her family. Before I drove away I asked her if she planned to come or not. She selected a dress for herself and some things she thought fit our daughters better and joined us for the 3-hour drive. After it was all said and done she agreed that bringing the girls to not only say goodbye to their grandmother but to see the rest of my family was a good thing. The girls brought a bit of sunshine to a very cloudy, sad day. I think the problem is as a man you are always taught to sacrifice yourself, and your happiness for the sake of your family. I have done some jobs that I really hated as I looked for something different to keep a roof over my family's head. Hell, I even went to Afghanistan to be a civilian contractor during Operation Athena, facing crazy heat and rocket attacks, and sent almost every dollar home. It's how a man shows his love for his family, although that's being taken away from and undervalued by the people who tell us how swell we've got it and how we've always oppressed them. They don't have a clue about what really motivates us. How could they? At their core they are selfish, with no concern for why we do and act the way they do. They think we are only concerned about ourselves, like they are. I'm afraid the concept of self-sacrifice is both foreign and lost on Modern women who have only ever been takers and never givers.

Men, you are BETTER than woman in every way that takes action. A strong woman has perseverance, an ability to perform through fear and unknowns without missing a beat. But a strong man LEADS. She is not better than you when it comes to taking action. She needs to be on YOUR frame, YOUR leadership YOUR timeline, YOUR vision, and she should be grateful to be there, because you're taking action on her needs. The biggest block is the fear of divorce and what that can bring. Women like men with options. If a wife knows that her husband's only other option is divorce and he's willing to choose it over her hopefully that will make her take him seriously
