+Bastian Cassel Technically.... Aoba really *is* the first IJN cruiser to get 203mm guns, provided stock. Furutaka uses 203mm guns yes, but this is an upgrade rather than stock.

it's quite possible that this was recorded _before_ the Furutaka came into the game, considering that the ship names aren't capitalized and the AA consumable is unlimited.

This is the luckiest Aoba I have ever seen. So many situations line up for him, from airplanes all appearing near him while his AA boost is active, to people having super low HP, and getting an insane amount of citadel hits.

Ah, the Aoba. I loved this ship. Back in the Closed Beta, my last game before I got the Myoko, I had a tier 7 game where I dodged 80+ torpedoes from carriers and destroyers. I went on to sink the carriers and a destroyers :D

Jingles, I don't think that the aoba was firing HE when he citadelled the Murmansk at the start... The 0.5.3 patch made it so that a ship remembers what your last ammo load out was. Chances are his was AP. However, the replay client has not been updated to account for this change, so everyone still starts with HE according to the replays.

I've been in that situation in my Aoba starting 3:20 - with the only exception being far better torpedo salvos and the never-ending incoming fire from battleships and cruisers.

Aoba is a great upgrade from the furutaka as its gun placements are more sensible and can use 2/3 of its firepower when facing forwards.

You can tell this is an older replay, because on that mode now, as soon as they capped his team's base, they would have lost immediately.

+Roondar Murnig The two cap version is now referred to as standard mode, but the points still add up as ships are sunk as in domination mode, but if either cap is taken by the opposing team, 1000 points are added to the score, triggering a victory for that team.

He is not spamming HE and Citadell with it...it is just a replay bug caused by the "you start with the ammonition you had shot last game", so dont expect to Cita with HE guys ;)

+Garry Gamed Actually I think this replay is quite old, since he gets no Kraken Unleashed. So the patch which introduced "you start with the ammo you had last game" was not in place yet ;) But its a replay bug anyway...

The HE spam at the start could be the new feature of the game remembering your last selected ammunition, but the replays sets it as HE as default.

Actuallly Jingles, he isn't firing HE. With the last patch, the starting ammo defaults to the last one you used, rather than HE like it used to. The replay system hasn't been told about that, however, so it continues to assume HE until he actually does switch. Edit: scratch that. This game is from before they opened the gap in the island. Guess it's some other old bug then...

Actually he's firing ap in the beginning. There is a current bug with the replay system and the new WoWs patch. At the start of a battle the game selects the type of ammo you used last in that ship. The replay system doesn't notice and it thinks that he's firing he and not ap. Just wanted to point that out. Keep up the good work on this channel!

Hey Jingles! Just so you know, there a know replay bug as far as the shell type display at the start of the game, check it out. Chance are that he was actually shooting ap at the start of the game. Good day to you good sir

I often preloaded HE on battle start, because you often see enemy destroyers spotted as first thing in range and your destroyers will need support fire asap. Its like killing light tanks early in game to get vision advantage. In wot, it can be major advantage, in wows its big advantage too, because its not easy spot sneaky destroyer without another sneaky destroyer. Aoba is good ship. I had plenty of good games with Aoba. People underestimate Aoba often, as they think its bad ship, but i've given many lessons about "How can be Aoba good, if you do not suck".

I love the torps on Aoba (10 km range), but the guns recycle to slowly. The fighter is a big help against air attack.

I find the Kongo (and of course her Arpeggio counterpart) to be very good at dodging torpedos. 30 knots and handles like a slightly overweight Furutaka. There's a reason the 4 of the class were the most active IJN capital ships in the war.

Hey Jingles There is this new game on Steam called Atlantic Fleet its a tactical fleet game you take direct control over war ships taking part in the Battle of the Atlantic either as the Brits or the Germans its got a pretty dated graphics engine but the damage models are absolutely amazing and you can try your hand at all the famous battles and I even managed to lob a shot straight into the Hoods Ammo storage and blow it up with that one hit Just like the Bismark did irl For any Arm chair Admiral its so much fucking fun!

Jingles, at the beggining of the videos he isn't firing HE ! He's firing AP ! A bug on the replay (that happens quite often) makes it look like HE but it isn't, just look at the shells. They are too small and fast to be HE. Also he switched ammo types when firing at that Minekaze.

Sometimes whenever I eat M&Ms, I like To hold two M&Ms in between my fingers and squeeze as hard as I can until one M&M cracks, I eat the cracked one, and the that didn't crack becomes the champion. Then I grab another M&M and force it to compete with the champion in this deadly game of M&M gladiators. I do this until I run out of M&Ms and when there is only one M&M left standing, I send a letter to M&Ms brand with the champion M&M in it with a note attached that reads: "please use this M&M for breeding purposes."

Jeez Jingles... The Furutaka has 203mm guns and he was not firing HE at that Murmansk, that was a replay glitch, unless somehow high explosive is penetrating almost 80mm of armor. You can also check for the shell color difference.

Jingles i think that citadel at the beginning with HE is actually AP. There is a replay bug that causes the system to not recognize the last ammo loaded from the previous match. That was a part of 5.3.

+Kevin Phillips Yeah it's a replay bug. Jingles doesn't really notice these things either. I could tell they were AP when he fired, but Jingles didn't notice the texture difference. I don't think he really can, unless it says the player is with the icon highlight :P

Furutaka can upgrade to 203mm from 200mm, so yes.

Just as a FYI, with the recent UI changes where the game saves your last shell type loaded from the previous game has caused glitches in replays, where it won't always show the correct ammo the person is using. Until they switch ammo once or twice in game before the replay fixes it's self. So he could have had AP loaded at the start or might not, just letting you know about the new bug in the replay system.
