"Im going after wolverine and gambit, Im not leaving anyone behind....Not this time", That is the heart kids used to watch in cartoons. amazingly good.
Right?! The cartoons when we were kids were not only entertaining but we learned good things. Still my favorite animated series after Batman and just barely above spiderman. All amazing
And the comic version had the Avengers (all of them) and Fantastic Four (died protecting Franklin) as victims of Sentinels attack. Seriously, I would love to see Senator Kelly apologizing the Avengers for insults over having two mutant members.
Xehanort10 lol reminds me of when they said blacks were not human, it was only logical for the system and programming of society. so called mutants/outcasts and others with a superiority complex kind of reminds me of reality. anywho Cyclops is my favourite character but Xavier is most superior.
+Xehanort10 More so in the Marvel Ultimate Comics Universe. The crap they did to mutants made me so mad, even if they were fictional, I just wanted to scream.
@@kangaroomonkey4180 Na, First Class doesn't have Wolverine jumping around in the dark cutting down Sentinals. That scene is still badass to this day, the show did a great job at character development and the showcasing of their mutant powers.
"That is not logical, Mutants ARE Humans" BOOM! that's one of my favorite moments. It's the most obvious and logical conclusion, and such a slap in the face of all the Anti Mutant groups out there. When the most purest form of their hatred manifested into a weapon, that weapon declares them (Mutants/Humans) the same.
I mean that was true in the 90s when they still were doing the whole thing where mutants and inhumans were thought to be just humans with powers, but since then it's become very clear that they're actually different species. Anyone nowadays trying to claim that mutants are humans (in the marvel universe) would be laughed out of Krakoa
If only people applied that part of Mastermolds logic to society a lot of injustice to minorities probably could've been avoided.....see cartoons can be educational.
Wolverine was willing to risk his life to save Gambit. Magneto was willing to risk his life and go into battle despite his differences with Professor X. The X-Men weren't just comrades in battle, but a family.
Wilson Fisk It makes sense that Magneto would do that. They were friends at one time, and Magneto still respects that friendship that they shared. They even have the same end goal, but different means to go about it.
dfasmilll u know i still cant stand Cyclops to this day but he had 2 standout moments in THE ENTIRE SERIES all in season 1 (i've watched EVERY EPISODE of TAS) in NIGHT OF THE SENTINELS, Cyclops put his life on the line for the team as he ALONE took out countless Sentinels when Wolverine was unconscious. Storm had to save Cyclops. 2nd is THE FINAL DECISION when he went back for Gambit n Wolverine like a boss and Jean kissed him as though she'd never see him again. awesome moments but he's still apunk tho lol
Wilson Fisk Part of the drawbacks this series needed to break through was the fact that this was actually following arcs and continuous stories instead of the typical episodic format. This was kind of new for a tv cartoon. There were some character arcs besides Xavier and wolverine that were briefly shown, but not completely wrapped up (e.g.: Gambit eventually becomes friendlier and less cynical, but it's never really shown *how*). Wolverine becomes friends with Gambit after this, and much later gets over Jean and becomes closer to Cyclops (as seen on the last episode). Stuff like this was later managed better in Evolution onwards.
"You were designed to protect humans from mutants!" "That is not logical. Mutants are humans." Bruh...why is that line so much deeper now that I'm grown?!
Yea those were the two power houses of the x men. Cyclops was a heavy hitter too. Wolverine always got his ass beat but randomly whenever the other x men got captured he would always free them save the day. What I loved about the x men is by themselves their just a mutant with I ly one power but with their team every separate single power makes them basically superman. I always found superman lame cause he was too powerful
"I do not have to destroy, because I do not fear." This line right here has so much depth behind it. It reminds of the saying '"Mercy and compassion are virtues that only the strong are privileged to possess", which comes from the fact that the weak, in fear of their lives and livelihoods, must commit cruel acts against their enemies out of necessity, whereas a strong man can show mercy to those who oppose him because of his strength, and the confidence and bravery that is derived from being strong.
I loved how Magneto showed up to help. This made me realize how he wasn't all bad. Now every time I see an X-Men movie or cartoon I'm on the lookout for his eventual face-turn.
Congrats on realizing that x-men isn't some shallow black and white moral plot... It' all completely grey...True evil is rare in this and the real world.
Storm, Jean Gray, and Professor X are powerful but weak physically. Psyclops is a pretty good balance. Wolverine is strong physically, but is not powerful. Together, they all make it work.
Wolverine went straight beast mode in that cave!! I love how it was dark in there and when the sentinels shot there optic blast at Wolverine, u could see his ass running circles around them cutting them in half. #savage one of my favorite eposides hands down....
cowboysnation1995 how are the cowboys these days man?? haven't been tge same since lettin Dez go. i hope Amari Cooper works out for yall cuz he really cant catch
@@leonardobraynen1524 And did you see the robots start to panic! Once he dropped two of them, the third was like "fuck!" And started rapid firing, when all the others have only ever single shotted at a controlled rate.
Did anyone else notice how, normally, the sentinels only fired single shots at a pretty controlled rate, but once they were trapped in a cave with wolverine, they started firing faster and faster. It's like the cold precise robot brain just went "oh shit!!!" For a minute there.
They realised that he wasn't trapped there with them... They were trapped there with him, a mutant that they can't kill with claws that they can't resist
@:44 it proves Gambit really cares about Wolverine despite their ongoing fueds...i mean just look @ that LOOK of concern from Gambit; never seen that look since..
Man the way gambit threw them 3cards, straight headshot…u can tell the X-men weren’t playing ..he still had time to tell jokes too ..I loved wolverine and gambit’s relationship on the show …rivalry but a respect and brotherhood
So awesome when Logan tricks Remy into leaving cuz he knows that he will survive w the healing factor. He is broken over Morph dying still and he was struggling with the threat of his other close friend on the teams possible same fate
_he knows that he will survive w the healing factor_ No, he really doesn't. This isn't the Wolverine of today with a super-charged healing factor. Remember that earlier in the season, Sabretooth almost killed him with a deep-cutting rake of his claws.
Wolverine's fight at 0:40 is the greatest action scene in cartoon history. What a badass. Something similar should have made it into a Hugh Jackman movie!
AVora23 yes, sadly i was hoping he would be the one to tear the sentinels apart in DOFP after everyone and i mean EVERYONE else struggled and got plain murderrd by em! How could they adapt to adamantium? But @ least we'll always have this scene😇
Hahahaha those probably-steel doors looked to be about 8 inches thick and yet....one small slide lock that you'd put on a cupboard. This show was so epic but there were some hilarious moments
Also there's an error at 0:34 , wolverine is supposed to LOCK THE DOOR FIRST, then gambit bangs. If gambit bangs it would open the door, it wasn't locked until AFTER the bangs. And Gambit is a pretty strong guy.
Well, if you study physics, you'd learn that this little "slide lock that you put on a cupboard" can create a lot of hardship for opening those doors. And that with good, well-oiled, hinges those 8-inch thick doors swing surprisingly smoothly after a little initial force application. In particular if you push from the end (leverage/momentum).
@@leonardobraynen1524 Yeah, but he died in the comics doing the same thing. Unfortunately, the damage had been done. Sentinels were made again and again, improvements and upgrades provided all the while. As a result, Bolivar Trask is said to have the single highest mutant kill count on Earth.
This is what happens when humanity takes racism too far. They think they’re protecting mankind from monsters, until they realize that the real monster is hatred in the human heart.
@@lightheart5 Not even superpowers, just people who are different. Different race, different religion, different orientations. Blacks were portrayed as brutal savages that you needed to protect your wives and kids from (Physically Powerful mutant analogy), people of other religions wer brainwashing manipulators (Mentally Powerful mutant analogy), gays, lesbians, etc as insidous spies and saboteurs blending into normal society to bring it down from within (Shapeshifter mutant analogy). The point was that by letting your fear and hate control you, you give away control to be able to hurt an outgroup. But the means to attack that outgroup can and will be used on your group as well. If it becomes legal to attack a group because society 'thinks' they are dangerous, then all society needs to do is 'think' your group is dangerous, and the groundwork to subject you to the same violence comes quickly because you alreafy hrlped lay the groundwork against the previous group of victims.
Proof of why Wolverine is a badass can be found starting at 0:25. For someone who has non-projectile mutant abilities, Wolverine has always proven himself to be a true warrior especially when he fights groups on his own.
miamimagicians thats a tie tho with bats CRAZY intelligence and Logans berserker rage coupled with hundreds of years of combat experience. if they teamed up, they would RULE the world and slaughter EVERYONE! I wonder how nobody ever thought up a Bruce/Logan teamup??? hmm...lol
Wolverine I don't believe it ever phot with Bruce Wayne Batman. But wolverine fuck Batman an album comics and even combine to become it's called dark claw
i'll forever love this scene til the day i DIE! the word bad@$$ was invented after this scene especially from Logan n Gambit. they didnt always get along, but they had each others' back in life or death moments like this.
Those sentinels had mutant DNA spliced into them, namely Mystique's which allowed them to adapt to whatever combat challenges they faced, which had mixed amounts of logic behind it considering that Mystique's powers had never actually allowed her to do stuff like that, morph would have made more sense to be used there but alas, plot holes... In any case humanity ended up being neatly screwed over in that dark future too so they got what they deserved for trying to condemn people for being different.
Love, love, love LOVE when WOLVERINE'S claws unsheath! i get so hyped, am i the only one? plus from 0:24 onwards, Wolverine goes straight Superman/Neo boss mode bruh!
The most comic accurate depiction of the X-Men ever put on celluloid. Apart from *"Days Of Future Past"* (the best X-Men film) these are way better than the other films.
I mean definitely true of the time, but looking at it from the information we have about mutants nowadays, claims like "mutants are humans" are just factually incorrect, mutants are just a different species
@@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 I think that was Fox trying to ruin the brand before it got swallowed by the Disney machine. Remember the Inhumans debacle?
don't you mean LATER in the comics? they were never together prior; although, wasn't Rogue evil @ one point with mystique and Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants early on?
Back in the 90's they were briefly a thing when Rogue landed in the Savage lands and he gave her a giftt of touch for a while. Also they were married in Age of Apocalypse.
A simple save is a nod to that??? Talk about desperate... and the two never had a "thing" in the Savage lands, Claremont himself said that the last thing he was going for was romance, not enough time passed for that and mag nearly forced himself on her and only stopped when someone came into the room. AoA was mag marring a child...
Yeah in the first episode, the lone sentinel that went after Jubilee kept tanking hits until it eventually got destroyed by Cyclops. My guess is that since there are thousands of them and that they usually fight in groups, the writers made them more fragile.
K, dont forget he really went berserk in Season 3 1st episode when he fought Yuriko & the Reavers. Logan was cutting off arms and really goin full ninja on those psychos!!!
@@TravonJamelGreen epic fight scene!!! Wolverine lets loose against the Sentinels and then gets blasted as Gambit threw a kinetic card at the door and it blew open! WOLVERINE: I’m not finished yet!
It's just like Master Yoda said to Anikin Skywalker. Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. Trask gave into his fear of mutants, which filled him with anger which lead him to his hatred, which lead to the creation of the Sentinels, and they are going to make everyone suffer.
3:08 So awesome how that skunk haired Mississippi southern belle Rogue can take getting crushed between two mine carts by sentinels and be perfectly alright! I so love Rogue!
AJ Miller I know I love her uniform in this show she looks so cute, beautiful & awesome in it & my favorite part of her uniform is the brown leather jacket I even bought a replica of it & wearing it right now!
When I was a kid I thought Wolverine really just wanted all the fun for himself, but now that I'm grown up Wolverine really wanted to save Gambit's life. He even has a bright colored suit so to draw attention to himself so all the X-Men are safe.
Not quite. Ultron wanted the extinction of all organic life. The Sentinels seek to protect humans at the cost of their liberties...to say nothing of what they do with mutants.
@@22espec Clue me in. They doing a reboot? Will it be a cheesy kids one or for adults? I'm old now so I'm not going to watch a toddler cartoon. If it's a Manga then I'll be interested.
@@paulstone3590 No, they are making the sequel, X-men 90 i thin i's called, the first episode would be a direct sequel of the finale. It has been announced since last year
@@22espec X-Men 97. Will be showing on Disney in 2023. The original cast will be back together again. What I just read. Should be interesting. I hope they give them creative freedom so the writers can create their vision. This shouldn't cost too much money so they should. Maybe next will be a revival of the Exo Squad. One of the best cartoons ever made. The 90s was the peak of this genre I believe. But currently amine on Netflix has been very good too
ppl can hate on Logan all they want about being overated blah bkah; but in this scene, he was a champ an absolute freakin MONSTER & WORLD BOSS as he charged @ hundreds of sentinels slicin n dicin his way thru that army all to save his friends. he could take it!
Master-Mold & Hardac, from the Batman animated series, reach levels of HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey. It goes to show how animated shows from the 90s weren't afraid to go to mature levels of storytelling.
