Yes sir thank you for sharing your video and your knowledge. I need to clean my carburator a.s.a.p. or buy a new one. I didn't tought it was possible to clean it that way. I thank you again !
Thank you!!! This post gave me the courage to clean my first carburetor. All went well with the exception of the gasket expanding and not be able to fit back in. Searched elsewhere and someone recommended boiling the gasket. I did so and voila, it fit perfectly!!! Love it when something turns out right.
Great video..quick and simple. Mine is hard to start when it’s cold. Was thinking it might be the auto choke.. I ordered a new carb and will rebuild the old one for a spare.. it’s been jetted so keeping it that way may be nice when I want it for more speed. It’s tearing everything apart to get to the carb that will be the problem. Thanks for posting
My Zuma would cut out as soon as I would turn the throttle. Instead of taking the carb apart, this is what fixed mine: The air screw comes from the factory 1 1/2-2 turns out. Usually this is ok, however if you have been experiencing "coughing", "starving for gas" turning throttle and bike gasps then catches on.......then......adjust air screw all the way in and then back out 3/4 to 1 turn. This is the sollution to that problem, not changing main jet.
Thanks for showing us how to do this.. My 2009 8900 mile Zuma is bogging down after its been sitting for a few weeks.. And then when I get it started, I'll let it warm up for a minute or so - and when I try to take off it just boggs down. After it warms up really good it seems to run better. It has never had the carb cleaned. I may try to clean the carb and see if that helps.. thanks again..
Help!! After the dealer put in a new piston on my 07 it started great for 2 weeks but I’m back to long cranks before it starts. Changed the plug and I use marine gas. Even when I go to the store and come out right away it cranks for awhile. Coming to a stop sign I have to throttle a little while braking or it may stop. I believe when they had it they cleaned the carb. Any ideas????
I’m having the problem of bogging down when trying to accelerate. My question is could the air fuel mixture screw be covered by a metal cap? I can’t find the screw but there is a flat metal piece where it should be
bam6972 Thank You for the help. I’ve cleaned the jets / removed the float and nothing has changed. It’s like a tiny freeze plug covering the screw I need to turn.
The screw was under the little metal cover. I used a pick to scratch it out of the hole. I did some adjustments and it ran good for a few minutes then started bogging down again.
Martin Thauvette carburetor cleaner. buy it at any parts store for about 3-5 bucks. I also like to use a air compressor to blow through the tiny holes to clear them out.
I have a 2003 Zuma 2 cycle and I'm having problems with the carburetor when I give it full throttle I don't know if it's getting too much gas or not enough it wants to bog down any ideas?
clean the carb and blow out the tiny holes with a air compressor and change the fuel filter if it has one. also change the spark plug and gap it at .25
anything thats cheap. ive been using 1st ayd carb cleaner from work and i think its the best out there. buying in bulk on skids is like 1.99 a can. pretty good stuff. so harsh it melts rubber
@@bam6972 Just to double check.. The carb cleaner that you're using is "1st ayd" carb carb cleaner?? I can't seem to find that on Amazon.. On Amazon I do see .. "Sea foam" and "Gum out" and "Gunk chlorinated Carb parts cleaner".. Which of these do you like? thanks so much...
