One of my faves. Short enough to do everyday, long enough to have an impact [WARMUP: Puppy, Balancing Cat, Pelvic Tilt, Shoulder Rolls, SPINE: Locust, Crocodile, (windshield wipers), Bridge, (hip circles, figure 4, kick out) RELAX: Dying Bug, Savasana, Neck Rolls)]

Thank you Susannah I often do these poses but will add the dynamic actions and the pressing down in bridge. I like having a 15 minute practice.

I was afraid to do locust pose but this sequence was so short I thought I’d try it. I can do it but I’m not moving off the floor more than 6 or 8 inches. The counter poses also help. This has helped me feel like my spine can get stronger! I’m doing this every day. Thank you Susannah ⭐️

Hi Suzannah. You got me. Just finished moving my studio (bookcases, flat files and all their contents) to Maine with the help of my daughter Chloe. I REALLY needed some spine stretching and this did the trick. Might even be something I can add to a daily routine.Thank you. I am very thankful for yoga and you.

@@ForeverYogawithSusannah Hi again. I have done this spine strengthening yoga several times cause it just feels that good. I have a question for you though. I recently learned about the "Asian Squat" and how good it is for digestion, posture etc. I'm sure you know whether this is an exercise for those of us with osteoporosis or osteopenia. I'd like to do it but not if it puts stress on, or compresses the spine. Thanks Susannah.

@@lesliepaisley5743 Hi! (I happen to be in NYC with Bec while reading this!) Know that I am not a physical therapist however I can confidently say the Asian Squat should not compress the spine. It's challenging for knees and requires ankle flexibility!! it's a great thing to practice, especially as we age. Are you able to do it?

@@ForeverYogawithSusannah Yes, I find it feels good and am comfortable in that position (and learned it is great for digestion and more) but suddenly worried that it might be putting pressure on my spine in a bad way. I am trying to stay in that position for longer periods but can do a few minutes at a time. My knees are starting to "talk" to me these last couple of years so I am trying to be careful of them. Thanks for your input. Be well

Thank you again Susannah for another wonderful session. I have lately developed pain over my right hip joint. It feels like muscle pain rather than pain on the bones. It’s painful for me to bend forward to put on my pants and sock on my right. So I’ve focused on hip pain exercises as well as lower back exercises. I continue to follow you. Please don’t stop. Also if you have some advice for me, I’d so appreciate it. Have a wonderful day!

I just can't do the locust pose, let alone lift the legs at the same time. I am very tall - maybe too much of a frame to lift. i have also been told I have a very slight scoliosis, wondering if the movement is therefore more difficult. My gut feeling tells me I should not do these movements, but how do I strengthen my back otherwise. I manage half decent knee pushups and do some back stretching with elastic bands. I would very much welcome other suggestions. Thank you Susannah!

Absolutely! These are excellent exercises for osteopenia! To "work" you must commit to doing them at least 3- 4 times per week.

enjoyed this but my lower back is my problem. I hear it make a "crunching noise as exercise as i have Osteoporosis now instead of Ostepenia. Our Gym closed over a year ago and i need some form of exercise to strenghten my bone so i dont have to start taking medication. thanks
