Now imagine if Karl Malone (who averaged 27.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 55% FG in 1996) )left the Jazz that year and joined that Bulls team. Malone would have retired with at least 2-3 championship rings, because NOBODY would have been able to beat that team for at least the next 3 years. It's cheap and it's tacky - but it;s also smart. Guys like Ewing, Barkley and Malone would all be held on much higher tiers right now if they had done something similarly tacky and skimmed their way to 2 or 3 easy rings early in their career. 20 years from now nobody will care how they got those rings, they will just count the number as the measuring stick of success.
