Man I liked the first one and was calling for a part 2 and it didn't disappoint. Being from BR I could watch a whole series on this. You actually do very well on these for not being from there. I've seen local videos that don't do a good a job as you do. Keep em coming. I'd watch every one in the series. Also, I was working in BR in 2005 and you're exactly right. Things changed drastically, everyone was on high alert.
Agreed! I've lived in north BR off Lemonwood and Hollywood my entire life and haven't ever seen anything this produced and in-depth about my neighborhood before.
@@GG-jn9fx I think the reality of the situation is "by taking over" they real deal just mean fighting amongst natives. Not particularly taking over terfs and making ppl their "heauxs". Just turning up im guessing.
I was born and raised in Baton Rouge 33 years and fact that he is discribing my city as this dirt poor slum is heartbreaking. We have so many nice middle class areas but people tend to look at South Baton Rouge and Scotlandville as representation of the whole city. The murder rate is rising due to this new wave of BR rappers and the youths trying to be like them. But this is from a white guy telling street stories so I can't be mad.
FACTS…I thought the same! I’m 48 born across the track. I’m a SouthSide Baby 4LIFE. But hearing someone that knew nothing especially wasn’t there ANGERS the hell out of me because they do a video for likes for hearsay and not actually knowledge nor is some factual.
Some of them made all the way up here to Boston, they didn’t really have numbers though so they wasn’t taking over anything. I met a New Orleans dude one time and he was cool as hell, I asked him how much pussy his accent got him. He was like “boy you ain’t lying!!! The first month I got here I already had a spot to stay in!” Talking about the light skinned girls we got here lol. I told him I’m Cape Verdean and he said he was trying to bring one of them CV girls back to New Orleans when it got better. If y’all don’t know what’s CV is, it’s a small island off the coast of Africa. We look Dominican/Puerto Rican, we come in every shade you can think of. I asked him if Louisiana really that bad like they say it is. He said “it’s worst, most of the shit that happens doesn’t even make the news but if you’re from there you know the shit that goes on. It’s like a 3rd world country, poverty, guns, drugs and corruption.”
hey just in case u ever wanted to come to good ole Br heres some tips for when ur around here 1.) Dont come here 2.) nah fr dont come here 3.) nah deadass dont come here. everyone wants to gtfo here dawg and if that doesnt say something then idk what will
You do a great job with these videos. I wasn’t in Baton Rouge for Katrina but Baton Rouge has been nuts since the 90s and there has always been a beef with south side and valley park
Police only stuff in Louisiana if they are called other that street politics are enforced. If you said she about another person which is disrespectful 9x out 10 you'll be on a shirt, socks, hat, poster, etc.... Louisiana doesn't have gangs honestly. I live here daily all the ppl who are killed only matters to family or close friends. The ppl in Louisiana hear about a murder go to work, home or go about their daily routine. It's alot of great happens in Louisiana besides death on the normal regular days.
That was a Great ending I really loved how you said that if they could just learn to basically fix there issues before they get to deep and love each other instead of hating each other they could all be millionaires and get along and enjoy life. But the crazy thing is there stories almost Is apart of there success so the question is Would they be as successful without the real life story line.???
I moved from New Orleans to Baton Rouge in 2002, I was 12 years old. I can tell you at one time Baton Rouge was totally different than it is today. It was Jigga City in that day, everybody was into ecstasy, clubs, and having the time of their lives.
Jigga City era music was way better than the current imo. But I'm old. It was very similar to the Thizz stuff in the Bay Area with Mac Dre and all that around the same time, just with a Louisiana twist. An old Boosie or Foxx with Mac Dre song would have been legendary.
The fact that the murder rate has been higher in Louisiana than in other U.S. state over the last 32 years in a row is an indication that this story hardly scratches the surface regarding the extent of tit-for-tat killings which have long plagued all corners of this state.
Yea being from there literally everybody has a temper everybody is in competition with each other and everybody has to prove that they’re the hardest and have the most money
Facts, niga I live in slidell , North side of the lake. N.o is the south side and shit can get real in a heartbeat, and of u kill somebody family yours is gonna die that's just how it is, the problem is the 1st kill not the retaliation imo, people too emotional down here
@@jhsrt985 100% right I Lived in BR and Laffy my whole life and it's deadly across the whole state. Like u said, once the first body drops, life happens, Niggas gonna retaliate.
@@KongoZo real, niga just need to go back to fighting that would save thousands of lives, nigas would b fkd up but at least still living n bystanders won't b getn hit n shit
Man I'm glad I found this channel. As someone who grew up in gardere for most of my life I know how it goes down in da hood but in a strange way I wouldn't change it for nothing. #lanebaby
My family was living in the US during and after Katrina, my sister was living in Memphis. Her and her fiancé would travel through the south a lot and she said that Baton Rouge was one of the scariest places she’s ever seen, she said it looked like the scene of a horror. She also told me way back then that the south got real dangerous (more dangerous than it already was) after Katrina because of the people migrating from N.O.
Yea it was I’m from Shreveport we had shootings daily in the city even in the schools there was multiple fights, stabbings and shootings in the schools shit was wild af everybody that was about that life thought they could get away with murder like they did in NO because down there if u didn’t have evidence within 60 days you got away with murder and they all started killing folks but wasn’t getting out so shit was bad
Man I knew that all them had beef but it’s sad that they all helped each other out at the beginning when everyone was at their lowest. “Come on bro, you can stay wit us.” Shit deep. All this started from that first murder. The cycle
You did a great job again. I would like you to do a part 2 and you could dig a little deeper with the Boosie Vs Nussie beef because you’d then have to talk about the (secret beef) Boosie Vs Kevin Gates beef which would bring you waaaaayyyy more stories…. Nussie and Kevin Gates was click tight… You got the Mista Cain stories… my close friend got killed in that situation… Click Tight Stories… Also you could be speaking on the current NBA beef w/ RIP Bleeda & Kommas… You did a great 👍🏾 job though. From a true local I appreciate it again👏🏾
Louisiana has it bad when it comes to Hurricanes man. My city Lake Charles is still recovering from two back to back hurricanes in 2020 & we had a hurricane the same year Katrina hit which was called Rita.
I remember the Katrina stuff and it's sad how people be beefing on stuff that ain't even worth getting in Trouble about but when you living in things on this world that where the nonsense drama come at and just come together and enjoy the music together and have fun with one another
I’d really like to tell these young men what they’ve actually accomplished coming from where they come from to where they’re at....in the game of life in Murica y’all won. The guys you’re beefing with aren’t really the enemy ....the real enemy is the 1 who made you believe that the guy who talks like you, dresses like you, likes the same clothes, girls & music, etc is your enemy...that’s simply not true but ego & pride has their judgement so clouded they can’t see it....you young cats keep bringing the smoke cuz that’s EXACTLY what they want you to do 😞
@@everythingbashink293 y'all were definitely scared, but Houston stronger in numbers. 5 million ppl in Houston metro area and about 100k ppl from New Orleans in Houston. Out of that 100k most were good ppl. It's simple mathematics 🤦🏾♂️
Great work my man, don’t stop doing your videos I been loving it💯 You should do a video if you can on any of the old Chiraq G Herbo/Lil Herb days when him and Lil Bibby were popping. Crazy because Lil Bibby is actually extremely intelligent and made himself something more than rap. Whereas Lil Herb turned into G Herbo and is blown the fuck up. Both great intertwining success stories out of the gutter. Cover G Herbo lots because I’m interested and want to see more on him since he’s so good these days. He gets put in the shadow almost these days because Durk is so awesome too.
It's crazy to think that Lit yoshi has been wanting to kill Boosie but now he is potentially facing 20 years in prison while Boosie chilling with his family living rent free in Lit yoshi head.
I’m from BR bro and you ain’t lying , they tried to bully us too that shit ain’t work tho. They did boost the murder rate tho , back in 2005 In BR we was still fighting a lot. That changed over the next 5 years it ain’t no fighting no more.
You forgot the murders of BBG Iraq, BBG Pig, T Baby, Doody Black, Dutch, BBG Twin, Larry. Also at they end you showed bleeda n vultures (YKWIHF), if you find their old igs there’s pics of them all together they were all friends. You also can’t leave 300/OTG and 60 Gang (TBG youngins from Dixie) out of that one either
It was august 28th, 2005. Not the 23rd. I lived through it. I was rescued by boat from my roof after 4 days. Then spent another 5 days at the convention center. Also, fema did not pay out EVERYONE. Most people like myself could not return back to new Orleans because insurance and the government only gave us pennies to a dollar compared to what our homes were worth. Lots of homes had been passed down from several generations so deeds and titles werent properly done so there were a lot of people who couldnt even prove the ownership of their homes and therefore lost everything. Whenever the rebuilt the city, the got rid of the projects and never rebuilt them. All the people from the projects had nowhere to return to and couldnt afford to move to the new places that were built. Most of the neighborhoods that were rebuilt were unaffordable to the people that had lived in that area for generations. These big corporations and investors gentrified most of the previously affordable neighborhoods and thats why most of us never went back. Its really sad to think about how i cant go back and see where i grew up. All the friends i grew up with that i have no idea where they went or what happened to them. After katrina, i would say that BR doubled if not tripled in size. At least a quarter of new orleanians move to BR or Houston. I saw something that said katrina was the largest urban displacement of people in modern american history & i do believe. Louisiana is culturally different already and katrina happening made everything even more confusing and different. All the new orleans people that moved to different cities were not welcomed with open arms in my opinion. We lost everything and then had to move to new cities that didnt want us. Thats part of the reason why crime rates spiked so bad in 06, lack of anything such as money, housing, clothing, food, etc. every basic necessity was lacking for these folks. I get so angry when i see people say that they were "looting" in new orleans after the storm. NO. THEY WERE SURVIVING! They would do the same if they had lost everything and had no food, water or clothing.
They loot every city every storm. Even if it's not that bad. Loose power for three days, clear out the liquor store and finish line and footlocker. Dumb bitch
