The Irish Guy takes a look at the biggest decisions your club has ever made, including Arsenal missing out on Cristiano Ronaldo, Man City losing out on Virgil Van Dijk and Sergio Aguero nearly ending up at Chelsea.
@@shalevhassonschrager6975 yep. Just shows how arsenal give away quality players. Next thing you know, they'll be selling Lacazette. (my comment is f'ed up because of your name, if anyone was wondering. right to left instead of left to right.)
Sheffield United's biggest mistake has to have been failing to sign Maradona back in the 70s. It very nearly happened, then fell through on the last hurdle. We got Alex Sabella instead
@@xxyyzcrux5319 lol r u high. I am an Arsenal fan but even I think that Frank Lampard is one of the greatest midfielders of time if not the best. U could argue if it was Gerrard and Lampard. But Wijnaldum is nowhere near that caliber.
Can't wait for the Irish Guy to bathe in a tub of milk. #OleIn Edit: After watching Ole play Jesse Lingard against the likes of Mesut Ozil and Nicolas Pepe, I'm officially Ole Out.
Crimson Katana Arsenal selling RVP is nowhere near as significant as snubbing Ronaldo or moving to the Emirates. Really if RVP stayed he would’ve had one more world class season where United/City would’ve still won the title, before his abilities decline and he leaves the prem. only major difference RVP’s move made was deciding the title between City & United. That’s all, in my opinion.
Crimson Katana but moving to the Emirates was very costly, which is why we had to sell our best players. Besides we got £24m out of a 29 year old striker who only had a year left on his contract and would go on to have only more good season (even if it was the best of his career) so it was great business for both clubs.
Also that time when Arsenal ask Zlatan Ibrahimovic to do a trial with them and he allegedly said 'Zlatan doesn't do auditions' instead of just signing him.
This video may be based in the Premier League era, but let's not forget one of the biggest football decisions to ever not be made, when a teenager Maradona almost signs for Sheffield United.
I mean, since chelsea didn't sign aguero, we have won 1 champions league, 2 premier league's, 2 Europa league's, and a bunch of domestic trophies... But yeah he would've "changed the fabric of the club"
It hurts as a Norwich fan to see those old headlines, we also nearly bought Sebastian Haller from Utrecht. Imagine a CB pairing of Alderwiereld and Koulibaly with Haller upfront, I mean the rest of the team would be shite in comparison but still
Everton- Choosing to leave Anfield. If they don't do that then there is no Liverpool. I'd say this is the decision they made that affected football the most.
Should’ve mentioned villas decision to swap Stephen Ireland for James Milner which caused O’Neill to leave because the club officials were not letting him choose what players he wanted to sign. A deal that was in his contract
Do you mention how close Robert Lewandowski came to signing for Blackburn Rovers? Only a volcanic eruption prevented it. Seriously, he was prevented from flying to England by ash clouds from the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull (I can't pronounce it either) eruption in Iceland.
For Arsenal it was the stadium move. Had we not moved, we might still be winning EPL titles. No stadium debt, probably no Kroenke’s, the club would’ve been better off.
As a city fan...im still pissed to this day of not signing van dijk Imagine having one of the best strikers in the prem (aguero) up front with one of the best midfielders in the world (de bruyne) followed by a rock hard defence duo of van dijk and laporte...we couldve got more than 100 points in the last 2 seasons we won the title
3 champions leagues back to back and 3 more back to back in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 and , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and one more in 2018 . I'm a Manchester united fan but with Ronaldo, Wenger would have enough fire power to win the league and the new media deal would have covered the costs of the stadium . With the fact that Wenger spent close to 2 decades at the club , I am certain his trophy cabinet would include 5 league cups , 10 FA Cups , 12 Premier League Titles and 8 Champions leagues , 12 FA Community Shields , 5 UEFA Super Cups and 4 Fifa Club World Cups with the last one coming in 2018 as he would bow out of the sport to be succeeded by say Pep Guardiola . Messi would have left for Arsenal after Barcelona failed under Frank Rijkaard to win the Champions league and since Arsenal already had Viera , Fabregas , Ronaldo , Messi , Van Persie , Thiery Henry , they would end up buying Ramos in 2007 from Real Madrid and Pique from Manchester United after their 3rd champions league win in 2008 . Also, since Arsenal would have two 40 goals a season wingers who assisted at the rate of 15 and 25 goals a season you would have a striker who would be 50 goals a season with Henry and when he turned old the pair of Messi and Ronaldo would continue with Van Persie being the Assist king along with Fabregas . Seeing Fabregas at 26 , they would have brought in Ozil before Madrid and Marcelo from Real Madrid after the second Galacticos are defeated by Wenger's men in 2011 Champions league . The Right back would be covered by bringing in at wing back , young Dani Carvajal and for a young Goalie he would have bought Keylor Navas after his loan spell in Levante in 2012. This would mean by the time the team lost Vieira to age there would be other compensatory players . Maybe he would have brought Essien in 2007 . This would have meant the end of Premier League having any competition and Wenger would have in 13 years from 2005 to 2018 won 10 League titles , 5 league cups , 7 FA Cups , 8 Champions Leagues , 9 Community Shields , 5 UEFA Super Cups and 4 Fifa Club World Cups . Wenger would have been a god as Cristiano would bring in the money for Wenger and the back room staff also would remain . This would make Arsenal and not Manchester United the richest club in the world with a valuation of 8 Billion Dollars and yearly revenues in excess of 1 billion Pounds .
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Watford sacked Brendan Rodgers. He left Watford because reading offered him the job after steve coppell resigned after the 08/09 season. At this time, reading were the better and more attractive destination at the time. I mean if they had rejected readings offer, who knows what would have happened because while he did get Swansea promoted in 10/11, he also was sacked with reading the previous year with the club hovering worryingly above the relegation zone.

Paul Weeks that is 100% true United would just be another mid table team And Liverpool would be the superior side and no fulfilment if the “knocking Liverpool off their perch” by fergie
Imagine if you were a United fan but went into a coma around the time we won the champions league in 2008 to then wake up 11 years later to learn Fergie has retired, Shit has gone down hill since, Mourinho is appointed then sacked, Ole gets the job as manager, and Liverpool winning the champions league in the most boring fashion ever. Yeah no I would've offed myself.
I guess for Liverpool if we didn't sack Rafa in 2010, No Hodgson, Torres and Mascherano won't leave -early-, we won't spend the club money on Downing, Carrol and Charlie Adams, defiantly winning the league sooner with FSG money!! maybe without Klopp amazing football, but a 10 years earlier success is a good thing
