The Irish Guy takes a look at the biggest downfall in football, from every respective year. Including the likes of Ronaldinho, Alexis Sanchez and Wayne Rooney.
Bit harsh on Michael Johnson, the guy struggled with his mental health and depression for years because of his injuries. Met him a few years back, he was really nice and seemed much happier now. Think he’s become quite successful in real estate since he retired as well, so it’s nice to know he’s turned things around for himself and is happier now.
Adriano was one of the main reason why Flamengo won the league title 2009. Best goal scorer in Brazilian League in that season by the way. One season later he was paired with Vagner Love in Flamengo´s then 4-4-2 to form "Emperor of Love" but for some reason he returned to Italy during that year where he was finally broken.
Hence why I don't watch this twat that often. Sevens is the only objective one here. This guy hardly watches the prem and Europe, but definetly not other leagues.
Extreme Gun Gaming he was on around 70k a week and refused to play for a season but also refused to leave the club meaning that the club couldn’t afford to pay the staff (examples like receptionists and stewards etc) meaning that loads and loads lost their jobs when we went down (again I know) but if he had been like Oviedo or Cattermole who actually played rather than refuse, then he wouldn’t be hated like he is at Sunderland
Ronald Ciresa first of all We haven’t ruined a career at all Rio Ferdinand was old just like Rooney but respect to them And also Alexis Sanchez was injuries every time he breathed
Not really. Di Maria still managed 18 assists for United despite only being at the club for one season. He's gone on to be successful in a farmers league. Hardly a step up. Same goes for Depay. Smashed them in in the Dutch farmers league, was shit at United, and now smashing them in at another farmers league. Sanchez and Mykhitarian were both doomed to fail. The former was hardly having a great season at Arsenal and the latter never settled in England. He failed at both United and Arsenal. Sanchez is now failing in Italy as well so it wasn't just United where he was poor. The only player that is achieving real success since leaving the club is Lukaku. Real fans never wanted him to leave, but both him and Ole foolishly wanted him out and he's banging them in in Italy. He never failed at United, the team as a whole failed. The myth that Man United ruin top players needs to die. Simple fact is most of them couldn't hack it at the very top level or just had poor attitude and were just there for the payday. The club has wised up to that now and slowly getting rid of all the high earners whilst nurturing young talent. It might not be bearing fruit right now but considering the club is only 5 points off a CL place with a game in hand proves it's not all doom and gloom.
Interesting year to put Torres but I imagine it's because he already had Ronaldinho for 2011. Torres had his best individual league season since his Liverpool days in 15/16 and reached a Champions League final.
Rio fell off like that coz his wife was seriously ill and passed away that season. So its a bit unfair to include him wen he had more important things on his mind. Love the channel but disagree with putting him on the list
I was going to mention that. Tbf he should be on the list because that was a bad season, he should have retired at United because it was apparent in his last season there that he'd finally succumbed to age. At QPR the combination of that with his wife being terminally ill (and keeping that out of the press) was just catastrophic for him.
@@skoczek777 David Villa is one of the best strikers of all time though, with many years of consistent performances under his belt for club and country and winning literally everything while being important. He just never got that spark back after breaking his leg, but he definitely kept banging in the goals. He scored 450 goals throughout his career, how is that anywhere near comparable to Pato?
2010 Robinho? He was GREAT at Santos, winning their first ever Brazilian Cup (he was the leader in a team with Neymar rising, Elano, the fullbacks Danilo and Alex Sandro, and more...), then he had a very good World Cup for Brazil, then moved to Milan and actually was decent... I'd say the year he ''declined'' was surely some year after 2010.
To me It’s funny but also kinda sad how everyone thinks of PES 06 whenever someone mentions Adriano rather than a once tipped future world Star in football 😢.
Back then Vieri-Adriano, Recoba-Adriano, and Ibrahimovic-Adriano are the reason why my friends and i had a rule to never pick Inter because their strikers are so op lol.. Forgot to mention Martins as well with his 99 speed..
I know that this is supposed to be a fun video and all, but the Adriano and Ronaldinho ones were very unfair. I know it's not amazing nowadays, but Brazil's football is not that shit tier, and they both leaded teams to big titles here
About Adriano, I'm pretty sure you don't follow the Brazilian league. In 2008, he was decisive to São Paulo's title. In 2009, Flamengo won the league, being totally carried in Adriano's back. Next year, he went to Roma and, then, his career was over.
@@ZaKRo-bx7lp Alexis Sanchez was never that good at Barcelona period. Man was regularly on the bench and couldn't dislodge Pedro at RW who was much better at that club.
I think Rooney is still Premier League quality. He was pretty decent at Everton and the MLS looked too easy for him. He may not be a regular starting eleven player for most of the premier League clubs, but I think he can still make an impact when he does play
Adriano 2007? 2 years later the man won the Brazilian league with Flamengo, their first in 17 years, finished joint top scorer too. As for Ronaldinho, "finished" in 2011, he was sensational for Atletico Mineiro between 2012 and 2014, won the fan's league player of the year, won Atletico the Libertadores for the first time in their history and was deservedly awarded 2013 South American Player of the Year (yes it is an award for players based in South America) but the guy who finished 2nd that year was an already certified star in Neymar.
Adriano won the brazillian serie A (brasileirao) and was the top scorer in the country in 2009 playing for flamengo and for his people. Ronaldinho didn’t do too well in Flamengo in 2011, but won a Libertadores in 2013 with Atletico Mineiro.
Surprised not to see Balotelli, he was on track to be one of Europe's best in my opinion. I remember him scoring 2 against Germany in the Euro Semis the year Pirlo also dominated. His numbers seems to have fallen off a cliff. Also I know hes had some serious health problems, but Gotze had a huge decline, he looked like one of the attacking midfielders in workd football, scored the winner against Argentina, but since he moved back to Dortmund hes not been the same and looks like they will let him leave this season.
Ronaldinho after leaving milan still single handedly won the copa libertadores(south american ucl) and torres after going back to atleti won a europa league and reached a champions league final
I know your a Toon fan as well as me but we deffo did take to Duff at the time, I went to every home and away game in those days and its not like people blame Duff for the own goal either, yeah he declined from his Chelsea time but not as bad as you've made out here
Adriano was the best scorer in serie a in Brazil 2009 and won the league, Ronaldinho was the best player in the Libertadores Champion team Atlético Mineiro...
I think you were really harsh on Fernando Torres. Considering he became an important player in his two seasons back at Atletico and reaching the UCL Final.
I genuinely believe Adriano could of been one of the best strikers of all time! He was blessed with every attribute like Ronaldo! Just a shame we never got to see him reach the very top
Tome Breslin yeah mendy is not even finish. He still going great(whenever he plays). The problem is WHEN he play. Which is pretty rare. But i think he improved a bit this season. Last two season I see him often at twitter rather than the pitch
i'm gonna blame milan, specifically berlusconi for the decline of kaka. he didn't want to leave milan in the first place, but berlusconi sold him to cover his debt
7:13 if you cant include Falcao you also shouldn't include Torres. In 2015 in his January lonely back to Atletico he scored 2 goals to eliminate real Madrid. He scored then against Barcelona in an exciting cup tie. After the loan he was bought back permanently and became a starter at Atletico. That next season he bagged an important quarterfinal goal against barcelona that eliminated Us.
I think it was a bit harsh on Kaka, Rooney, Torres and Ronaldinho. Kaka wanted to say farewell to AC Milan before going to the MLS to become an icon of American ‘soccer’. Meanwhile that’s a similar thing to both Rooney and Torres as they wanted to have a farewell season with their original clubs before they were rejected at their current clubs. Torres was gonna go to Japan because of Villa and Iniesta- while Rooney was gonna go to the MLS because of the same reason like Keane, Kaka, Bastian and Zlatan- to follow Beckham’s footsteps and conquer the game over in the States which they all did. And Ronaldinho literally did a Maradona which is say goodbye to your origins. So maybe a bit harsh on players that just want to say goodbye and walk into the sunset
I think he meant with his lifestyle like partying and flirting with gold digging models.. Also some say he choose psg for money, like he could've stayed at barca and made more impact
I don’t often say it, but on personal notes you were a little to harsh in ur tone when talking about Adriano and Michael Johnson in this vid. Both of them had serious personal life issues going on. Just think they deserves a bit more respect or to be treated with more dignity in your tone. Normally a fan of most the content on here, but the line was very much toed there.
@@LoightaFluwid He may have been 34 at the time but still a brilliant player and captain of Chelsea and Germanys national team at the time. He had at least 2 to 3 more years on the highest level in him.
I love you Irish man, I'm Irish too but please don't slag Adriano he was depressed because his dad passed away half way through his career and he was devastated by it.
2014 or 15 could've been gerrard tbh, after a horrendous world cup in 2014 and then moving to LA. And I'm a Liverpool fan btw Torres was good on his return to Athletico imo
Gerrard was still top scorer in his last year at Liverpool. He could have left for another top European club but he said he didnt want a chance to play vs Liverpool. If Klopp was manager I think he would keep him but play him as a sub like Ferguson did with Scholes. It's a shame Gerrard missed out on Klopp by 5 months but luckily Henderson and Milner filled the leadership vacuum. I think his America form was down to different culture(travelling) and lack of passion for LA Galaxy.
i belive ronaldinho still had plenty to offer after ac milan, he won a bunch of trophies here in brazil. his career declined only after joining queretaro imo
Robbie Keane, a guy who I admire so much that I'd still consider him a role model now at 22 years old, was meant to take the next step in his career and become one if the best strikers in europe, and came to the club who I've supported my entire life to do it. Only for it to all go wrong, and to see both club and player go on such a decline at the same time was absolutely heart wrenching. It was cruel
Going at Mendy like that is a bit harsh, you can’t say his career has ended just by missing out a whole season due to injuries, and then slating him from his performances against wolves. Give the man some time to get improve. He has 6 assists so far in all comps, why didn’t you mention that?
