Welcome to the Leadfeet RU-vid channel where we will run ridiculous distances and WE WILL LIKE IT! You can also find me on Twitter @myleadfeet. Looking forward to sharing the trail or the road or maybe the treadmill with you soon.
"She always let's me have her way..." Just one of the many Class Reunion gems I have stolen over the years and evolved into my own (never let facts get in the way of a good story).
That was Joshua, he did great. Saw him at the start of the 2023 marathon and he looked a little sheepish for not joining us earlier for the double. :-)
Great vid! Your first video 10 years ago was motivation to push me to my first marathon. Love watching them. Always gives me a boost. Ran grandmas again yesterday and it was awesome.
I did detect less than the usual amount of Strand humour! Another great video - you now have the luxury of a full 12 months to prepare for next year's effort: I'm sure that you'll nail it!
Great out there and definitely agree it was tough with the elevation after twin lakes and fell apart as well. I was with you at Winfield waiting for the shuttles. You are actually in a picture I took at hope pass as we both made the cutoff by a few minutes. See you in 2023. You are a champ no matter what. Leadville is unlike any other race and truly takes everything out of you.
The big question is do we have to wait another year for the 2022 video? LOL. I am an aspiring Ultra runner. In other words, I have not done one yet but you are an absolute inspiration. Maybe someday I will join you.
I don't know when the 2022 Grandma's 2022 video will come out but I do know the 2023 edition will start at 2:30AM on race day. Plenty of room at the start/finish line.
Oh my goodness, I’ve been waiting SO long for this video to come out 😂 Loved when you mentioned the social distancing plan hahaha! My dad, brother, and I joked about that like 10 times at the starting line! See you in a couple weeks!!!
Anywhere from 9 mins/mile to 20 mins/mile. Just depended on how I was feeling. Also, I took three breaks to get some sleep ranging anywhere from 90 mins to 4 hours each. Good luck, it's a great experience!
HOPE ⛰HOPE ⛰HOPE 🏃♀️⛰I am hopeful after watching your Leadville video that I Tom will meet the llamas🦙 and receive a hug from Ken & Merilee. Awesome and Inspiring video. 🙏
What a day and race for all who were there! I just recently saw the highlights on RU-vid and realized what a challenge it was considering the conditions....let alone the course and competition. That was brutal...I still can't comprehend how Yuki ran in shorts and a tank top. Super-human effort. And he had to carry a piano from the 5K marker on ;) LOL! What a finish. I can't believe NBC missed the coverage of him passing Kirui at the end. Ouch. As someone who has experienced a few marathons and also been part of videotaping The Warwick, NY Marathons (1994-1996 - New York Marathon overflow race) I have seen and felt the ups and downs of this athletic endeavor. You must be very proud to be part of the 2018 Boston Marathon adventure. Nice job with the video and narration. What memories! Congrats to all!...Great job Boston!
It has been far, far too long since an Eric Strand video! That was a great little pep talk by the lady at mile 50 - no one likes a DNF, but you definitely learn something when it happens! Good luck next year Eric (and get a new gimbal or whatever it's called - technology has moved on a bit in the last ten years!!!). Your videos make me want to do whatever it is that you are doing in them.
I was there my friend. It was my 5th World Marathon Major. It was a brilliant experience especially in that weather. To be honest the weather really made it for me because it was so epic, so abnormal. We will talk about it for years to come. When I run now and the weather is bad I laugh to myself and say " I've run a marathon in worse!!" best wishes from Belfast Ireland, 🇮🇪🏃🍀💚
